Game of Thrones Actor Joe Gatt Sues LA District Attorney Gascón for $40 Million Over Vengeful False Arrest on Underage Sex Abuse

April 8, 2024

First of all, the false accuser, L.T. should be arrested and it doesn’t matter that she is only 18 years old. She lied and nearly destroyed the life and career of actor Joe Gatt, a man she never met and who never did her any harm.

L.T. did it because she is a criminal. But she could not have done her criminal deeds if the LA Attorney did not participate in the scheme to destroy Gatt. The big-talking Los Angeles DA George Gascón spouts words about justice on his campaign trail, yet he has a department filled with prosecutors who do not care about justice but only convictions and headlines.

They are going to reap some headlines in the coming weeks and months but not exactly the kind they were thinking of.

And it is going to cost the Los Angeles County taxpayers millions.

Sue the Britches Off Them

Actor Joe Gatt filed a civil complaint flast week against District Attorney George Gascón, as well as a Deputy District Attorney Angela Brunson and other bad actors on Gascón’s staff and in the LA Police Department.

As Gatt says in his lawsuit, he was the victim of a “thoroughly botched criminal investigation,” entirely lacking in evidence, and led by the seriously dishonest and hopefully soon-to-be-disbarred DDA Angela Brunson, the razor tongued prosecutor who sought to destroy Gatt based on nothing more than “bias and personal animosity.”

Gatt, a successful film and television actor who has appeared on Game of Thrones, Banshee, Black Adam and more, was arrested on April 6, 2022 when LA police and detectives raided his home, which he shares with his long-time girlfriend Mercy Malick, at 4:30am.

From Joes Facebook with the caption April 6th 2022 My love Mercy Malick comforting me while handcuffed outside at 430 am while 30 or so cops searched our home for 3 hours Quite soon after this an officer threatened to shoot me because I bent down to try to rescue our little guy Mando his cat who got out of the house I wouldve taken a bullet for his safety

Gatt was charged with engaging in sexually explicit chats with a minor online. In swift succession, once the news broke and a press release was issued, by the DA the then 50-year-old Gatt was dropped by his agent and publicist, replaced in upcoming projects, fired from projects he was already working on, and became a pariah in the Los Angeles acting community.

The charges came from a dirtbag fan who lives in Kent, Washington who claimed Gatt sent her sexually explicit messages and images, but which she actually invented herself.

To this day, she remains anonymous in court filings because she was a minor (16) at the time of the allegations. Her name however should be published to protect the public from this deviant. FR will publish her name if anyone cares to identify her. The vicious anonymous accuser has been identified only with the initials L.T. and it is believed that the Kent Washington 18-19 year old is partly or fully of Asian descent.

Her older sister found the images on the girl’s phone and, perhaps smellig a whiff of money, contacted local police. The Kent police department did an investigation and did not pursue charges, stating they “did not find probable cause of a crime regarding the messages.”

However, a month later the girl had another interview with police, this time with her greedy brother-in-law present, and the Kent police chose to succumb to the greed-feuled pressuring by the girl’s brother-in-law and referred the case to the LAPD.

Gatt had to retain the leading forensic analyst in LA, Jeffrey Fishbach who soon discovered that the purported online relationship between the two was a fabrication written and photoshopped by L.T.

Despite the flimsiness of the evidence against him — photos of alleged screenshots can be easily faked — it took nearly two years of misery for Gatt before a judge dismissed the charges, at the relecutant request of the prosecutors who were worried about embarrassment and further damages for false arrest.

Prosecutor Angela Brunson

Brunson prosecuted Gatt for an electronic crime with total disregard for the availability of forensice electronic digital evidence. Had she bothered to examine it, the LA DA would have known that the electronic communications on which the prosecution was entirely was based came from one source, the accuser L.T. None of it involved Gatt.

One would think that before you arrest a person and destory his life for an online crime, you would look at the forensic evidence fiest to make sure he actually sent it, or that it came from his computer, or even that it came from Los Angeles where he lived.

But when the evidence shows that the sender and reciever of the abusive online communications came from the exact same location in Kent Washington and you can easily determine that Gatt was not in Kent Washington on those days or at any time, a fair or competent prosecutor would decline to file charges.

The prosecutors only agreed to seek dismissal when Gatt’s defense team, led by attorney Dana Cole was about to call Fishbach and obliterate thier case. Had to Drop Case; Did Not Want to

Even when the LA DA’s office realized Gatt had hired Fishbach to do what they should have done before arresting him, the LA DA was more worried about Fishbach and Gatt embarrassing his office than in justice or to offer an apology to the man whose life his incompetent office ruined.

It came down to a court hearing where Fishbach was about to present a forensic analysis of the so-called evidence when the LA DA’s office asked that the judge dismiss the case against Gatt.

