Scott Johnson: Amway Is a Genuine Scam

By Scott Johnson

Amway has 2 major problems, and most MLMs have at least one of these issues:

1. The products are overpriced, which makes them almost impossible to sell to customers and results in Amway being an illegal pyramid, according to the FTC and SEC websites and previous court decisions; and

2. The Tool Scam [where Amway recruiters are pressured to buy expensive tapes, books, etc. on how to recruit in Amway] is hidden profit for the top-level distributors only, and the vast majority of distributors operate at a net loss as a result.

This is RICO fraud.

For recent examples, google “FTC” along with the following companies, one at a time: FHTM, BurnLounge, Zeek, TelexFree, Vemma, Advocare, and Herbalife. Make a complaint on the FTC website: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/?utm_source=takeaction#crnt&panel1-1

Although there is no federal law defining pyramid schemes, the FTC has a long and successful track record of using its Section 5 law prohibiting “unfair and deceptive” business practices to go after MLM scams: https://www.ftc.gov/tips-advice/business-center/guidance/multilevel-marketing which states, in part, “Not all multilevel marketing plans are legitimate. If the money you make is based on your sales to the public, it may be a legitimate multilevel marketing plan. If the money you make is based on the number of people you recruit and your sales to them, it’s probably not. It could be a pyramid scheme. Pyramid schemes are illegal, and the vast majority of participants lose money.”

Read about these and much more at these websites: http://www.StopTheAmwayToolScam.wordpress.com and http://www.AllMLMFacts.org, and email stoptheamwaytoolscam@yahoo.com to help shut down Amway and other MLM scams.

Watch this video about Amway and other MLM scams, then forward it to everyone you know, except for current Amway IBOs, and encourage them to do the same. When enough people know, these scams will collapse:

English version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6MwGeOm8iI

Spanish version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cy-O4myeUzg

So once again, let me make it simple for readers.

Amway is an illegal pyramid Multilevel Marketing scheme.

An illegal pyramid MLM is where there is a lack of retail sales to non-distributors. I know, I read the FTC website and the numerous lawsuits the FTC has won over the past few decades.

Just because they have been around a long time does not make them a clean company.

A 60-year-old company can be a fraud just like Bernie Madoff, Enron, Vemma, Herbalife, Advocare, Neora, etc., are frauds.

All of them were around for years, and some for decades, before they got caught.

This is the typical pro-MLM tripe that is offered up as sorry excuses.

The issue of an illegal pyramid has NOTHING to do with a geometric shape or how most organizations are arranged. The issue is that illegal pyramids have little to no retail sales. If most of the sales of a typical non-MLM were to the employees, that would be an illegal pyramid as well.

Another fallacy – comparing illegal pyramid MLMs to traditional companies – is that not everyone can become the CEO.

The real issue is that everybody in a corporation makes money, some more than others, whereas in MLM scams almost everyone loses money, especially when overhead costs, whether the costs are legitimate or feeding into a tool scam, are considered.

I have never said that “people have little professional experience to sell makes Amway an illegal business.” The issue has nothing to do with experience, it has everything to do with whether retail sales to non-distributors are being made.

The college costs money in Amway is also a red herring. If you major in a weak major, and can’t make much money when you graduate, that doesn’t suddenly make illegal pyramids legal.

These two topics have NOTHING to do with each other.

The high markup of products is another weak attempt at misdirecting the discussion. It doesn’t matter what the markup is, if you don’t make retail sales to non-distributors, the MLM is an illegal pyramid. Period.

The sports/Olympic analogy also has NOTHING to do with the lack of retail sales in an MLM scam. NOTHING.

Virtually anything is better than Amway. Flipping burgers for minimum wage is better than losing money at Amway.

YOU should get informed.

For every person who makes money, hundreds of others lose money, so it’s not saying much that you know somebody who is making money at Amway. The point is almost everyone else is losing money. Also, be sure you know the difference between gross profit and net profit.

If you lost money in Amway, you are not alone, there are millions of others just like you.

If you want to do your part, submit a complaint to the FTC at http://www.FTC.gov and/or forward the below John Oliver video link to everyone you know:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6MwGeOm8iI

Shocking!!! Scott Johnson’s physiological profile. Scott is one of the most prolific commentators on the Frank Report and a minor celebrity in is own head.

