Funny. Most people who say Kristin is a terrible actress say it was because of Lana. I can see why in the earlier years of the show but she got progressively better as the show went along.
As a person who has acted before and knows what it takes, I’m beginning to suspect most people don’t have a clue about what good acting is. One of the things Kristin does well is emotional acting. She does come off a bit phony when she tries to act mean, angry, or strong, etc., but I think that’s because she’s a nice person in general and is rather dainty.
Kristin acted like a teenage Lana and it was fine, IMO it was fine all along; her character changed and grew up and so did the acting as Lana. She is a horrible actress in the other shows. OK. Compared to Bette Davis, just to name one of the MANY great actors that were around back then, like when they spoke you could clearly hear what they were saying, words were articulated clearly and all that. I know what good acting is. I’m old. I used to see GOOD actors and actresses. Really good.

Just because you’re old and know old actors and actresses, that doesn’t make your judgement of acting in general better. There isn’t some extra authenticity to actors just because they acted in some particular time period of the past. I’ve watched movies from older Hollywood, parts of many of those considered the classics and found many of them boring, overrated, with a number of moments of over the top and in general melodramatic acting. I think people’s sentimentality and their tendency to romanticize the nostalgia of their past clouds their judgement.

This post is incorrect. Frank Parlato was told by those in the know that Kreuk was still a member of NXIVM in 2016 and did not leave like a ‘bat out of hell’. While Kreuk is a nobody on the celebrity scale that probably only comic book nerds know of, she was the big name in the Vancouver branch and she was named in the articles that exposed Raniere as a child rapist. Her name came up in a lawsuit as a likely future defendant. She was in those articles about Necker Island that discussed crime. She didn’t have to be in DOS lol. She also recruited the one who was second in command of the vaginal scorching and felt no moral need to say anything. Frank Parlato said at least two women asked for her help and she said no. But she pretended to do on television, taxpayer-funded, what she should have done in real life. Not even a little twitter message or anonymous calls to journalists to help free these women. One of them was convinced to join by Kreuk’s boyfriend, Mark Hildreth, according to court testimony. She got a brand and was blackmailed. It is Kreuk’s immoral cowardice and hypocrisy banging on about women, that Phoolan shit, talking about Harvey Weinstein’s treatment of women, the PC television show (which was the worst thing she could have possibly filmed at the worse time) in 2017-18 that makes her unpopular with many who follow the story of NXIVM. It is not good to use one’s fame to talk about causes when you don’t use that fame to help expose your evil cult. Actresses, whether they are big names or Kreuk, do tend to be the “me, me, me” type. Sarah Edmondson clearly loves the attention she has received. Book deal. Interviews. If Edmondson had more fame and Kreuk got a brand above her taco, Edmondson probably would have been silent too. NXIVM did not exactly attract decent, selfless folk.

Third, Sarah Edmondson and other Vancouver-based actors and members who were still in NXIVM when DOS started, publicly supported Kreuk’s 2013 date. Unless someone else wants to publicly come forward to contradict it, why should anyone believe some unnamed source who may just be feeding Frank bs to get their names taken off his site? Remember, Frank wrote that he wasn’t going to remove anybody’s name unless they made themselves useful to him.
Fourth, you can’t have it both ways lol. If Kreuk’s a nobody celebrity, how would a tweet from her “free these women,” help anybody, attract anyone to the cult, or get the attention of journalists. And if she did it anonymously, how would you even know. LOL Or if she was so big in Vancouver, surely someone at that center would remember her being around past 2013 and come forward publicly to contradict her.

Only after the Times story ran in October did Edmondson start tweeting cult stuff, and then Kreuk publicly supported Edmondson’s Vice interview about NXIVM and DOS the following month.
