No two people could be more diametrically opposed. Donald Trump and Letitia James.
And that includes whether children know best.
On Monday, New York Attorney General Letitia James warned hospitals in the state that they would violate New York’s anti-discrimination laws if they stopped sterilizing and amputating sex organs of children and teenagers under 19 who believe they can “transition” to a gender different from their biological sex.
Her warning came in response to an executive order from President Donald Trump directing federal agencies to ensure that hospitals receiving federal research and education grants stop offering sterilizing and amputation services for children.
“Regardless of the availability of federal funding, we write to further remind you of your obligations to comply with New York State laws,” James’ letter states.
Trump’s executive order said the United States will not “fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support the so-called ‘transition’ of a child from one sex to another.”
James contends that “withholding the availability of services from transgender individuals based on their gender identity or their diagnosis of gender dysphoria, while offering such services to cisgender individuals,” is discrimination.
James’s statement is confusing, since it is unlikely that “cisgender” children would want gender such as amputation and sterilization.
Trump’s harsh language in his executive order contrasts with physicians, therapists, and pharmaceutical companies who refer to these services as “gender-affirming care.”
Potential Legal Actions Considered
It remains unclear what actions Attorney General James could take against hospitals that, in an effort to preserve federal funding, refuse to permit children and teens access to “gender affirming care.”
However, suing the hospitals appears to be a potential option.
Taking the righteous tone, James argues these treatments and surgery are “essential, life-saving medical treatment that supports individuals in living as their authentic selves.”
James thinks that Trump is foolish for believing children don’t have enough wisdom to decide to sterilize themselves or amputate their sex organs, and might regret the decision to undertake “irreversible, experimental medications and surgeries” later in life.
She added Trump’s executive order is “wrong on the science and the law.”
James believes children who amputate their breasts and add an artificial penis, or amputate their penis, testicles and scrotum and add an artificial vagina, mitigate risks of mental health issues, such as depression and suicide.
Maturity and Medical Necessity Fuel Debate
James believes that preventing children from taking drugs that sterilize them, and amputating body parts, might cause the child’s mental health to take a turn for the worse. They might commit suicide.
James is finding significant support from physicians who perform amputation and artificial implant surgeries, medical facilities that charge for the amputation of children’s breasts, vaginas, penises, and testicles, and offer robust sterilization services, and therapists who stand ready to provide lifetime mental health services for amputees and sterilized children well into adulthood, and can stand by to assist with “detransition” mental health treatment for adults who chose too early and not too wise.
Trans industry experts know that, like tobacco smoking, if you don’t get children to use their products or services, they are unlikely to do so when they become adults.
If children are not transitioned early, they could outgrow their desire, costing the industry billions.

As easy as it would be make jokes about this, it makes me seriously wonder the state of any society that lets elementary kids decide this stuff. Are parents so starved for attention that they either tacitly or overtly encourage? I’m a parent of four, I like to hope my wife and I would actually act like parents and put a stop to it.