Question:
How dumb, transparent, and delusional is Scott Amway Johnson?
Answer:
Scott is a schizoid retard like no other. Scott is nonpareil!
I have recently collected some Scott Johnson priceless gems. Please read on to see inside Scott’s mind…..

The following is an example of Scott being delusional:
“Amway has never seen anyone like me, either”, “they lost.” I have proven myself in the field of battle and my willingness to conquer all before me.”
********
An example of Scott being retarded is when he let me know,
“I couldn’t care less what you think.”

…..Then….

….Scott proceeded to take the time to explain to me in minute detail how much more intelligent he is than me. 🙂 Scott said, “Do you have an Electrical Engineering degree, have you qualified as BDSM, SPH, DTF, EOOW, and EDO on a nuclear powered US Navy ship?”
“I have more military grade acronyms then you have, so haha silly dummy!”

Scott then asked me sarcastically, “Are you THE expert on Amway and other MLM scams?”, “Did you get ripped-offed [sic] and bamboozled for 8 years and loose everything you had?”, and “Is your garage filled with useless soap?” Lastly, Scott said, “Have you been Garage Certified and become black belt registered in Amway’s Tool System?”

Scott’s entire tirade began when I said the following to Scott:
“Scotty made funny. Yay!!!!!!
Hey, retard you want a sticker or a piece of candy for being so funny?”

Nutjob,

RE Scott “Clueless Tex” Johnson Article:

LMAO!!!

Scott has been regurgitating the same crap for 9+ years…

….Plus Scott lied. He was in Amway for 17 years not 8!!!

Interesting Observation: The writer of the article also noted the fact Scott does not actually have any empathy or compassion for the other people scammed by Amway. …..Scott could care less, like we all know.

Scott is a quasi-cultist himself; He spent 17 years with the Amway Prosperity Ministry reciting the Amway Dogma.

Is there anyone on this site who purchases Amway productds? Likely answer is NO.

So, that leads to the question as to WHY Scambot Johnson posts his worn out anti-Amway diatribes here over and over again? I think the answer is that Scambot Johnson lacks emotional and mental maturity as evidence by the repetitiveness of his postings, and the juvenile quality of his insults which look like they are written by 5th grader. Scambot Johnson will never convince Amway customers to quit buying their products, because he doesn’t post his anti-Amway diatribes in a forum that is actually frequented by Amway members.

does Scott have something over Frank’s head for Frank to be posting this endless endless endless miserable Amway crap? That 100% of readers absolutely abhor? According to Frank, this amway crap gets more hits than real news, and in the end is it all about money?

I will say this, Frank allows all posts/opinions, even if it creates a circus environment, with no basis and facts or reality. It’s all about the same five posters screaming at each other.

What is that conversation when they start talking about what article they’re going to post? …

Frank: Hey Scott, do you want to post another bull hockey amway article?
Scott: Oh don’t tease me like that Frank, you always play hard to get!
Frank: If you’re real nice to me, and give me lots of compliments I will let you post whatever you want on my tabloid website.
Scott: Oh thank you, thank you thank you my Frankie. xxoo

Scot carries around a hammer he calls ”the educator”, It appears as though he thinks everybody is as stupid as he is. And even though he admits he’s the idiot, he’s going to make YOU smarter by hitting YOU over the head with his educator. CRAZIES WALK AMONG US! AMERIKA!!!!

In all seriousness, I scratch my head …why would a website owner, once legitimate source of info, allow it to turn into a Barnum and Bailey’s event.

advertisers? bribes? pay to post? Things that make you go hmmmmm.

I strongly suspect Amway is based on getting a hundred people in – with 99 losing money – so that a few at the top can be rich. They sell it as anybody can get rich and I think they are less than transparent about it. I do not think it is necessarily an evil to try to bring attention to that. I hope to write about it myself. I try to put in the headline Scott’s name and Amway so that readers who have no interest in Amway or don’t like Scott can skip right past it.

I agree, I don’t think it’s an evil to bring attention to it but, unfortunately, the message is lost when the person wanting to bring attention to it regularly insults people. I have come across a person just like this that absolutely has to disagree with everthing. It’s like they cannot just bring themselves to agree or acknowledge a decent opinion, their first instinct is to mock. Hence the pile on when the Amway articles are published. He’s sort of made himself fair game. It’s a shame really.

For some time I have tried to decide what to do with insulting comments. I have been trashing more and more of them. In fact when a comment merely insults another poster I now delete them. A comment should add something to the debate. I am also toying with [and actually have deleted some] that add something to the debate then end by insulting the other person. I really wish people would be more civil to each other.

