Government Sells Out Victims – And Mainstream Media Misses The Story

Clare Bronfman

Yesterday was a day of infamy – both for justice and for the mainstream media.

First, the Eastern District of New York (EDNY) prosecution team sold out the numerous victims of the NXIVM criminal enterprise by allowing Clare Bronfman to plead guilty to two relatively minor felonies – and agreeing to a sentence that amounts to nothing more than a slap-on-the-wrist.

Then, the mainstream media aided and abetted this miscarriage of justice by writing stories that covered up what really happened.

Let’s start by revisiting Clare Bronfman’s plea deal.

Before yesterday, Clare was facing the following charges in the EDNY: one count of Racketeering – and one count of Racketeering Conspiracy. Each of those charges carried a maximum sentence of 20 years.

In addition, Clare was also facing the likelihood that she would be charged with at least one count of Conspiracy to Commit Identity Theft in the Northern District of New York (NDNY).

She also could have been charged with at least two other crimes in the NDNY – i.e., Identity Theft, Money Laundering – both of which were listed as predicate acts in the EDNY case (If the NDNY ever did a thorough investigation of the NXIVM criminal enterprise – which now seems less and less likely – she probably could have been charged with many more crimes).

Instead, Clare walks away from all those problems with two relatively low-level convictions: one for harboring an illegal alien – and one for enabling credit card fraud.

She also got a sweetheart deal in terms of her punishment:
• A prison sentence of 21-27 months;
• Restitution of less than $100,000; and
• No requirement that she agree to cooperate against the remaining defendant in the case, Keith Raniere.

We also believe it’s highly likely that Clare’s deal included a “Non-Prosecution Agreement” from the NDNY (We are seeking confirmation of this – and will provide an update when we have more information)

And why did Clare get such a good deal?

For one reason only: she agreed to pay a $6 million fine to the U.S. government.

With a net worth of more than $200 million, Clare Bronfman’s $6 million fine amounts to about a 3% penalty against her net wortth.

A great outcome for Clare.

A career-boosting outcome for the lead prosecutor, Moira Kim Penza – and the other members of the prosecution team.

And a totally shit deal for all the people that Clare harmed over the years,

And while it’s bad enough that Clare Bronfman was able to buy her wait out of her legal problems, it’s even worse that the mainstream media – and, for that matter, even the non-mainstream media – did not print one word about this travesty.

Rather than acknowledging that the U.S. criminal justice system had just failed miserably, other media sources focused on the fact that Clare had pleaded guilty in a case that included charges of sex-related crimes.

Let’s take a look at the headlines from several other media sources:

“Seagram’s heiress Clare Bronfman to plead guilty in Nxivm sex cult case” – New York Post

“Seagram’s liquor heiress Clare Bronfman pleads guilty in NXIVM cult prosecution, to pay $6 million forfeiture” – New York Daily News

“Clare Bronfman Pleads Guilty in Nxivm ‘Sex Cult’ Case, Leaving Leader to Stand Trial Alone” – New York Times

“Seagram’s Heiress pleads guilty in NXIVM sex slave case” – CBS News

“Heiress pleads guilty in NXIVM sex slave case” – The Daily Mail

“Seagram heiress Clare Bronfman pleads guilty in New York sex cult case” – New Hampshire Union Leader

“Seagram heiress Clare Bronfman becomes latest to plead guilty in connection with NXIVM sex cult” – The Georgia Straight

“Billionaire heiress Clare Bronfman pleads guilty in NXIVM sex cult case” – Courier Mail“Seagram liquor heiress Clare Bronfman pleads guilty in NXIVM sex cult case” – Business Insider

“US Liquor heiress pleads guilty in sex cult case” – Hindustan Times

“Heiress pleads guilty in sex cult case” – The Canberra Times

Even the few media sites that did not use the words “sex” or “cult” in their headlines failed to include any mention of the fact that the EDNY had just sold out the victims of Bronfman’s mean-spiritedness and vindictiveness for $6 million that will go into the government’s coffers:

“Bronfman, Russell plead guilty in NXIVM case” – The Times Union

I understand that headlines are often used to attract attention or “clicks”.