Venusse Dunn, a spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office, said the case was dismissed due to “valid concerns regarding the sufficiency of the evidence.” No apology. No remakrs to the effect that “we made a grave mistake and when a DA errs it ruins innocent lives.” No statement to the effect that “this office is going to make changes and require forensic evidence to be made and analyzed before we go arrest someone and  ruin his life.”

It is not a novel concept. Most law enforcement departments do this beforehand in almost every case.

The Snapchat conversations sent to police appeared to be snippets of the same conversations but with different responses Why Because little LT like any good fiction writer edited her work

The complaint says, “Gatt was arrested and prosecuted based solely on unauthenticated pictures of social media conversations displayed on an unidentified phone screen that, on their face, were highly suspicious and facially untrustworthy.”

Gatt was unable to speak publicly following his arrest and was muzzled for two years while people thought he was perv stalking some little girl in Washington whose name was shielcded from the public. In fact Gatt himself was not told for some time who his accuser was.

Gatt has only begun  to clear his name. The 38-page lawsuit outlines the grossly negligent, and malicious conduct by law enforcement, the personal vendetta of the razor tongued prosecutor Angela Brunson, and the hardship Gatt has experienced from being effectively ‘canceled’ and branded a pedophile, despite being 100 percent innocent.

The lawsuit states:

Defendants, using threats, intimidation and coercion, and with no cause, let alone probable cause, subjected Gatt—a successful actor with numerous film and television series credits, including Game of Thrones and Banshee, among many others—to an utterly baseless arrest, unlawful detention, unlawful search and seizure of property, and malicious prosecution in which Gatt was alleged to have electronically communicated with a minor in a sexually explicit manner.  Defendants’ conduct was purportedly based solely on the uncorroborated word of a then-16-year-old, admittedly obsessed fan of Gatt—who will be referred to throughout this Complaint as “Jane Doe” to preserve her privacy because she was a minor at the time and is not a party to this action—whom Gatt did not know and has never actually met, and whom Defendants did not even bother to interview or even remotely assess for credibility until almost one year after Defendants arrested Gatt, charged him with baseless crimes, and publicly branded him as a serial pedophile.

The Defendants in the suit are:

  • Los Angeles County
  • George Gascón, current District Attorney of Los Angeles
  • Angela ‘Brunson, former Los Angeles DDA, who suspiciously was either fired or something because she left the LA DA to take a job at moved to a different district in the middle of the case
  • Denos Amarantos, LAPD detective
  • The City of Los Angeles
  • Does 1-10 (entities or individuals who are believed to be responsible in some manner for the acts alleged in the Complaint, but whose identities are not yet known to Gatt.)

Gatt’s attorney Dean Z. Pamphilis, a partner with Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP, shared a statement with PEOPLE on Gatt’s behalf:

“The arrest and charges against Mr. Gatt—for which he was branded by the Los Angeles DA and LAPD as a serial pedophile—were based on fabricated evidence. Twenty months later, when the fabricated evidence was finally disclosed to Mr. Gatt and Mr. Gatt’s forensic expert were prepared to expose the truth in open court, the Los Angeles DA voluntarily dismissed the criminal complaint,” the statement read. “Mr. Gatt, however, had already lost his community, his acting career and his personal reputation. We look forward to recovering Mr. Gatt’s enormous losses in court.”

According to the lawsuit, in addition to the loss of income opportunities as an actor, Gatt says had to sell his possessions, including his prized Ford Shelby GT 500, just to have enough money to pay his criminal defense costs.

Joe Gatt and the GT he had to sell to defend himself

Prosecuting attorney Angela Brunson is also part of the LA racing community and apparently knew of Gatt before bringing forth the charges. The lawsuit claims that she had animosity towards Gatt due to his politics and success as a race car driver and that she may have been motivated to destroy Gatt rather than pursue truth and justice.

L.T. needs to be held accountable. Her actions are crying out for help but also disturbing. If she’s doing this at 18 the propensity for further criminal conduct his likely.

The fact that she never met her victim is frightening.

The thing is why should Gatt get any money. DDA Brunson was doing her job. If punish a prosecutor you discourage them. The cost of a safe America is that we get it wrong sometimes. But GATT did not got to prison. He got an expert to prove his innocence. Good on him. The system works.

Prosecutors indite prematurely. It’s calculated- a persons life is forever altered by the indictment alone.

They have too much power and zero accountability.

The prosecutrix will get away with it! Like Moira, no one really cares if she was motivated by morals and Justice or fetish and sadism.

Statistics show a significant portion of the female population enjoys seeing men suffer. And that means a significant percentage of female prosecutors do too.

Remarkable story. So do the prosecutors get away with this ? They ruin a guys life. How about LT. no punishment ? So where is the deterrence ?

If you can make false charges and get away with it what stops anyone from evening the score or exacting vengeance.
There has to be a penalty for LT. I hope you publish her name