It’s not my business to question why you publish certain articles but I did wonder if, with the Amway ones, you were hoping that commenters would use it let off steam and go wild with the insults, leaving the rest of the articles’ commenting related to the topic! To some degree that might work. Anyway, I do enjoy reading the articles and I feel there is a point to them all.

hahaha…..Oh come on Frank, did you type that with a straight face?

Tex saturates every post, no matter who wrote it, and you know this to be true. He is an inciter, insulting, an egomaniac and that is why you encourage him; to keep the “clickbait” going. As you said, your traffic has never been better. Tex is not smart enough to recognize he is being used; he did fall for Amway, after all. Ten years later, he is stuck on the same tune, and you try to pass this off as a benefit to your ever-increasing audience? This leads me to believe you don’t have much faith in, respect for, or mindful of, your readers.

Or, this reply of yours was 100% sarcasm. It’s hard to tell tone in the typed word, so I apologize if your post was meant for humor, and I didn’t get it.

Anonymous seems to be asking the same thing Heidi often asks. Why do you continue to allow Scott Johnson to take over the message board? Are the 136 comments (all either calling Scott an idiot or Scott responding by calling them an idiot) worth the dozens of lost commenters who he’s chased away over the years? Or the thousands of comments that aren’t posted due to knowing this bully is waiting to pounce?

IMO Until Scott’s behavior changes, these questions will always be the dominating conversation on FR. Anonymous seems to think you enjoy Scott’s act due to the interest he draws. Personally, I don’t think you like it, but you don’t want to censor it.

Using the Macrotends website in 2006 Target stock went for 54 dollars per share.
Now it is 120 dollars per share.
https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/TGT/target/stock-price-history?q=walgreens+stock+price

In 2006 Walmart stock was 45 or 46 dollars per share.
Today it is 118 dollars per share.
https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/WMT/walmart/stock-price-history

In 2006 Walgreens stock was 45 dollars per share.
Today it is about 61 dollars per share.
https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/WBA/walgreens/stock-price-history

In 2006 Proctor and Gamble stock was worth about 57 dollars per share.
Today it is worth 123 dollars per share.
https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/PG/procter-gamble/stock-price-history

All of that is not counting the dividends you would have received over the course of 14 years.

In 2006 you could have invested 20,000 dollars in four Blue Chip companies buying 400 shares that would now be worth over 40,000 dollars.

I don’t have a life goal to be invited on CNBC to give financial analysis, but it could very well happen. I wouldn’t mind mixing it up with Carl Icahn, as Bill Ackman did: https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=ACYBGNQVR6GosSWybl0LDUnhzbDNlIievA%3A1577033809164&ei=UaD_XfXeCY2C9PwPuaiw0AY&q=cnbc+Carl+Icahn+Bill+Ackman&oq=cnbc+Carl+Icahn+Bill+Ackman&gs_l=psy-ab.3..0i8i30j0i333.31713.38768..44890…0.0..0.208.1788.1j8j2……0….1..gws-wiz…….35i302i39j35i39j0i7i30j0j0i30j0i5i30j0i13j0i8i7i30j0i13i30j0i13i5i30j0i8i13i30.QeeQaCmjL9I&ved=0ahUKEwi1y_nf3MnmAhUNAZ0JHTkUDGoQ4dUDCAs&uact=5 LOL

Note that Icahn, so far, has won the financial side of that argument, in the midst of all of the “brilliant” financial minds on CNBC and otherwise being involved.

I am probably invested in all four of those Blue Chip stocks through my 401k. Many very intelligent people “fell” for Amway and many other MLM scams. It depends mainly on who approaches you, your life situation at the time, and whether you have had previous exposure to MLM scams.

As usual, you have no points. LOL

How much of that over priced Amway crap did you really sell?
Are people in Texas so stupid that they would pay three or four times more for a product than it costs at Wal Mart or Target?

And the key question Scott is how much money did you flush down the toilet buying Amway junk?
Not just the over priced products but the so called “tools”, the high pressure sales techniques designed to swindle people into the Amway scam?
Was it 20,000 dollars?
If it was 20,000 dollars in 2006 and it had been invested prudently it would now be 40,000 dollars plus dividends.
And that is not a “Straw Man” argument.