What I don’t understand is how no other news organization besides Frank Report recognized the huge injustice that was done yesterday.

Other may have forgotten about all the lives that were shattered by the power that Clare Bronfman’s money gave to Keith Raniere.

We have not.

Before Clare, Raniere was a punk con-man who had to weasel his way into the hearts and minds of people.

But with the money that Clare (and her sister, Sara) provided – and with Clare directing all aspects of the NXIVM operation – Raniere became a powerful and intimidating force.

Clare Bronfman is the equivalent of the North Korean scientists who provided nuclear weapons to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

Image result for Kim Jong-un.
Kim Jong-un

 Keith Alan Raniere

She transformed Raniere from a pudgy little mad-man into a diabolical force.

I fully expect that after she’s sentenced, Clare will come back with a vengeance to continue her attempt to destroy Frank Parlato.

She will likely do the same to anyone else who has been willing to stand up to her and Raniere.

The EDNY sold out all the victims of NXIVM for the proverbial “few pieces of silver”.

How appropriate that they did that on Good Friday!

  • ‘She also got a sweetheart deal in terms of her punishment:
    • A prison sentence of 21-27 months;
    • Restitution of less than $100,000; and
    • No requirement that she agree to cooperate against the remaining defendant in the case, Keith Raniere.’

Is there any possible way of prohibiting Clare Bronfman from using the justice system for vengeful and vexatious purposes? Will this key aspect of her criminal involvement in the financing of this racket be acknowledged if her RICO charges have been removed? Will she account for the bugging of her own father’s computer? on the grounds that she accepted Raniere’s placement of blame for the plundering and squandering of her wealth, on her own father?

How can someone so wealthy and so guilty of this type of devastating criminal behaviour, be allowed to limit restitutions in this way? its like saying “I’m exactly this much $6.100,000 sorry for my actions, not a penny more!” WTF is that?

  • It looks to me like the prosecution is mainly going after the DOS sex abuse angle. Clare Bronfman was not charged with sex trafficking, unlike the others, either because she wasn’t directly involved in DOS or because the prosecution didn’t have sufficient evidence. And while I have no problem believing that there’s a two-tier justice system in the US, and that her $6m payout bought her a light sentence, it may also be simply that the prosecution wasn’t terribly interested in her.

She is going to serve jail time. This case has cost her many millions of dollars. And while I claim no legal expertise but it seems to me she’s going to have an awfully hard time trying to bring a case against anyone after admitting guilt and serving time for her involvement in the criminal enterprise that is (or was) NXIVM; seems to me that any lawsuit she brings would be quickly dismissed.

  • Perhaps Clare just likes elephants versus reading into it further. I hardly think it’s symbolic of anything else. It’s obvious she likes animals due to her years working with horses.

  • Clare Bronfman will not only do around 27 months in prison, she will have probation after her time served. If she steps out of line during that time, she will end up back in the slammer.

There most likely will be other charges brought against the entire lot of them in the NDNY for things such as Tax evasion and the State of NY can bring charges against them as will. Clare is not out of the woods yet.

Clare Bronfman will not be allowed in some countries now that she is a convicted felon. She has lost her ability to travel the world freely as she once used to.

Even though she might not have an agreement to work with the EDNY, she can still be called as a witness. She cannot take the 5th. There is no need to protect herself against any charges dropped in her plea deal.

This alone will shine a light on how Ms. Bronfman acted as an agent of evil along side her Master and lover Keith Raniere.

Clare Bronfman will also have a number of civil suits to answer to. She helped to run a Ponzi scheme that fleeced thousands out out thousands of people.

  • Trying to be constructive here and marshal my strengths that way when 😱😬🤬🙀🤯☠️ best describes how I really feel about Clare’s plea deal!

