Rare Voice Recordings of Keith Raniere Lying to a Girlfriend When He Was in His Late 20s

Some of us are old enough to recall the day of voice message machines for landlines.

Here is a treat – Keith Raniere, when he was in his late 20s, leaving a series of voice messages on his girlfriend Kathy’s phone.

They had been together for several years, and he was ostensibly living with her. Well, at least he kept his clothes and some possessions at her apartment.

Of course, he was cheating on her. He had recently bought a home with Karen U at 3 Flintlock Lane in Knox Woods and was living with Karen at times.  But he did not bother to tell Kathy about that arrangement.

He had various other girlfriends at the same [which he also did not tell Kathy about] and during the time he was living with Kathy, he seems to have continued his sexual relationship with Gina Hutchinson, who was now of age, and several other young women whom he had begun relationships with prior to their arriving at the legal age of consent.

This was also when, in order to avoid Kathy learning where he was when he was not with her, Keith told her he had cancer and was in NYC at Sloan Kettering getting treatment.

This is also the time when Keith was starting Consumer’s Buyline.

Kathy evidently had enough of Keith’s absences and his lies. She told him to get his possession out of her apartment.

In fact, she told him he was going to gather all of his possessions and bring them to the Consumer Buyline offices.

Keith clearly became worried since he had not told Karen and the others at CBI that he had a long-term girlfriend.

While the messages are scratchy, we can hear the sound of Keith’s lying voice back in the day before he was Vanguard and had perfected his lying techniques.

Who cares anymore about what Keith said?

Good question. Kim Snyder and others keep asking the same question. I think I know why I do. The entire experience with him was so bizarre, creepy, and surreal, that it’s entertaining for me to look back at the experiences that myself and others had with the little psycho.

That’s the real reason. However, I also think there is some benefit to these discussions because it refreshes memories and invites others (like L) into the conversations. This can only help in finding answers to the dark unsolved mysteries of NXIVM. It also will help to recognize patterns of behavior Keith used on others, and hopefully reduce the chances of another baby Vanguard rising the ranks in the future.

Thank you Nutjob. I didn’t know you had a personal experience with this psycho. The reason why I stated what I did, was because this blog has morphed into a stupid conspiracy based cult of the misinformed like what Brietbart peddles as investigative journalistic fact. Which is a lie.

Doesn’t even sound like him. Rookie Vanguard. The end was very fitting – “I think that’s all” – buh bye Keith.

About the Author

Frank Parlato is an investigative journalist.

His work has been cited in hundreds of news outlets, like The New York Times, The Daily Mail, VICE News, CBS News, Fox News, New York Post, New York Daily News, Oxygen, Rolling Stone, People Magazine, The Sun, The Times of London, CBS Inside Edition, among many others in all five continents.

His work to expose and take down NXIVM is featured in books like “Captive” by Catherine Oxenberg, “Scarred” by Sarah Edmonson, “The Program” by Toni Natalie, and “NXIVM. La Secta Que Sedujo al Poder en México” by Juan Alberto Vasquez.

Parlato has been prominently featured on HBO’s docuseries “The Vow” and was the lead investigator and coordinating producer for Investigation Discovery’s “The Lost Women of NXIVM.” Parlato was also credited in the Starz docuseries "Seduced" for saving 'slave' women from being branded and escaping the sex-slave cult known as DOS.

Additionally, Parlato’s coverage of the group OneTaste, starting in 2018, helped spark an FBI investigation, which led to indictments of two of its leaders in 2023.

Parlato appeared on the Nancy Grace Show, Beyond the Headlines with Gretchen Carlson, Dr. Oz, American Greed, Dateline NBC, and NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, where Parlato conducted the first-ever interview with Keith Raniere after his arrest. This was ironic, as many credit Parlato as one of the primary architects of his arrest and the cratering of the cult he founded.

Parlato is a consulting producer and appears in TNT's The Heiress and the Sex Cult, which premiered on May 22, 2022. Most recently, he consulted and appeared on Tubi's "Branded and Brainwashed: Inside NXIVM," which aired January, 2023.