Mr. Shadow, I will repeat myself. Again. Try reading for comprehension this time, and note that you’re not making any meaningful points with your personal attacks. You are in the back of a long line of idiots who have tried that tactic, going all of the way back to 2005. You probably can’t ask a question or make an attempted personal attack that I have heard on numerous occasions before. LOL

However, I find that your attacks on me, on a website that attacks NXIVM’s scam while I attack Amway and other MLMs’ scams, without attacking Frank, quite amusing and bewildering:

Do your part and submit a complaint to the FTC at http://www.FTC.gov and forward the below John Oliver video link to everyone you know, except current Amway IBOs, and encourage them to do the same, and so on, à la network marketing/MLM. Scott:
When have I ever said that Amway is not a scam?
When have I ever advised anyone to join Amway?
The most telling clue as to Raniere’s propensity to defraud people was his joining Amway and then creating his own personal Amway called “Consumer Buyline”.

But Keith Raniere went far, far beyond mere financial fraud.
Raniere engaged in blackmail, extortion, sex trafficking, pedophilia and perhaps murder.
And Raniere found weak corrupt people, mainly females, who willingly joined in his criminal endeavors.

Your problem, Scott, is that you focus on Raniere’s involvement in Amway to the exclusion of all his other criminal activities.
The people involved in Amway are stupid and obnoxious but few of them rise to the criminality of Raniere.
When Keith Raniere finally shuffles off this mortal coil his obituary will not lead off with the headline “Noted Amway Salesman Passes Away.”

The retail companies merely want to expand their sales opportunities. Note that Amway IBOs (distributors) make a very low bonus when they buy the “Partner Store” products compared to Amway’s core line of products. This is an Amway PR stunt which is designed to make you ask that question (actually, the upline teaches you to ask that question), when the real issues that should should be addressed are the lack of retail sales and the tool scam. I don’t quite understand why you are unsuccessfully trying to change the subject…but not really, this is what the upline teaches – the person asking the questions is in control of the conversaiton. It doesn’t work with seasoned veterans like myself. That sucks for you.

The organizations that Amway has sponsored over the years are paid big bucks, which Amway does for PR purposes. It makes Amway look legitimate to the ignorant. Again, the issues are the illegal pyramid (lack of retail sales to non-distributors) and RICO fraud (the tool scam).

Never allow anyone to take the focus on the main issues. Never.

Well, I boned up on a lot of different research, Scott, checked out a ton of legitimate credible resources, asked a lot of questions and have confirmed my mild concerns and Amway is a legitimate, incredibly, amazing company. One of the largest privately held debt-free companies in America. Yes, there have been some issues along the way which comes with any big company and growth, lack of retail sales to personal use ratio issues quite possibly with some IBO’s on a global and domestic level. Solution: Make an adjustment, correct the retail issues if need be and move on building the company. I see training systems separate from Amway Global generating a profit margin on system tools, which is normal for any company and there have been many other challenges over the years they have had to adjust, work through and overcome which is all normal for large growing companies. I don’t see any problem with a retail markup, no matter how big it is, since they are doing all the heavy lifting of normal business operation. A ton of companies’ survival is the retail margin to keep growing and expanding. That’s a normal business baseline value. I’m looking forward to helping grow this company, retail some phenomenal products, enjoy the personal use aspect of this, make a profit and support the American way of business ownership.

Well, I boned up on a lot of different research, Scott, checked out a ton of legitimate credible resources, asked a lot of questions and have confirmed my mild concerns and Amway is a legitimate, incredibly, amazing company. — The sources you checked are not correct. In fact, many of them are probably blatant liars. What were your sources?

One of the largest privately held debt-free companies in America. — Amway is not debt-free, that is a common lie. Here is the truth, from a pro-Amway website: https://www.thetruthaboutamway.com/a-quick-mythbuster-amway-is-not-100-debt-free/

Yes, there have been some issues along the way which comes with any big company and growth, lack of retail sales to personal use ratio issues quite possibly with some IBO’s on a global and domestic level. — This is no minor issue, it is the very definition of an illegal pyramid. It’s not just a few IBOs who are not selling, the fact is very few IBOs do sell, and are being taught how to cheat and make up retail sales in a wide-spread manner. Also, Amway has been shrinking, not growing, for the past half-decade.

Solution: Make an adjustment, correct the retail issues if need be and move on building the company. — You make this sound so simple. It isn’t. First, the entire culture is anti-selling. Secondly, the prices are much too high to sell. Amway would either have to take much less profit and/or pay out far less in bonuses, and they don’t want to do either one of those.