Part of the reason so many media outlets are missing the justice sell-out side of this story is that they all still rely on the same “Associated Press” wire report to tell it instead of doing their own research.

[Reporters can legitimately put their own name on a story they pick-up and reprint nearly verbatim from the AP wire — long story on that.]

So to cut to the chase, we can constructively alert the AP to the details about these unjust, buy-out plea deals by contacting the AP and reporter there who wrote the “broiler plate” story that was picked-up. Here’s who:

  • Thus far Clare and Sarah Bronfman have bought off Tibetan Buddhism and American Justice, both mere poodles, it would seem, to the Multi- millionaire Sisters of No Mercy.

Clearly the punishment they deserve has yet to arrive – but it will..on the sort of ill wind this kind of privileged fix generates.

This is not the moment in history to be marked out as immune to the same system of justice that can decimate the lives, many, many lives, of the impoverished and under-represented.

If they want to continue to rule over something like Despots they should go where freedom of speech cannot reach them…. China? Burma? Iran? Hell in a handcart?

  • I am grateful for the enormous amount of hard work the prosecution is doing. Clare is off the street for the next two years and a convicted felon. Considering the gigantic civil litigation about to be filed, her troubles are far from over. The world will learn what a monster she is and we’ll see after she is in prison awhile if Clare becomes repentant. All the hideous things she did will come out in the trial and now all guns are pointed at Raniere. If Raniere gets life in prison we’ll all care a lot less about Clare getting 2 yrs jail as opposed to what – 4 yrs?

Plus the big wild card is NDNY. They could move forward and scoop up all the additional acts of uncharged criminal conduct perpetrated by the enterprise, that EDNY has investigated and proven. It seems doubtful to me that the NDNY is going to allow all the tax evasion to slide. That’s an easy win given that Clare has pled guilty to the identity theft for the purpose of tax evasion and Nancy had $500K cash seized at her house after numerous witnesses reported the bulk cash smuggling operation.

If Raniere isn’t sentenced to life in prison you can bet NDNY will be pursuing the sexual exploitation of a minor and pornography charges too.

    • Moira did not get any real compensation rewarded to the victims. I know that her bosses had the final say.

  • Clare Bronfman is the epitome of the people of privilege who pretend to be “normal”. Those who don a facade of niceties to fool others, but only end up fooling themselves and hurting others because internally they are essentially the same people who have simply masked their rationalizations within their new context. They still feel superior to others and believe they can effectively treat people however they want and get away with it due to what their blessings and privileges have afforded them in the past, many of which have been unearned. This is what I’ve noticed this cult does to people who have spent any long amount of time in it. Instead of humbling their said adherents, it just twists their latent narcissism into another way of feeling superior to others, this time masked by a humanitarian and ethical superiority (iront). That’s because 1) their leader is an obvious fraud, and anyone would have figured this out if they actually researched into his past history 2) they never purified their intentions and weren’t really looking to change and submit to any real truth but simply wanted their own self-interest validated and/or to have fun.

    • Everyone take a breath. Nice deep breath.

If anything, I think the authorities pretty much did everything they could to her, for something she probably shouldn’t have been prosecuted for in the first place, under other circumstances.

To solve a crime, an investigator has to ask “who profits”. How did Clare Bronfman (or Cathy Russell) profit from her actions on behalf of Raniere? What was in it for her? Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

You’re saying she bought her way out.

I’m quite certain that if it was in the best interest of the prosecuting authorities to prosecute Clare, she would have been.

Actually it feels like a “face saving” measure for both parties.

      • –To solve a crime, an investigator has to ask “who profits”. How did Clare Bronfman (or Cathy Russell) profit from her actions on behalf of Raniere? What was in it for her? Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

        What does this matter?

–You’re saying she bought her way out.

She bought herself out of any real punishment for being THE PRIMARY financial enabler of the criminal enterprise of NXIVM et al for almost two decades.

