Here is what’s been reported:
The US Department of Justice has started a federal investigation into NXIVM.
The FBI is doing interviews.
The Justice Department’s ‘broad probe’ includes NXIVM’s business dealings, and its practice of recruiting members from abroad.
Federal officials have interviewed several people associated with Raniere. Among those interviewed are women who claimed they were lured into DOS which required them to consent to being branded with Raniere’s initials.
NXIVM retained forensic psychiatrist, Dr. Park Dietz to evaluate India Oxenberg, 26, a member of NXIVM and DOS. Dr. Dietz said he found no evidence of “brainwashing” and India appeared “happy,”
Dr. Dietz said Nxivm had not hired him to examine matters related to DOS.
Nxivm attempted [it is not known if they succeeded] to hire lobbyists in Albany to represent it before politicians and regulators.
Emiliano Salinas claims DOS is not affiliated with Nxivm.
NXIVM sued Toni Zarattini because he and others allegedly tried to extort Nxivm by asking for money in exchange for not revealing information. A Mexican judge dismissed the case ruling there was no evidence.
A lawyer for Nxivm said another legal action is pending against Mr. Zarattini.
New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo is expected to recommend changes in how state regulators review complaints against doctors because complaints about Dr. Danielle Roberts and Dr. Brandon Porter, both affiliated with Nxivm, were dismissed, then revisited after the Times did an October 17, expose on NXIVM.
Mexican media has reported that Emilano Salinas claims he remains unaware of the branding sorority or that NXIVM has nothing to do with DOS.

Once again, this TU story omits the bigger question. WHY THE FUCK HAS NO LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL IN THE ALBANY AREA INVESTIGATED NXIVM AND RANIERE FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS DESPITE THE FACT THAT NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED AGAINST THEM? Are they all just incredibly lazy or incompetent? Or were they all scared off or bought off with Bronfman money? Maybe that’s the real reason why the current investigation is based in NYC rather than in Albany. If so, we may see a few local law enforcement officials indicted too. Wouldn’t that be a great way to start the New Year?

How can Alex and Emiliano bring changes against Toni in Mexico because he was calling NXIVM members to talk about the ethical and moral issues of DOS?
Coach and some Proctors were said to have left, of their own free will, when they felt like DOS didn’t fit their values either after hearing about it.
Upon finding out about Toni’s calls to his fellow friends, Alex and Emiliano plotted against him and brought legal charges against him in order to silence him from spreading the word of DOS to more people.
Now Emiiano is claiming he knows nothing of DOS and it’s not a part of NXIVM. Well Toni’s not in DOS, so why all the fuss if people leave NXIVM?
If this was not such a sad subject matter, this would make a funny spin off of Dumb and Dumber – The Cult addition. The leadership are just so bad at their stories and the people who believe them, holly carp, where is their Venn Logic Skills? Guess their too busy dodging Flying Monkeys

Emiliano and his father must be shitting bricks ! So many media outlets getting the same story: ESP and Emiliano knew nothing about DOS, but there’s nothing wrong with DOS because it’s an innocent “sorority.”
Bullshit. There is a lot wrong with DOS. It is based on deceptive recruiting, blackmail, slavery, corporal punishment, sleep deprivation, starvation dieting, genital branding, and sexual slavery.
Every woman recruited to DOS was in ESP and/or JNESS, both part of the Raniere-verse.
The denials might have a shred of credibility if Emiliano Salinas (and Keith Raniere) had said “I repudiate what DOS is alleged to be doing, and ask that they cease and desist doing any such thing, whether in my name or not.”
But we will never hear that. Because Keith Raniere knew and approved of DOS, and almost certainly designed it .
And Emiliano doesn’t have the cohones to stand up to Raniere and say DOS is wrong.
Or he believes that DOS is just fine (which would be an even worse indictment of his “ethics”).