I see training systems separate from Amway Global generating a profit margin on system tools, which is normal for any company and there have been many other challenges over the years they have had to adjust, work through and overcome which is all normal for large growing companies. — I don’t have an issue with the training tools, I have an issue with the profit being secret. The upper layer of scum/crust in the IBO ranks make 2/3s to 9/10s or more of their profit from the tools. This is RICO fraud. Amway is fully aware of this and hasn’t done anything about it, unless they were forced to, such as in the UK.

I don’t see any problem with a retail markup, no matter how big it is, since they are doing all the heavy lifting of normal business operation. — I don’t care what the markup is either, as long as they sell lots of products to non-distributor customers. They don’t, which makes Amway and most MLMs illegal pyramids.

A ton of companies’ survival is the retail margin to keep growing and expanding. — You clearly do not understand the issues.

That’s a normal business baseline value. — Yes, but you are missing the point. See above.

I’m looking forward to helping grow this company, retail some phenomenal products, enjoy the personal use aspect of this, make a profit and support the American way of business ownership. — I encourage you to become an Amway IBO, nothing would please me more than knowing that you are being scammed. LOL

Scooter’s posts get a lot of comments but no one takes him seriously and he is not educating anyone here about MLM’s or Amway. We already know and don’t give a shit Scooter was a loser and bitter little man has to keep saying.

Lots of people take me seriously, including Amway. They took me so seriously that they sued me and lost. I’m doing the same thing with Amway that Frank did with NXIVM, educate enough people to take them down. You don’t know squat, especially since you didn’t read my information. You would look silly coming on my show to debate me, I would make you look like the fool that you are. LOL

As insufferable and unnecessary as his banal insults were, however, this is worse.

Now that it’s been determined any perceptible “AM” in the KAR branding scars does not stand for “Allison Mack” perhaps it really stands for “AMWAY?”

Btw, Scott, did you ever get ahold of my ex, Jeff Apple? He asked about you. I’m sure you have much in common.

No, I haven’t crossed paths with Jeff, why don’t you give me his phone number or email? I’d like to ask him how f*cked up you must be to ignore your underage sister being f*cked by Raniere in 1984. Instead of turning Raniere over to law enforcement, which would have been the right thing to do and probably would have prevented everything that happened with CBI and NXIVM, you decided you would attempt to convert him to your sick version of Mormonism. Good job, Hutchinson! You must be proud of yourself. Did you get a sash? LOL

That’s a common excuse the upline likes to use, in order to keep scamming their downline. Those who put in the most effort lose the most money. It’s the lazy ones who doubled the money they paid to join Amway in the Pokorny class action lawsuit. There were so few who applied for the compensation that the judge approved doubling their losses to incent more to sign up. Those who tried hard and lost more time and money got far less. We received around 5% of our monetary losses, which didn’t include the amount we paid for the overpriced products, non-tool related overhead, or my tool scam losses. We submitted only my wife’s tool scam losses to preserve my right to criticize Amway, as anybody who was compensated had to never say anything “negative” about Amway for the rest of their lives.

Scott,
“…as anybody who was compensated had to never say anything “negative” about Amway for the rest of their lives.”

What would be the consequences if they did make any negative comments about Amway after receiving compensation?

Scott Johnson
Reply to  Flowers

That was not described in the settlement agreement. I presume it would mean they would, at the very least, have to pay Amway back for the products they were given. They could also be sued for breach of contract and several other legal terms. The cost of defending yourself would also be expensive. However, just as on this website people can easily hide who they actually are, it would be very difficult for Amway to determine who was making the comment if they chose to speak out anonymously, so it is mostly a paper tiger. The fact is most people who received the Amway products and some who received a few pennies on the dollar for their tool scam costs have never thought about Amway again. They merely forgot about Amway and enabled Amway to scam others.

Flowers

So, it was mainly an intimidation threat, where they implied they would sue for breach of contact. Did you ever think Amway might try to sue your wife? I wonder if there any legal precedent that could make it possible to sue a someone for the actions of their spouse. Since they apparently haven’t tried to sue yet, I would assume there isn’t.

Amway can’t sue my wife (at least not successfully, and then Amway would have to pay her legal bills, because Texas now has a very strong anti-SLAPP law in place), as she doesn’t criticize Amway. I do.

