Did Samsung Terminate Allan Kassenoff? Giant Electronics Company May Need His Expertise

His divorce and custody dispute cost him his job.

Allan Kassenoff resigned from Greenberg Traurig this month. He was, by all accounts, a successful patent trial lawyer with over 20 years of experience. He was also a partner in the giant law firm, earning, according to court filings, $800k-1 million per year.

When his wife, Catherine Kassenoff, posted a message on May 27, stating she intended to kill herself that day in Switzerland in a medically assisted suicide, Frank Report published it. Other outlets soon covered it. It went viral.

Catherine left behind 18 unflattering videos of Allan berating his wife and kids. FR published them. So did others. It went viral on TikTok through Robbie Harvey, who garnered over 30 million views.

While FR has been unable to confirm Catherine took her life, her attorney-friends, Jonathan Davidoff, Wayne Baker, and Harold Burke, all believe she did go through with it.

If Catherine’s battle with Allan cost her her life, it cost him at least his career. Whether he can make a comeback is hard to predict.

However, though he is currently at least on the record not with Greenberg Traurig, because his specialty is so niche and essential, it is possible he can find work, even if it has to be under the radar.

But until three weeks ago, nobody had to distance themselves from him.

Allan Kassenoff was doing well. Not only did he have complete custody of the couple’s three children, but the court also barred her from contacting them unsupervised the cause she said of her suicide he was rolling in his career.

To make a point here: He went to family court. He ostensibly won, but he lost. He is now notorious, odious, hated, and infamous, and he lost at least a million and likely much more in legal fees and lost his career.

That’s the rule for family court. Like a casino, everyone walks away as a loser, except the odds are better at a casino.

But let us explore what Allan Kassenoff was and what he lost by contesting in family court, and then ask yourself what else can one do but hand your whole life over to a judge give him complete control of your life? If there was no such thing as family court, would these two killer fighters Catherine and Allan have been forced to work it out between themselves?

Could it possibly have ended any worse?

Allan was confronted at his home by a News Nation reporter. He declined an interview.

His Career

His high-profile legal work was to defend patents or products sold by companies like Alcoa, General Mills, Amazon.com, Pfizer, Reynolds, Garmin, Sears, and Samsung, against other companies that claimed its patents were infringed, or, conversely, he would represent companies for the same reason infringement.

In addition to patent litigation, Kassenoff specialized in:

  1. Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical intellectual property law
  2. ANDA Hatch-Waxman litigation
  3. Post-issuance patent proceedings, including inter partes review, post-grant review, and ex parte reexaminations

One of the notable companies Kassenoff represented as lead attorney was Samsung.

Samsung entrusted Kassenoff with protecting their patents, such as:

  1. secure contact-free payment from a mobile device
  2. video processing of Samsung’s SmartTVs
  3. lock screen feature of the Galaxy smartphones
  4. reconfigurable communication networks
  5. authenticating mobile devices over multiple links
  6. pedometer functionality
  7. Bluetooth, LTE, and other communication protocols
  8. lithium battery technology

It is unclear if Samsung will continue to use him. Despite his resignation from Greenberg Traurig, he brings unique skills to the specialized field of patent infringement litigation.

Samsung might not be keen to jettison him, arguing that his divorce and custody even his wife’s suicide have nothing to do with patent infringement.

On the other hand, Kassenoff is radioactive. His reputation precedes him. Judges, juries, the corporate world, and consumers are sensitive to his potential for bad press.

Let us look at the legal work he did.

What About Samsung?

The question of whether Samsung has dropped Kassenoff is yet to be determined.

This statement came out online, then appears to have been retracted. It is Samsung Norway not Samsung America, the company Kassenoff represented.

Dear followers,
We would like to address the current situation involving Allan Kassenoff. As representatives of Samsung Norway and Samsung Benelux, we have made the decision to part ways with Allan Kassenoff. However, we understand that this decision has not been implemented by Samsung as a whole at this time. This is a complex matter that requires careful consideration from the entire organization.
There are various reasons contributing to this situation, and Samsung is committed to handling it thoughtfully rather than rushing into any conclusions. In the meantime, we are actively working to expedite Allan Kassenoff’s termination. We deeply appreciate your understanding and assure you that we are dedicated to regaining your trust in our company.
Sincerely,
Samsung Benelux Customer Journey Team

The statement might be phony, but one thing which is not phony is that Allan Kassenoff and his wife, wherever she may be, have experienced drastic changes in their lives after some years of fighting.

