California Sheriff, Chad Bianco, Can’t Understand ‘the New Normal’

Sheriff Brad Bianco does not buy into suspending the constitution. Isn't there a way Google can punish this man?

California Gov. Gavin Newsom [D] at his Tuesday [May 5th] briefing said to the good and gullible people of his state, “We’re not going back to normal. It’s a new normal – with adaptations and modifications – until we get to immunity and a vaccine.”

Whenever that will be, if ever.

But Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco is evidently not prepared to accept the safety-trumps freedom governor’s decrees.

The sheriff is not even enforcing Newsom’s stay-at-home orders put in place eight weeks ago.

Sheriff Bianco told the Riverside County Board of Supervisors this week that officials, including Gov. Newsom, “participated in something never done before in our nation’s history…. [Government] ordered residents into their homes, closed their businesses, made them wear masks, forbid them from going to church, and eliminated constitutional freedoms put in place over 200 years ago.

“In the name of a public health crisis, our civil liberties and constitutional protections were placed on hold.”

Bianco said he did not enforce the stay-at-home order because he “trusted our residents’ ability to do the right thing without fear of being arrested.”

He added, “I knew they could be trusted to act as responsible adults, and I was correct. As we continue, I will reinforce my position. Not only do we not have the resources to enforce unreasonable orders, I refuse to make criminals out of business owners, single moms, and otherwise healthy individuals for exercising their constitutional rights. I believe Riverside County residents are responsible enough to proceed cautiously.

“There cannot be a new normal,” he warned, citing the country’s “fundamental freedoms of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness…. Any new normal is a direct attack on the basic rights, which set us apart and make us the greatest country in the world.”

In Riverside County, there have been 4,817 known cases of coronavirus, 2480 have recovered and there have been 204 deaths, as of May 10, 2020.

After hours of public comments and discussion on Friday, the Riverside County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to rescind county public health orders imposed amid coronavirus.

The rescinded orders previously executed by Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser include: social distancing, face coverings, restrictions on golfers, and barring short-term rentals except as emergency shelter for vulnerable people.

The supervisors decided against rescinding an order mandating all schools stay closed through June 19. Instead, they amended it to include only K-12 schools. Vocational schools and higher education systems are no longer ordered closed by the county.

No other county health orders are in place.
Now, this is not to suggest that people should not employ social distancing or gathering in crowds. It is to suggest that an informed populace, assumed to be a free people, with constitutional rights which cannot be abridged by fiat, can be trusted to act responsibly without a dystopian government.
Upon exiting the Constitutional Convention, Benjamin Franklin was approached by a group of citizens asking what sort of government the delegates had created. His answer was: “A republic, if you can keep it.”

Good for Sheriff Bianco.

Meanwhile in LA County, LA Mayor Eric Garcetti is threatening to shut off water & power to businesses that reopen.

(Riverside County might soon see a spike in property values for it’s support of good old-fashioned American values…like liberty!)

Shadow,

I have now known people who have had Coronavirus. Out of 5 people only one had it bad. He was on a ventilator for 3 weeks
Temporarily he has lost the ability to “speak” and swallow correctly, which is caused by the ventilator being used for a prolonged amount of time.

My sister’s friend’s father died and the mother had been hospitalized for 2 weeks. The last time the daughter and mother saw the father was through a video monitor. The father died of asphyxiation from pneumonia.

This virus is real. I sincerely hope you or any of your loved ones do not contract this virus. Even if you have a mild case you can have organ damage throughout your body.
*******

I do believe that the states have to get the country back up and running before we have an economic situation 10 times worse than the Great Depression.

3 weeks on a ventilator is rough. It will take a while to get over it. Three months, most likely.

“I knew they could be trusted to act as responsible adults, and I was correct”
No, he wasn’t…2 to 3 weeks of confinement would be enough to get rid of this virus but if there is still a rise in the number of infected people, it means people don’t respect at all the consign and are not acting as responsible adults…

If many states (and outside of the USA, countries) decided to enforce a lockdown, it’s because of the ridiculous amount of idiots who took risks to infect the many by their selfishness…
He is just hiding behind a vague interpretation of the constitution to defend his point of view.

“Any new normal is a direct attack on the basic rights, which set us apart and make us the greatest country in the world”
While I agree partly that it’s an attack on individual rights, I’ll point out 2 things.

Freedom of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness don’t allow idiots to play with sane and logical people’s lives.

If this lockdown happened, it’s because many people refused to take this virus seriously under the excuse that it’s a simple cold.
It’s not exactly true as its contagion is way higher (partly due to the time this virus survives…several days, sometimes)

But it’s also showing how selfish and stupid people are! So, even if a basic cold isn’t too dangerous, it’s ok to play the health terrorist and spread it without concern about other people’s well being?
If people weren’t childish, a lockdown wouldn’t be necessary…the rules are simple and easy to understand:
Keep a safe distance, clean your hands and anything that could be in contact (directly or not) eventually with your nose/mouth/eyes, and if you feel sick, DO NOT GO OUT TO SPREAD YOUR VIRUSES.

People are crying about the lockdown but it’s because of the people that this lockdown is taking this long!

The lockdown is inefficient everywhere because no one is respecting anyone.
In a way, it shows how sad is our “civilization”…

Second point: make USA the greatest country in the world…that’s an interesting point of view.
The reality is that many US citizens left territories because the USA is going down fast…in the 70’s it might still have been (ish) the greatest country in the world but now…
And I’m not only referring to the hurricanes, George and Donald…it’s the whole USA that is going down.