Whether dealing with criminal gangs, cults or MLMs, people have to protect themselves and just not get involved.
I’ve met many smart people in my life.
People smarter than me.
But I have never met a person who claimed to be the world’s third smartest man.
Beware of anyone who makes outrageous claims or outlandish promises.
And have the courage to say no to con artists, swindlers, and hustlers.

Remember the government can NOT babysit you.

Scott Johnson

It’s easy to say “just say no,” as long as you’ve been eduated that most MLMs are scams. The fact is that 4-5 million people turn 18 years old in the USA alone, multiply those numbers by 20 to get the worldwide numbers. Most 17 year olds are not taught this, notwithstanding Illinois’ excellent consumer protection eduation in high school! LOL This is why I ask people to spread the word. What is so hard to understand about that, as you now have more power to communicate good and bad information in the internet age.

It has NOTHING to do with being “smart.” There are a lot of highly eduated, high IQ people who have been scammed by Amway and other MLM scams.

MLMs don’t typically make outrageious claims or outlandish promises. That is a fallacy. They say it will take hard work, but financial success will come much sooner and result in more income than the 40/40/40 plan (work for 40 hours for 40 years and retire on 40% of your pre-retirement income, many also use 50/50/50) compared to a JOB (Just Over Broke).

It shouldn’t take ANY courage to say no to con artists, swindlers, and hustlers.

The government shouldn’t babysit people, but it should do it’s assigned job and properly enforce the law against Amway and other MLM scams. Otherwise, we are wasting our taxpayer dollars. Amway and other MLM scams LOVE to say that pyramids are illegal and they would have been shut down already if they were an illegal pyramid, since they have been operating for X number of years or decades. This is an excuse that is very reasonable and believable. The truth is the FTC isn’t doing their job on an industry-wide basis, all they do is pick on off now and then. I’m not against people being eduated and protecting themselves, in fact that is my message, for people to help educate others, including the people they know and the FTC.

Multi-Level Marketing Is Costing Us Too Much Money

Ramsey doesn’t have a clue (or he does and he’s lying through his teeth). MLM products are too expensive to sell. The idea the upline promotes is to buy a lot of products and sponsor others who will do the same to get your money back. He also doesn’t mention the biggest problem in many MLMs, the tool scam. Ramsey does more harm than good.

Scott:
No where did Ramsey endorse Amway.
He clearly said that Amway sales people are buying crappy sub minimum wage part time jobs.
Ramsey tells the caller that Amway and its top people don’t really care about the fiscal success of their sales people.
Ramsey also said the products are too expensive and will not sell in the wider consumer market.
The title of the video reads: “Multi Level Marketing is Costing Us Too Much.”
What part of that title is so difficult for you to understand?

And Ramsey said that Amway sales people are aggressively obnoxious, a point that most Frank Report readers now understand thanks to you, Scott.

Scott Johnson
Reply to  Scott Johnson

I never said Ramsey endorsed Amway. In fact, the MLM scam being discussed probably isn’t Amway. Stop using the term “Amway sales people,” because Amway IBOs and most MLM distributors don’t sell anything. He repeatedly tells the caller that his wife needs to sell some products, which is virtually impossible to do since the products are overpriced. Ramsey also said that he’s not saying the multi-level is completely invalid, which is pure garbage when he talks out of the other side of his mouth and talks about the upline having a garage full of products. That’s exactly what makes it “invalid,” although a more accurate term being an illegal pyramid, assuming the garage full of makeup products being stored beyond their expiration date is typical. The title is merely the caller’s position/complaint. Tell me the point in the video that Amway [it’s actually not Amway, it’s probably Mary Kay) and its top people don’t care about the financial success of their “sales” people, which minute and second in the video? The same with the “products are too expensive and will not sell in the wider consumer market.” Ramsey does NOT say that, either. The obnoxious people are people like YOU who refuse to discuss the facts.

Is Selling Amway A Good Idea?