The above comment makes it seem like the poor little rich girl was just a little tool in a toolbox who had “no idea” about any wrongdoing, and because she didn’t financially profit from anything NXIVM she can just simply wash her dirty hands free of guilt.

Sorry, it doesn’t work that way. That she didn’t profit (even if this was true financially she could have profited in other ways) doesn’t mean she didn’t hurt others, nor can it absolve her from her having done so. They are two separate things.

–Actually it feels like a “face saving” measure for both parties.

        No, it feels like bribery.

      • Clare’s payoff was none the less grotesquely self serving. Of course, she didn’t need nor want any more money but with NX she could buy the image and status she craved among the pure blue blood side of the Bronfman family and portray herself as being an “ethical” world leader more powerful and richer than her father Edgar Bronfman whom she may have been taught to compete with and despise by her commoner mother — would be my guess.

Or just maybe Clare’s a psycho herself walking around with more DNA from her bloody-minded gansta Grandpa Sam — maybe she is more of a pure blood than any of them?!

Salzman Brainwashed though she may have been, Clare Bronfman gleefully gained from NXIVM, and the fact that she continues to feed the sharks defending Keith Raniere and covering-up for, colluding, with the Mexican-Espian elite shows she is entirely unreformed and unrepentant and will more than likely “revert” to her criminal ways.

Not 2 weeks ago she conspired with nearly convicted multi-felons like extortionist Pimp Micheal Avenatti to bribe the DOJ — leaving another, Gregaros, on her payroll still — and who says we’d know about it at all if not for NIKE?! And Karma.

      • What was in it for her? despotic power for humanitarian purposes – a lovely benign dictatorship complete with smelly guru and tracy Island.

  • why don’t you all just give up? look at all the time you have waisted trying to bring down these people. Let them have their vanguard. Let them cauterize their pussies. Let them continue dancing for their master. So what keith likes little girls he’s not the first and not the last. Obviously its ok to lie, steal and rape. Poor keith sitting in jail while all his slaves are wondering when he’ll return to them to rule over their boney bodies and guide them. Poor Keith and Allison have suffered so much. Poor Clare she had to endure so much and is only guilty of minor offenses. Give up all you who bring ill will to nxivm. They are only trying to help themselves become better people so that they can help others.

    • You don’t get it. Once you leave, they never leave you alone.

      Its one lawsuit after another.

One set of fake charges after another.

One house break in after another.

If they would have just left us alone Keith wouldn’t have been sitting his ass at the MDC the last year. Its was either take him down or be taken down.

      We’d had enough.

Apparently the DOJ doesn’t get it either

    • You make an interesting point inversely. The teaching at Nxivm did engender some good. Just like karate training teaches self defence and wonderful discipline. What matters is how it’s used.

Is the activity functioning for the benefit of it’s members and humanity or for the gratification of the ego of it’s leader?

    • That doesn’t account for the actual abuses that are the central issue – from women who weren’t properly informed that they were to be branded, and extorted for work and sex because of the “collateral” acquired from them on the false premise that it was a self-improvement or even spiritual exercise, to the harm done to outsiders and former members that included both ruinous mis-use of the legal system and illegal spying.

And the rationalization that “So what keith likes little girls he’s not the first and not the last” stuck in the middle of all that justification, is actually about one of the worst parts – that’s illegal, and for good reason. Plus if Raniere were an actual professional counselor or teacher, he’d be ethically forbidden to have relationships with clients and students of any age – a reminder that operations like NXIVM should be required to adhere to the regulations for those providing such services, not allowed to skirt them.

  • I hope the easter bunny brings the judge a good pair of “huevos”, he may need them….. They just showed the failure to own them

  • I did said that – women dont go to jail, rich women dont, i kept on saying that – western justice system caters the rich and powerful. Well, I guess the ride was fun while they’re ” down “. And for the last time the cartels are watching and learning closely. This institution is run by girls who thrist for power.

    • ” And for the last time the cartels are watching and learning closely. This institution is run by girls who thrist for power.”

