Is there a successful self-made billionaire prison investor offering tips and advice to Twitter followers about how to get rich buying private prisons? No, that's not verified: The @prisoninvestor1 account of “Dallas Liam” uses inflammatory tweets to get attention, but does not appear to be a verifiable real person who is investing in private prisons. There is also no record of “Prisons for America LLC,” which Dallas Liam is purportedly the chairman of. The only results in online searches are mentions pointing back to the @prisoninvestor Twitter account.

A thread was posted on Twitter (archived here as an unrolled thread) by @prisoninvestor1 on April 17, 2022. Screenshots of the tweets have been posted on Facebook. One example is this post, published on April 17, 2022. It contains 10 screenshots of the tweets in that thread and one image of a prison facility. The Facebook post was captioned:

This makes my blood boil, that smile I had in my last post is gone! I speak on this all the time yet we keep saying reform police, how about we throw away the WHOLE system and start over. The police are just the slave catchers…nothing has changed just been redesigned. @realnathandaley I'm ready to have that conversation.

When I say we are used as commodity and disposal…that's EXACTLY what I mean.

The profile picture on the Dallas Liam @prisoninvestor1 account is a computer-generated face, like the StyleGAN faces found at thispersondoesnotexist.com. The profile image is a perfect square and the eyes of the StyleGAN face are aligned within the square in the anticipated position of the StyleGAN features. Another giveaway that this is a computer-generated face are the asymmetrical and incomplete frames of the eyeglasses.

Previously the @prisoninvestor1 account (archived here on April 30, 2021) used a photo of Ryan Bundy, the son of rancher Cliven Bundy for a profile picture. The photo matches an image of Bundy used in a 2018 article in reviewjournal.com. At the time the @prisoninvestor1 tweets were archived in 2021, the account was posting tweets that were similar, if not identical, to the tweets being posted in 2022. The image below shows the identical tweet posted in April of 2021 and 2022. The thread from 2021 was featured in an April 29, 2021, article on thestonkmarket.com.

One of the tweets featured in the Facebook post mentioned above contains an image. A reverse image search identified this as the Karnes County Texas Detention Facility, as seen here on the website of The GEO Group, which bought the facility in January 1998. In the tweet with that photo, @prisoninvestor wrote that they purchased the Eagle Nest facility in 2008:

I purchased the Eagle Nest Facility in 2008. Total cost was $30 million with 25% down ($7.5 million). The facility has 1,200 beds implying a cost per bed of only $25,000 (building a new prison is in excess of $150k per bed).

The Maverick County Detention Center in Eagle Pass, Texas was purchased by The GEO Group in 2017. It is located near the border with Mexico and is about three hours away from the Karnes County Detention Facility on the outskirts of San Antonio. But @prisoninvestor1 claimed in the tweet that they purchased the “Eagle Nest Facility,” not Eagle Pass. A careful reading of the 2021 stonkmarket.com article shows the claimed purchase was of an Eagle Pass facility:

In an April 20, 2022, tweet (archived here) @prisoninvestor1 posted two images. Lead Stories used Google's reverse image search to identify them. The photo of the house on the left appears in the Library of Congress photo collection, captioned, “Mulberry, U.S. Route 521, Camden, Kershaw County, SC.” The other photo shows Lieber Correctional Institution in Ridgeville, South Carolina. The photo of the prison appears in an article in thetimes.co.uk. These two sites in South Carolina are located about a one-hour, 40-minute drive from each other — they are not on the same land. The tweet's impossible narrative reads:

My great great great grand daddy was a large plantation owner in South Carolina. This is a picture of the house he lived in. He operated a massive cotton farm. The house doesn't exist anymore. But we built a state of an art prison on the land. He would be very proud right now.

Lead Stories reached out to The GEO Group by email on April 25, 2022, and will update this article as appropriate if a response is received.

Lead Stories also reached out to the Twitter account of @prisoninvestor1 through direct message. They did respond, but did not offer a means to verify their identity, and said, “I shield my identity so I don't get hunted and killed by my haters.” They also said that they did not do the interview that appears on frankreport.com, that it is fake, and that a post on Reddit was also not by them, but someone who stole their content “for clout on Reddit.”

He is most likely unable to do what is right and best for children because he is a classic narcissist abuser. The kids are trophies. These fathers are unable to see themselves in error

Frank, you take gaslighting to another level, and it appears you are proud to wear that hat. Horribly tragic that not ONE of you cared one lick about those children, if you did, nothing should be posted here. That goes for all three of you and the stupid ass godmother.

This is a gossip blog. And while mostly entertaining, it hurts my heart when people use children as pawns to forward their blog, divorce, custody etc.

Is the truth always fair? Certainly, it doesn’t seem fair to these children. ALL OF YOU have drug through the mud for weeks. Be sure your sins will find you out. Wait until those children grow up. They have memories. They are not little balls of clay. Keep that in mind.

Chris, all this can go away if you just do the right thing and let Karen and her kids be together without restriction. That seems to be as much in your interest as in everyone else's. Don't let vanity and anger rob you of peace and well-being

Where they want to live, in any other State with kids of this age, they decide. In open Court, the Judge should simply ask them. Would Chris consent to accept that outcome? If he’s so not at all using these kids as pawns and truly concerned about their future, he would.

The saddest thing about what Chris has done to his family is Karen is alienated from her children now and in the future when is not presiding over his children, he will be alienated.

Even more sad is the fact that the kids will no doubt have issues of their own from growing up in an environment that Chris has created. Chris is a sad excuse for a father that claims that he loves his children and wants what is best for them.

The fact that Chris is surprised reading these comments and does not understand why people want to beat him silly is laughable. He is a shallow and worthless man hurting innocent kids and that should get you a thorough beating any day of the week.

Your life is threatened? Really? And that’s why cars are idling at end of your driveway? Are there police reports about these idling cars?

What's forgotten is what do the children want. They are 15 and 12 so they have a say ?

I want to know what Chris Ambrose is hiding. What is he so scared of being revealed? Why is he holding on so tight to these children who are not biologically his? Nor did he have much a hand in raising since he was in LA for most of their lives.

Honestly — what does he gain having custody at this point? He can't work because he is a plagiarist. I assume he has spent a great deal of that $2 million over the past few years fighting in court (and buying every lawyer, GAL, etc.). So what happens when all the money runs out? How will he support these children with food/clothing/housing? (No job = no money)

Two of these children will be emancipated next year – at age 16. What then? What dirty little secrets will they reveal?

The decree issued, no orders isolating the kids from the world. Call Chris [redacted] invite him and the kids out for lunch, go gift shopping, maybe a trip to the gym. The high drama is over, the GAL is out, no lawyers, kids are just regular neighborhood kids who can come out and play now.

Well put, Frank. The statement “Why don’t you work things out with your ex-wife and make your children happy? It is easy to do” says it all. Regardless of what has transpired, simply put in the effort (which doesn't require much) to put things right. Own the results of what has transpired, fix the problem, and everyone's life will improve!

I sometimes put off reading these articles because they involve children being abused and it is a tough read.