Scott Johnson
Reply to  Shadow State

Selling and Amway should not be used in the same sentence. Amway was sued in 2007 for being an illegal pyramid, and some high-level distributors who got kicked out of Amway disclosed information from a confidential study that Amway had a 3rd party do showed that only 3.4% of the overpriced products were sold to customers. That paltry number is inflated, because IBOs are taught to manipulate the computer and use other illegal techniques to make self purchases appear to be retail sales. The FTC defines an illegal pyramid in the MLM environment as lacking retail sales, and has won court decisions and settlements against MLMs for several decades. The problem is the FTC only takes on an MLM occasionally instead of the entire industry. Be sure to read my comment made 6 months ago on that video. I’ll repeat an improved version that I’ve posted hundreds of times here:

Do your part and submit a complaint to the FTC at http://www.FTC.gov and forward the below John Oliver video link to everyone you know, except current Amway IBOs, and encourage them to do the same, and so on, à la network marketing/MLM. If you don’t, then you’re part of the problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6MwGeOm8iI

Amway has 2 major problems, and most MLMs have at least one of these issues:

1. The products are overpriced, which makes them almost impossible to sell to customers and results in Amway being an illegal pyramid, according to the FTC and SEC websites and previous court decisions; and

2. The Tool Scam is hidden profit for the top level distributors only, and the vast majority of distributors operate at a net loss as a result.

DickTickler aka Flowers,

Flowers you use the following expressions constantly: “lil fella is” or “lil *****”. Total giveaway who wrote the above comments. LMAO your dumber than Scott.

BTW: Flowers you look more you like you have a “stamen” than a “pistil”. Therefore, I believe you should lie on your Craig’s List ad and just tell people you were previously a man. I bet you will get more replies!!! Transgender woman are all the rage right now!!!!! Can you say Caitlin Jenner?

Well, “good” doctor, I spoke with Natalie and invited her to be on my radio/podcast show well over a year ago, and she turned me down. At this point, I doubt she will be interested in talking to me or coming on my show, as she has been exposed by Frank as a liar. Can you explain why I would want to even talk to a proven liar, let alone ask a proven liar for help? I’m sure Natalie can hell [sic] me, as that is her future, permanent home. Why did you say “He” will help me, is Natalie undergoing a sex change operation as you were writing your comment? LOL

Keep in mind most MLMs operate very similar to Amway, which means the entire MLM “industry” is a scam.

If it were that obvious, then MLM scams couldn’t new people involved and keep operating. The turnover rate is so high (usually about 75% during the first year, and 25% thereafter), an MLM would collapsed within a year or two if most people were aware that most MLMs are scams. Just because you and others are aware that most MLMs are scams doesn’t mean everyone is aware…Sherlock! LOL

I’m not addressing my comments educating others about Amway and others MLMs being scams to those who already know, but I am telling them to tell others, or they are part of the problem….Sherlock! LOL

*************

Scott,

“If it were that obvious”; It is that “obvious” Scott. Only the most desperate and uneducated people get ensnared by Amway. I know you weren’t a real officer. How a former midshipman or warrant officer like yourself, with a decent class vocation, got suckered I will never understand. You must have been in dire straits. My guess is your wife was the one that brought you in.

About the Author

Frank Parlato is an investigative journalist.

His work has been cited in hundreds of news outlets, like The New York Times, The Daily Mail, VICE News, CBS News, Fox News, New York Post, New York Daily News, Oxygen, Rolling Stone, People Magazine, The Sun, The Times of London, CBS Inside Edition, among many others in all five continents.

His work to expose and take down NXIVM is featured in books like “Captive” by Catherine Oxenberg, “Scarred” by Sarah Edmonson, “The Program” by Toni Natalie, and “NXIVM. La Secta Que Sedujo al Poder en México” by Juan Alberto Vasquez.

Parlato has been prominently featured on HBO’s docuseries “The Vow” and was the lead investigator and coordinating producer for Investigation Discovery’s “The Lost Women of NXIVM.” Parlato was also credited in the Starz docuseries "Seduced" for saving 'slave' women from being branded and escaping the sex-slave cult known as DOS.

Additionally, Parlato’s coverage of the group OneTaste, starting in 2018, helped spark an FBI investigation, which led to indictments of two of its leaders in 2023.

Parlato appeared on the Nancy Grace Show, Beyond the Headlines with Gretchen Carlson, Dr. Oz, American Greed, Dateline NBC, and NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, where Parlato conducted the first-ever interview with Keith Raniere after his arrest. This was ironic, as many credit Parlato as one of the primary architects of his arrest and the cratering of the cult he founded.

Parlato is a consulting producer and appears in TNT's The Heiress and the Sex Cult, which premiered on May 22, 2022. Most recently, he consulted and appeared on Tubi's "Branded and Brainwashed: Inside NXIVM," which aired January, 2023.