When it was revealed that NXIVM had financial ties to powerful Democratic politicians, particularly female politicians like Hillary Clinton and Kristen Gillibrand, the investigation was quickly shut down.
      Don’t expect any more indictments.
The Big Boys and Girls in Albany can rest easily tonight.
And NXIVM is now available for the Salinas Family to use for financial and political purposes in a covert fashion.

    • Where is there a justice system that caters to the rich and powerful LESS than in the Western justice system? Pretty much everywhere else is far WORSE, to absolutely abysmal. Unfortunately, humans being what we are, no system is ideal, though the West has come pretty far in putting modern ideals into practice.

But that’s probably why you’re here. Here, free to complain – unlike where you’re from, where it could get you beaten and summarily thrown into jail, right?

      • I’d say that’s about right, Anony.

What’s more depressing is when you consider that the U.S. may not be any better bc of its “system” or “values” — real or falsely purported — but simply bc it is a much younger society and Nation than those “corrupt” systems and their predominant races who do not purportedly value and respect human life as we Americans supposedly do — far above our own self-interest and personal gain had at the expense and detriment of others’ rights to equality, life, liberty the pursuit of happiness.

Perhaps, the individuals, families and tribes that rule by force and terror simply have not yet gained a stronghold over this young Nation. Give ‘em time to mind condition, fool and change the values of our youth and the “land of opportunity” will soon be another “shithole Country” just like President Trump calls them.

But then, where oh where in the world will all the super rich Salinas’ and Slim-Helu’s and Bronfman’s immigrate to or “visit” for their daughters to be able to walk outside alone at night without fear? (Now that Vanguard isn’t around to protect them on their nightly walks through Clifton Park.)

  • Pre and post DOS, perpetrators and enablers are getting away with things.

People who were there for years, pimping for Raniere, financial crimes, are getting away with things.

Enablers and perpetrators are being dubbed as heroic whistleblowers, with no scrutiny.

Those scumbag Bronfman’s who funded lawsuits against everyone and everything to bully and silence them are getting away with things.

The trash “celebrities” are getting away with things.

Are they going to give Raniere a gentle slap on the wrist and make him only pay a 500 dollar fine (paid for by ugly Clare of course)?

What’s next, are they going to accuse Frank Parlato of keeping Ally Wack as a slave!?

Money can’t stop that fucking ugly cunt Clare Bronfman getting punched in the face and her legs busted with a baseball bat. Vile creature.

    • “What’s next, are they going to accuse Frank Parlato of keeping Ally Wack as a slave!?”

Of course they are going to claim that Allison Mack is a victim of Frank Parlato.
      Allison is a victim.
Allison is a victim of Free Speech and the Free Press that exposes her many crimes.
Allison was a victim when The Frank Report made her participate in all those orgies at V Week.
Allison was a victim when she supervised the branding of those female slaves.
Allison was a victim when she collected those nude pictures of women.
Allison was a victim when she used those female slaves for her own sex toys.
Allison was a victim when she paddled those slaves.
Allison was a victim when she put those women in a cage.
Allison was a victim when she abused India Oxenberg.

Allison is a victim of the white male patriarchy that wants to punish her for her sadomasochism.

  • How many claim to be victims of the cult?
Edmondson? Who else? Yeah I know crimes were committed and they did shitty things to people but how many women are claiming they were involved against there will?

    • There are thousands of victims though in different ways. Seems like 150 branded slave women but many thousands of men were forced to give their earnings, aka slavery. It’s Frank’s fault for not giving them a voice here. Frank is also aware which media outlets are infested with cultists and has not called them out. He is afraid of the large media corporations.

    • You can’t even guess accurately. You should have made a definite, affirmative statement. A lot of people were involved in NXIVM the sex cult and a lot of them either didn’t break any laws or the government couldn’t prove they did beyond a reasonable doubt. Sex with Raniere isn’t illegal, although being forced to watch a video of Bronfman and Raniere having sex should be.

