Leah Remini to investigate NXIVM on A&E; Sarah Edmondson may co-host episode

Scientology isn’t the only cult-like group Leah Remini is trying to expose

Leah Remini will be back on A&E for a third season, and reportedly she will dedicate at least one episode to NXIVM.

Leah Remini Returning to A&E to Investigate Other ‘Cult-Like Religions’

Leah Remini has been exposing Scientology on Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, which has been a success on A&E. The second season finished recently.

According to Us Weekly, when she returns for season three, Leah Remini will be looking into the Jehovah’s Witnesses, NXIVM, and possibly other groups/cults.

Her first two seasons, featuring one hour episodes, were focused exclusively on Scientology.

Sources say Sarah Edmondson may join Ms. Remini in the NXIVM episode, perhaps as a co-host. This may be a precursor for a spin off show for Ms. Edmondson.  Reportedly, Ms. Edmondson has been inundated with book and TV offers as a result of her brave and unique stand against NXIVM.

It suggests that bravery pays better than cowardice – even against a Vanguard.

According to sources, Sarah Edmondson has multiple offers for book and TV deals. Perhaps in time she may have more wealth than Clare Bronfman. And that would be true executive success.

The exposure that the 20/20 gave NXIVM is not having the desired effect.

Of the almost 300 comments on the ABC News site, “stupid” outnumbered “brainwashed” about 10 to 1.

If this represents most viewers’ opinions, then their show generated more shock than sympathy.

That’s because many people are ignorant and don’t know how cults work. That’s how most of the people who were in it got involved in the first place. Many people think people who still join Scientology are stupid. That is irrelevant. It doesn’t make what Leah, Sara and others are doing of any less value for educating the public about and initiating action against such groups.

I agree Sarah Edmonson is very brave. She is the only one branded who has left to publicly step forward to expose and talk about the DOS branding. This was a huge exposure for NXIVM.

Another True Hero is Toni Natalie.

Toni was the lone wolf working to expose Raniere long before others all on her own. When people left, they contracted her for help, hope and a life ring. Toni has done more over the years than all of those who have left combined to date to expose Raniere and his inner circle. Raniere and his gang of merry women (and some men) would not leave her alone to move on with her life. Toni had no choice but to fight the fight. She has pave the way to make it easier for all of us who have left after her.

There are other hero’s out there and someday we can have a hero’s hall of fame.

I’m proud to know both of these woman and to stand by their side and to work to end this insanity. I’m a part of the NO MORE ABUSE NXIVM club. Who else is in with us? You can be anonymous, just post NO MORE ABUSE NXIVM

Sarah Edmonson is probably the bravest person I’ve ever met. We all should pay her thanks for exposing this demon. She has more guts than all the SOP men combined.

Yes she is. Massive respect for her. Thank you Sarah. And thank you to all the others who have kept up the good fight, despite the evil (yeah, that exists Keith) that has emanated from Albany.

Let’s all make sure he can never do this to anyone again. Hopefully those who are still drinking the koolaid will see the light soon and exit stage left. There is a huge community of support waiting for them.

Still shaking my head at how well we were programmed. Barf.

About the Author

Frank Parlato is an investigative journalist.

His work has been cited in hundreds of news outlets, like The New York Times, The Daily Mail, VICE News, CBS News, Fox News, New York Post, New York Daily News, Oxygen, Rolling Stone, People Magazine, The Sun, The Times of London, CBS Inside Edition, among many others in all five continents.

His work to expose and take down NXIVM is featured in books like “Captive” by Catherine Oxenberg, “Scarred” by Sarah Edmonson, “The Program” by Toni Natalie, and “NXIVM. La Secta Que Sedujo al Poder en México” by Juan Alberto Vasquez.

Parlato has been prominently featured on HBO’s docuseries “The Vow” and was the lead investigator and coordinating producer for Investigation Discovery’s “The Lost Women of NXIVM.” Parlato was also credited in the Starz docuseries "Seduced" for saving 'slave' women from being branded and escaping the sex-slave cult known as DOS.

Additionally, Parlato’s coverage of the group OneTaste, starting in 2018, helped spark an FBI investigation, which led to indictments of two of its leaders in 2023.

Parlato appeared on the Nancy Grace Show, Beyond the Headlines with Gretchen Carlson, Dr. Oz, American Greed, Dateline NBC, and NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, where Parlato conducted the first-ever interview with Keith Raniere after his arrest. This was ironic, as many credit Parlato as one of the primary architects of his arrest and the cratering of the cult he founded.

Parlato is a consulting producer and appears in TNT's The Heiress and the Sex Cult, which premiered on May 22, 2022. Most recently, he consulted and appeared on Tubi's "Branded and Brainwashed: Inside NXIVM," which aired January, 2023.
