Now, a relative of Pigeon has commented after reading Coercive Plea Bargain? Pigeon Chooses Eight Months Over Gambling Life in Prison:
By a Relative of Both Pigeon and His Sister
I’m a relative of Steve’s by marriage, and he is still a friend of my family and myself.
His niece, his pathological liar’s sister’s fifth and last child, is just like her mom. She is like her because her mom brainwashed her to lie, just like the mom has done all her life.
Her mom is a grown-up, but hasn’t grown up. Steve’s sister has had mental health problems her whole life. Steve’s sister is very smart, and so are her kids.
She has a master’s degree and is very book smart, but unlike Steve, she has very little common sense or street smarts.
I’m not blaming Steve’s niece, but her mom, because Steve’s sister, who will be 60 this December, did the same thing to their late father Gerald, who died in 2005.
She accused and called the police on her own father with false accusations on numerous occasions throughout her life.
If it wasn’t for Steve, she wouldn’t have a house, she wouldn’t have a good job, etc. Steve even saved her from getting fired.
Maybe her youngest daughter should think about this in the long run and tell people the truth. Steve should be exonerated, along with having the sex offender registration removed.
Steve’s niece is a good person, but she has problems like her mother because of her mother’s personal and mental health problems. I can go on and on, but there’s just too much more baggage.
I wish to be kept anonymous. I am no longer associated with my sibling and their family, but I’m not the one who stopped talking or associating with them. That’s how it is in today’s divided society, as people use the silent treatment and don’t know how to communicate anymore.
It’s just like they’re no longer associated with Steve. This is because of going straight to the conclusion with accusations. But with Steve and his niece, she knows the facts and the truth.
Steve’s sister is untrustworthy, irresponsible, unreliable, and can’t be counted on. She’s just trying to ruin his life, character, and reputation. Plain and simple!
In this country, not all, but many are going in the wrong direction, including the justice system.

Editor’s comment:

NY State Supreme Court Justice William Boller (above) will sentence Pigeon on December 22 to an agreed-upon term of one year in Erie County jail, where, with “time earned,” Pigeon will be free next August. The terms of the plea deal came with no probation, but a required registry as a sex offender.
Coercive Plea Deal of an Innocent Man
A coercive plea deal occurs when a prosecutor offers a significantly reduced sentence in exchange for a guilty plea, which can pressure a defendant into accepting the deal out of fear of receiving a much harsher sentence if convicted at trial – even if the defendant is innocent.
In Steve Pigeon’s case, the one-year sentence from his plea deal, potentially reduced to eight months with time earned, is extraordinarily less severe than the potential life sentence in maximum security in a state prison he could have received if convicted of first-degree predatory sexual assault against a child.

The stark difference between the potential trial sentence and the plea deal suggests elements of coercion of an innocent man in the bargaining process.
Pigeon’s accuser is his 16-year-old niece, who claims her uncle raped her when she was nine during the only time they were alone – a meeting not sought by Pigeon but by the teen’s mother, Pigeon’s sister – a woman known for making false accusations.
A relative of Pigeon has defended him against the allegations made by his niece and her mother, a woman the relative describes as a pathological liar with mental health issues and lack of common sense.
The relative goes further and accuses the mother of brainwashing her daughter, Pigeon’s niece, to lie and make false accusations.