      • “You can’t even guess accurately.”

I lived in Lubbock Texas a long time ago.
I don’t remember the Lone Star state having so many bleeding heart liberals defending criminal cult leaders.

  • I expected this. Next up, Raniere will wind up getting slapped on the wrist, trial or no trial. Nobody will do significant jail time. My guess is that the whole circus will be up and branding again by 2021.

    • I doubt it, 2 of the defendants who pleaded guilty have their sentencing pending on their cooperation.

They both seem to be quite decided to get him on the ground (Allison didn’t even wait for the trial to start to attack Raniere).

If Raniere goes to trial, I don’t see how he could get a low sentencing (except if he wins on a technicality…in which case he could be free)

  • Talk about a deal stacked in Clare Bronfman’s favor in court, and she got herself a new loophole, too. She can maintain a lot of unwillingness to testify now. A nonparticipant who pays the money. But the look on her face is still the look of a participant.

I wonder if she stays on the ascribed tiny diet still?

She could talk and decide to hang Raniere as a prosecution witness if she decided to pounce on him. She kept her plea absent of information, as impersonal as possible. One sensed no contrition. Her only remark was that as a rich bitch, she should known better. She’s got her smug mask on, but it’s askew. One eye cannot focus in the same direction as the other eye.

So justice is blind and Clare Bronfman is cock-eyed.

  • It may be small consolation but I’ll add that Clare will be a convicted felon and doing not an insignificant amount of jail time. I’m also not sure we’ve heard the last from the Judge with regard to Clare, he may do his part to set her straight with regard to abusing the legal system. He may sentence her to 10 years just to make his point so she has a little more time to think about the damage she’s done while she stews in the can on appeal. The real goal of the government all along has been to get the stinky hairy he-rat off the streets and into the cage that he belongs and where he can pass the rest of his days. To that end I hope the stars are aligned in the weeks ahead.

    • She wont do a day of hard time and we all know it. “Home detention “, maybe complete with lunches off and exercise time.

  • Think it’s time to dye some Easter eggs. In hindsight, this case has turned out to be a small blip in the media. Who cares anymore? Sadly, the suicides may very well remain under question. That’s the most disturbing part.

  • I’m considering what country I should apply for political asylum from being tortured from Clare Bronfman again.

It appears that my own Department of Justice wont protect me. They rather collect 6 million than hold our own criminals accountable.

    • There are a bunch of known and named people who have been tortured by the Bronfman scum.

Are there other cases where unknowns have been taken to court?

If so, have there been more or less lawsuits against unknowns, compared to the known lawsuits?

    • Not here in the U.S., obviously. Still better than Mexico, though. Or Canada IMO with all due respect to the Canucks and Mexi-Nexians among us.

Seriously, can you imagine the turmoil if hundreds of U.S. citizens were being exploited, raped, extorted, filmed nude, starved, sleep deprived, mind conditioned and branded with the monogram of a Mexican cult leader and Movie Star?

…What the U.S. would demand in punishment on the Mexican perpetrators, billionaires or no, and retribution to the U.S. citizen victims? And would that company be permitted to continue operating on U.S. soil?

  • All of the NXIVM defendants who have plead guilty so far have been treated with kid gloves.
Before Clare Bronfman used the NXIVM litigation machine to harass people Nancy Salzman used it to attack real and perceived enemies.
And Allison Pimp Mack plead out of the pimping charges which first attracted the attention of the media.
Moreover, the leaders of NXIVM Mexico like Emiliano Salinas and Alex Betancourt escape scrutiny altogether.

RICO was designed no’t only to nab criminals and criminal conspiracies but also to smash criminal organizations altogether.
In this NXIVM case the full power of RICO was not used to destroy the criminal gang..
Of the top 150 leaders of NXIVM only six were indicted.
And the resources exist to rebuild NXIVM.

Instead of worrying about smashing NXIVM the government seems intend on not being too harsh on these gangsters.
Would the government be that solicitous of the defendants if they were not heiresses and actresses?