This country defends individual freedom to kill, own a weapon (based on a right from another era…people, low change the king of England is going to take your home!), freedom to get high to accidentally kill people (while funnily, USA is forbidding alcohol for people under 21…)
This country defends the right to snoop into people’s privacy in the name of “security”.
This country is also rejecting highly the immigrant while the USA is built by immigration…on territories stolen to real American!

Don’t tell me the USA is a great country anymore as that is long gone!

“In Riverside County, there have been 4,817 known cases of coronavirus, 2480 have recovered and there have been 204 deaths, as of May 10, 2020.”
What would have been interesting is to know the number of people included in this county…Because those numbers can be either really high or just decent.
But I would say that someone made a mistake because 204 death is a lot!
For your information, the population is around 2.5 million and this means that this amount of cases is at best average – especially on such as spread territory…
This means that the density of people per sq/mile is lowish and yet, he got quite some infections and deaths.

He might have some clever people in this county but he also shows the purpose of the lockdown (which is not even respected anyway…idiots will always be idiots).
YOU CAN’T TRUST ON PEOPLE’S INTELLIGENCE TO RESPECT THE BASIC RECOMMENDATIONS.

“It is to suggest that an informed populace, assumed to be a free people, with constitutional rights which cannot be abridged by fiat, can be trusted to act responsibly without a dystopian government.”
And it fails…because…too many idiots in the world.

This is just showing that no matter the solution (lockdown or not) if people don’t respect RULES for the sack of health protection, it’s not going to work.
Once again, this county isn’t doing great compared to California in general (say L.A., for example, is proportionally doing way better than this county)

And once again, while I agree it sounds like a violation of the basic right and individual freedom, if it wasn’t for the MANY IDIOTS, this wouldn’t be necessary!
It’s not like it’s a freedom’s right violation to keep your distance for a few weeks, clean your hands, and stay at home when sick!

Most people would do the last one for the most absurd reason but when it’s necessary, they won’t!

You’re right, the USA is not a great country any longer, it is the greatest country ever. LOL

The density is low only because there are vast areas of desert. What matters is where the people are, and there are very dense population areas in the county. LOL

Compared to the areas with very high rates of deaths, the death rate in Riverside County is low. LOL

The isolation was required for three very good reasons:

1. We didn’t know much about the nature of the virus early on, “thanks” to China, so we needed to be aggressive with our protective actions;

2. The Dems encouraged people to do the exact opposite of what Trump was recommending, calling him racist and xenophobic, because they hate his guts and take the exact opposite position he takes no matter what, and

3. We didn’t want to overwhelm the hospitals with too many patients at one time. The goal was never to minimize deaths from the coronavirus at all costs, it was to “flatten the curve.”

You’re welcome for correcting a couple of your worst errors, you’re not worth the time to fix all of them. LOL

I’m surprised there’s a real Sheriff in CA. LOL

How did that happen? LOL

Since Ben Franklin attended the constitutional convention and helped write the constitution, he would be appalled that a lone sheriff has decided what laws he will enforce. This is both illegal and unconstitutional. Sheriff Bianco should be removed from office and arrested, both of which can be done with existing statues.

Quite the opposite. The Sheriff took an oath to enforce CONSTITUTIONAL laws, much like the military is bound to carry out LAWFUL orders. Sheriffs have stood up to stupid laws before, most notably stupid gun control laws. If the people don’t like it, they can vote him out of office during the next election. That’s how it works, buttercup. LOL

Nope, that’s not how it works. There is no individual decision making process by individual sheriffs as to what laws are constitutional and what are unconstitutional. That’s kinda far above their pay grade. California constitution allows for these sheriffs to be removed, just like they would for any other illegal act.

No, it is exactly their pay grade, buttercup: https://theappeal.org/the-power-of-sheriffs-an-explainer/ and https://blog.tenthamendmentcenter.com/2013/07/sheriffs-to-the-feds-you-are-on-notice/ Try doing some research before you type out lies on your keyboard. LOL

Exactly, but don’t expect some people around here to understand the process…
Heck, what this sheriff is doing is such is so derived that he might as well authorize murder in his town…why not? it’s a breach of the right to live your dream (for the serial killers)…
This sheriff is an idiot, a self-acclaimed idiot I should say as no one will say “good job not respecting law and order…Something you are supposed to represent”.

For me, this guy is definitely not an example and I hope that he will be kicked out for the murder of 200+ Citizen.
How inconsequent, selfish, idiotic one must be to consider that being careless is the solution.

If “I count on the Citizen not to do the wrong thing” is a thing in his town, why is he even a sheriff…
Let’s make this county a lawless county!!

But whatever, you get the sheriff that you deserve (since he was elected by the people)…if they are satisfied by an incompetent lazy idiot, who’s to tell them what to choose?
It’s also that, the Freedom…
The Freedom to be screwed by a PAID IDIOT.
Be proud, Citizens of Riverside!

Ben Franklin would have been more appalled that millions of healthy people without illness or symptoms could be confined by proclamation WITHOUT DUE PROCESS OF LAW.

No state or municipality can prevent people from leaving their homes currently.

Trump has not invoked “marshal law”.