It is ironic that professionally, as lawyers, their jobs were to fight and win using whatever tactics it took in court or outside of it.

Maybe they should not have taken their job skills to their marriage and family life.

He did take his knowledge and power of being a lawyer abd use it against her. She probably did the same. But guess who thought he would win by pushing his wife faster to her demise.
Did he really win!
One night he will wake up and I will leave it at that. His name is DICK not Allan.
Big KARMA continues for him

This isn’t not about parents fighting: unreasonably, unfairly or destructively.

Without corruption for sale in Westchester family courts, Allan would still have a job, Catherine would be a mother to her children and they all would have lived happily ever after, each in their own idea of happiness.

These articles on FR are about the exploitation of children and families in the family courts.

Some call it “trafficking”. That’s exactly what it is.

From now on, if more commenters can think of these articles being about, “the trafficking of our nation’s families” will more will send the blame where it belongs — instead of to Catherine, to Allan or – – to Samsung?

CYA.
Oh now that this has been reported, poor Allan, let’s have a go fund me for him. Maybe we should have a parade .What will the world do without a man of his skills? The patent world will never be the same. Multi billion corporations will be left in the desert thirsty for someone to defend them. Somebody please give me a tissue right now. Or is this post possibly a CYA? Could there possibly be some form of a threat of litigation for poor wittle Allan losing his job? According to the statement he was not fired, he resigned. And the court of opinion has deemed that he is vulgar and sledge. He and his attorney used every backstabbing, wicked maneuver to destroy Catherine. Even after her death he continues to narrate to his audience that she was “crazy“. The videos are the evidence. The jury is the public. This sentence is using our wallets as to not purchase anything from anyone associated with this weasel. The term is often referred to as “cancel culture”. Allan used the courts to alienate the children’s mother and we use the court of opinion to alienate Our wallets from anything that he is associated with. Just as the Tracey Thurman court decision changed domestic abuse laws, Catherine Youssef Kassenoff’s case WILL change the family court laws. We shall NOT be silent. We shall be the voice for Catherine.

So now you are essentially reproducing his resume for him. His strongest skill, scaring the crap out of his kids, and driving his wife to suicide should be first and foremost.

Anybody who believes that “Samsung” TikTok screenshot is real has a below room temperature IQ. A ten year old in MS Paint could do a more convincing job.

I thought the FR was better than this. I’ve enjoyed the FR reporting on NIXVM for many years. The total lack of fact checking and over-all reporting on the Catherine Kassenoff’s suicide via FB post has been really disappointing.

Dear Samsung, Allan Kassenoff is a bad man. A very bad man. Here in America we punish hard working, winning fathers. We know you Asians like to throw your first born daughters in the trash, but here we just yell at our kids. So fire Allan.
Thanks

Frank this looks like an attempt to salvage Allan’s career. Where is the deep dive in to the court system. That’s what this is all about. Enough with the fluff.

Thanks. Looking forward to reading. Also see the website for some very useful documents, including judge Koba’s decision regarding her custody decision: https://www.kassenofffacts.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/CourtDoc.pdf

Judge Koba’s decision was non-sensical. If anything it shows her corruption. She found domestic violence in that she believed Catherine’s account of the dirt throwing incident, yet she did not consider it in her decision. She says the children need their mother, yet she severed their bond with her. It accuses her of “gaslighting” or “manipulating” the children because they reported abuse. Yet the abuse is documented in these videos that the world has seen, so how were the children reporting non-existent abuse? And she said the discredited Dr. Abrams was “credible.” And she excuses Allan’s “alienating” behavior in refusing to give the children their Easter baskets, etc. from their mother as “he wasn’t used to being the custodial parent” and he can be trusted to foster the relationship between the children and their mother. We all know how this turned out. And she was worried about what might have been at most a dozen or so people “picketing the Courthouse” and that was the alleged basis for an order of protection against Catherine, not any abusive conduct on her part. Give me a break. Now there are millions of people around the world who are aware of this case.