From the start I was dubious of having a trial judge who had been appointed to the bench by that scoundrel Bill Clinton.
And then the Judge asked Allison. Mack if he had seen her earlier in the court house cafeteria.
Clare pulled her court room fainting scene and Allison was seen on several occasions laughing and joking in the court room but also trying to hide her joviality by a strategically positioned scarf.

I have said repeatedly that this case should be about vindicating the rights of the victims.
instead it has been about protecting the fragile egos of the rich and famous defendants.

And don’t forget the powerful Democratic politicians like Kristen Gillibrand and Hillary Clinton who have had their ties to NXIVM deliberately concealed by a compliant media.

  • The Elephants on Clare’s scarf may symbolize the “Elephants in the Courtroom” metaphors — the embarrassing truths such as the “justice for sale” reality playing out in this case before our eyes that no one wants to see, acknowledge.

I wonder if it’s not just the money Elephant smelling the place up, though. If it’s not an inconvenient political embarrassment, etc.

Much as I dislike Trump’s tweets — mebbe his tweet about Kirsten Gillibrand begging and “willing to do anything” for a campaign donation from him — taken as a sex slur by some — was spot on?

  • Krclaviger,

What do you think should have been Clare Bronfman’s prison sentence and court fine(restitution)?

I am in agreement with you I just am just at a loss as to what a fair punishment should have been. I was thinking a sentence of 3 years and 10 million.

    • Given that she (and her sister) were responsible for weaponizing Raniere’s desire to punish anyone he considered an enemy – and given that she was the Director of Operations for NXIVM and its various affiliates for the past few years – I think a 5-year term would have been appropriate. But I also think that her prison sentence should be proportionate with those of Nancy, Lauren, Allison, and Kathy. So, rather than look at just her term, I think they should all be considered at the same time (I think Kathy should get the shortest term of all).

But what really bothers me is the fact that Clare was allowed to cap the amount of restitution she has to pay to just the charges on Pam Cafritz’s credit card (I think that’s how it was calculated but I have not yet seen a transcript from her plea hearing). I think she should have been required to pay whatever restitution Judge Garaufis ordered for whomever he deemed to be a victim of the NXVM criminal enterprise.

Letting the government step in and grab $6 million while requiring the victims to initiate civil lawsuits to recover whatever they lost is total and complete bullshit. It will now be years before those victims ever see a dime – and Clare will fight them every step of the way.

      • You can’t say that…
Even if their money helped Raniere, He would have done the crimes (maybe worst crimes). They might have facilitate a bit the whole punish the ennemy part but he came with the idea of punishing the enemies.

But I agree that the sentence is disproportionate compare to her position and the potential sentencing of the others.
She was the public head of Nxivm, she was aware of a lot of the crimes (Messages and mail prove it)

To be honest, since the beginning i knew it would end up like this…Prosecutor Don’t seek justice but just a good case to boost their career. It’s one of the biggest problem with the U.S. Judicial machinery.

  • Agree 110%.

Apart from the injustices, I don’t get the Fed’s math —what’s a lousy $6M vs. the back taxes, laundered $, other fines on other prosecutable crimes committed by Bronfman’s and additional, wealthy perps?

Does the 6M go into the general Federal till or to the EDNY budget in particular?

Also, please answer this Clav for me, do I understand correctly that these plea agreements preclude charges being brought against these defendants in NDNY or another district for the predicate acts? For unnamed or uncharged crimes? What about State charges, are they double indemnity — whatever the term may be — barred?

Thanks, Clav. Wow. Thought we dodged a bomb when NIKE attorneys saved us from Avenatti! Anybody know where I can get an attack pit bull trained to sense NXIANS?

    • Scott, you given a pass since you kind of new to this. Clare Bronfman doesn’t need a real reason, she good at making shit up just to punish people for having an opinion that cast a shadow of trust on her ugly, lying, criminal ass. In my opinion, of course.
