Without passing judgment on whether their findings are accurate, I plan to translate the highly technical evaluations and conclusions of three forensic experts into a language I understand. I hope you do too.
The three experts are:
I reviewed voluminous evidence, interviewed Dr. James Richard Kiper for more than three hours, interviewed Steve Abrams, and had a series of interviews with Suneel Chakravorty and Eduardo Asunsolo.
I am not qualified to determine if the findings are accurate or if there is another plausible explanation.
All three experts believe that the FBI tampered with evidence.
I am prepared to state that this becomes a government corruption case if the FBI tampered with evidence.
Whether the defendant Keith Raniere is guilty of possessing child porn or sexually exploiting a minor is not what I am investigating.
It is irrelevant whether Camila will testify at a new trial. Some have argued that this entire issue of FBI tampering is moot since Raniere will be convicted based on Camila’s testimony at a new trial.
What is relevant to me is whether the FBI tampered with evidence. It does not matter if the child porn and sexual exploitation of a minor predicate acts of his racketeering charges were significant.
It does not matter if the jury would have found him guilty on the other charges anyway.
It does not matter if he gets a new trial.
My opinion of the defendant has not changed. I was a critic before, I am a critic now, and I suspect if we find that the FBI tampered with evidence, I will still be his critic.
This investigation is not about Raniere.
Instead, the FBI is the focus.
I understand that the supporters of Raniere have motives to see him vindicated. However, I am not interested in seeing him cleared. I am only interested in whether they have evidence that the FBI tampered with evidence.
For this one issue, we agree.
I have discussed this with Raniere’s supporters, who were willing to share pertinent information.
Eduardo Asunsolo and Suneel Chakravorty have claimed the FBI tampered with evidence for more than a year.
Chakravorty is a computer technology professional – and Asunsolo a businessman. They managed a thousand details to arrange for the experts and lawyers to get this far.
It is not enough to say that the defendant is guilty, so we will permit law enforcement to plant or alter evidence. The jury is entitled to factual, not altered evidence.
I believe that vacatur is the proper remedy when a government agency tampers with evidence.
Anything short of vacatur authorizes the FBI to tamper.
Finally, I do not allege that the FBI is guilty of tampering. But, if they are, then more than vacatur is required. Those who enforce the law are not above the law. There should be no whitewash for the sake of the reputation of the FBI.
Without losing sight of the presumption of innocence, if the FBI tampered with evidence, the prosecution of the bad actors should ensue just as it would if it were you or me.

I agree. However, the defense alleged that the metadata had been altered on 68 of 123 child porn files. I haven’t heard anything about the content of the remaining files, but if they also pertain to child exploitation, then isn’t the rest moot? It doesn’t really make sense for the FBI to plant 68 files if they already had 55 files with metadata linked to Raniere.
Eduardo Aunsulo is still out there on social media straight up calling Raniere’s victims, ” liars”.

There are a lot of “if’s” here, but everyone is losing sight of what could really be going on.

It feels like the patina of “expert” testimony has mesmerized some people. In many many court cases, both sides have experts who testify for them. The experts disagree with each other. And the jury or judge decides which experts are more believable. Just because Raniere has “experts” doesn’t mean they are right. And it doesn’t mean that the FBI won’t also have experts who contradict them.
To give just one recent example, many people have claimed that talcum powder causes cancer and have sued over it. Mostly, they have lost at trial. A few have won. Opposing experts testified in each trial. So, does talcum powder cause cancer? Not sure. But it would be a real rush to judgment to say “yes” just because some experts say “yes.”

This is just another puff piece. Restating everything about this matter that has been written for at least a year. But there is never any actual content or most importantly
proof about the tampering.
It is just an accusation parroted by three very creepy looking expert witnesses. Who are paid. They are hired by the DEFENSE to argue whatever they ask. If they were hired by the prosecution they’d say what they want. Expert witnesses are hired guns. Many are self-titled as “experts”. And this will go nowhere.
Of course, it matters what Camilla says, if there’s a new trial. That’s your expert. She’s the child that was sexually exploited and in the photos. She is a first person expert. The jury will believe her over anyone else.

Hours spent interviewing Chakravorty and the supposed experts who have been hired to dig up evidence for his cause is about as informative as talking to the cat.
And trying to detach this alleged issue of tampering from the Raniere case is a nice pro-Raniere tactic. The tampering allegation is inextricably tied to the “question” of Raniere’s guilt. That’s why these gentlemen’s opinions exist. They were paid for. Paid for by the Raniere cult. It’s the only reason this “question” ever arose in the first place.
So there is serious doubt as to the objectivity of these hired experts, given the methods and practices of the Raniere cult in the past.
And where are the facts? All we have are the opinions of three alleged experts, one of whom is a professional trial witness. Another is a disgruntled ex-FBI administrator with ample reasons to denigrate his former employer.
Opinions are not facts, even if they are “experts”.