You and everyone else really must listen to the fourth recording (the 39 minute one). Catherine is OUT OF CONTROL and sounds very disturbed. There is a lot more to this story than what the media has picked up. https://www.kassenofffacts.com/media/

I sincerely hope Allan can rehabilitate his reputation, but only if he repairs the damage inflicted on his daughters — starting with apologizing to them for the behavior he showed in those videos, whether they were singular incidents on the worst days or representative of enduring patterns. Then I hope he uses his knowledge and skills to rebuild positive “karma”, so to speak, something like, applying his legal and scientific mind to public service or non-profits.

More deeply, I wonder if both Allan and Catherine got derailed by symbolism and “status” rather than the legit gravitas of love and knowledge — fronting a pretty family home in place of having a truly loving family; defining professional stature by the size of whom you represent rather than the technical precision of your projects. When you’re in that kind of home/family/career path it may be almost impossible *not* to take on something of a narcissistic personality. I hope Allan comes to experience much of that symbolism as unenlightened, as a stain on the mirror of self. Wear shorts and a t-shirt. Don’t live in an upscale house; rent an apartment in a run-of-the-mill ‘hood (North Queens/South-East Bronx — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez territory — is a great place to live, speaking from experience). Spend a few years under the radar nurturing the children. If by the time they go off to college the world learns that Allan was sustaining a noble life and (let’s say) founded a non-profit startup, “we” should forgive and embrace him (speaking rhetorically, at least).

Many Bodhisattvas (the 9th of the Tiantai “10 worlds”) started their journey in a much lower and darker place.

Patent attorneys will never have to worry about getting well paid work. Patent cases aren’t media affairs and they don’t care he has a crazy ex-wife who faked suicide in a revenge plot.

Be interesting to see what the press does when Catherine has to leave her hidey hole. Allan will have a good case for defamation for several platforms that presented Catherine’s death as fact and slandered him.

He already stated he hates her. She is a dead duck. He could careless about the mother of his children. The woman is dead and Allan can’t stand that she is not around to torture anymore. “Loser” Sad. Let’s see if Frank will have more information about what really happened in this case. Text book playbook of the court system playbook Mom will be eliminated at all costs. Developed by the AFCC. Custody for sale. Several decent Dads sacrificed for cash. Den of thieves. We can not let the courts run under the radar any longer.

About the Author

Frank Parlato is an investigative journalist.

His work has been cited in hundreds of news outlets, like The New York Times, The Daily Mail, VICE News, CBS News, Fox News, New York Post, New York Daily News, Oxygen, Rolling Stone, People Magazine, The Sun, The Times of London, CBS Inside Edition, among many others in all five continents.

His work to expose and take down NXIVM is featured in books like “Captive” by Catherine Oxenberg, “Scarred” by Sarah Edmonson, “The Program” by Toni Natalie, and “NXIVM. La Secta Que Sedujo al Poder en México” by Juan Alberto Vasquez.

Parlato has been prominently featured on HBO’s docuseries “The Vow” and was the lead investigator and coordinating producer for Investigation Discovery’s “The Lost Women of NXIVM.” Parlato was also credited in the Starz docuseries "Seduced" for saving 'slave' women from being branded and escaping the sex-slave cult known as DOS.

Additionally, Parlato’s coverage of the group OneTaste, starting in 2018, helped spark an FBI investigation, which led to indictments of two of its leaders in 2023.

Parlato appeared on the Nancy Grace Show, Beyond the Headlines with Gretchen Carlson, Dr. Oz, American Greed, Dateline NBC, and NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, where Parlato conducted the first-ever interview with Keith Raniere after his arrest. This was ironic, as many credit Parlato as one of the primary architects of his arrest and the cratering of the cult he founded.

Parlato is a consulting producer and appears in TNT's The Heiress and the Sex Cult, which premiered on May 22, 2022. Most recently, he consulted and appeared on Tubi's "Branded and Brainwashed: Inside NXIVM," which aired January, 2023.