The man is a LAWYER. If he didn’t do it, he would NEVER have pled guilty. Wake up people. Just because somebody wrote an article saying he is innocent, doesn’t mean it is true. There must have been proof, like text, email, phone message. He pled guilty, so all the info wouldn’t come out. Why in the world would ANYONE plead guilty to something so horrendous. Whole article doesn’t pass the smell test.
So many innocent people take a plea. Yes they are out of prison but life is so rough for them once they are out. I don’t understand how people who lie can live with themselves. That for showing this to the world
Yeah and every person in prison is innocent.
Another woman lying and throwing around the sa card. Women, on a whole, are proving to be mentally unstable as their baseline. Perhaps this is why, only until a few decades ago, women went from the father’s house straight to husband’s with no gap in between. It seems to be when there’s no man to answer to that all the trouble occurs.
HAHAHAHA. No man to answer to! Who the heck talks like that except some dude who has never has any luck with women. I am sixty years old and I have never answered to anyone except my parents and a boss or two. I guess that makes me mentally unstable.
He pled guilty.
A coercive plea deal. There is no justice here. Steve was given a misdemeanor sentence for an alleged felony. Everything about this case ran counter to protocol. Zero accountability for the government. Flynn underestimated Steve. It’s personal. Has nothing to do with the niece–a child was exploited to take Steve’s life.
Flynn failed.
True rape victims would never make false accusations, which makes this girl such a hypocrite.
I just hope Mr. Pidgeon does not end up a rape victim himself in prison like Mr. Luthman.
Thank you for printing the truth, Mr. Parlato.
chomos deserve to get their shit pushed in
no evidence that steve touched that girl or anyone else. NONE.
HE PLED GUILTY!! When someone tell you who they are, BELIVE them.
Your article on the Sebold aurthor is interesting, so of course I wanted to know more. My conclusion is she’s an evil ruthless cunt. It looks like she was to busy counting her money to help this poor innocent man out of the jam she put him in. You should see the sketch of her rapist. He literally looks white. The artist gave no shade to the perpetrator. Here is a quote I found by Alice.
“I live in a world where two truths exist: Where hell and hope lie in the palm of my hand.” Alice Sebold
Sebold is Satan incarnate
What motivation would Steve’s sister have to go against him? If he has been good to her throughout her life, why now, at 60, would she work so hard to betray him?
I believe it is a vendetta or sickness of some sort because no healthy family would act as she has.
Even if the rape did occur, a family would address it privately first. They wouldn’t run to make a nationally televised public announcement to give your brother life in prison. That makes no sense and reveals her motive. But why? What’s she getting? Can she sue Steve now? She’s unstable and has little of her own. Is it money? Did she think the family would turn on Steve and they would give to her as the “victim”?
Hey little girl! If i were you id be pissed at DA Flynn. He promised you justice. You were raped and this is how Flyn fights for women. Does Flyn hate women? Does he hate little girls? He blatantly lied to everyone!
Exactly. He knew there was no case.
The niece was exploited by her mother and the government. Praying she encounters someone she trusts who she can be honest with, and recant these claims against Pigeon.
It’s a burden she’ll live with forever and Steve’s family knows the truth.
Why was Flynn allowed to violate codes of conduct to get Steve trapped in a corner?
It’s the same playbook- they violate protocol and move past it so quickly the damage is done to the alleged person and there’s no going back.
When potential incarceration is equivalent to death, and the alternative is 8 months, you know there’s corruption.
It’s a felony conviction with a misdemeanor sentence but anything goes- as long as the govt gets what they want.
I would have taken the plea deal too even if I was innocent. You can’t trust the system to deliver an acquittal because juries don’t understand beyond a reasonable doubt. Prosecutors don’t want them to understand it.
Then u r an idiot. There were texts, emails, and probably photos on his phone. The guy could have had the best lawyers in the country. Think OJ Simpson.
Steve’s sister (mother of accuser) is a lunatic and a liar. I agree with this author. I believe if it had gone to trial, the truth of the mother would have come out. She has a history of making false accusations of many men. It seems she’s raised her daughter to manipulate in the same manner.
I’m still hoping the 16 year old will steer clear of her disturbed mother and recant her claims against Steve. The 16 year old is a victim of her mother and a crooked prosecutor.
Steve looks like a great guy. He looks innocent in all the photos. The case against him seems political and he’s been in politics for years.
What would his relatives gain from making false accusations against him? If they’re “mentally ill”, did they go through something that harmed them in some way?
Is there “family-controlled trafficking” in upstate New York? Could the mother and/or daughter be victim(s) of human trafficking? Some political groups have pushed sexualization on our country since the 1950s, starting with Kinsey and the Model Penal Code changes … Hugh Hefner and the CIA pushed sex on America in the 1960s … and in the 2020s, children are told to change their sexual identities.
“Ancient mystery school” fans push sex as part of their religion and the “Odd Fellows” in New York had problems with sexual morality. Some use sexual blackmail to control politics and the prosecutor did seem personally motivated in that prosecution. Something’s wrong somewhere. I hope Steve’s sister and niece find the help they need. Maybe this group can help:
