Did Kristin Kreuk Knowingly Recruit Teen Girls for Keith Raniere?

Kristin Kreuk at a Girls By Design retreat. Was she recruiting for Keith Raniere?

Time Out Retreats were weekends for teen girls conducted by [redacted], Kristin Kreuk, Kendra Voth and their Girls By Design.

As readers know, Girls By Design [GBD] was a Keith Raniere-inspired group, led by Kristin Kruek and Kendra Voth – both of whom were Nxivm coaches and ardent members.

Critics suspect GBD was meant as a recruitment tool for Raniere to find young female members to join Nxivm.

As we have learned from his trial, Raniere was seeking virgins – underage or otherwise – to have sex with – and it is one of the reasons he is now in federal prison awaiting sentencing for sex trafficking and other felony charges.

It may be a coincidence that Kreuk and Vox, while they were in Nxivm, were also out seeking teen girls – to be mentored and given guidance.

That they asked teen girls to fill out questionnaires that were oddball and curiously suggestive could also be a coincidence.

For instance, they entitled one the “Sexy Seven” questionnaire and it was targeted to girls from ages 11 – 15.

Who puts out ideas of being sexy to girls that young?

Kristin Kreuk started a group called Girls By Design {GBD] which sought to recruit teen girls into a sexy club and gather information about them. The group was, at its heyday during the time Kreuk was being widely used as the poster girl by Nxivm to recruit adult members.

Young girls were invited to join GBD website. Here are their Sexy Seven questions:

GBD wants to know your answers to the 7 sexiest questions…tee hee!

  1. How do you think people perceive you and how is it different from the way you perceive yourself?
  2. Which of your irrational fears is the silliest?
  3. What is the most time-consuming activity you participate in?
  4. What is the greatest lesson you have learned from a child?
  5. If you could wave a magic wand and ask for whatever you wanted, what would you ask for?
  6. What is the most beautiful moment you have ever experienced?
  7. What are you most grateful for?

Send in your answers via video, audio, or text to:  info@girlsbydesign.com.

Don’t forget to write “SEXY 7″ in the subject line.

***

Does this mean there was anything nefarious going on? Not necessarily. But I think if parents knew that Kreuk and Voth were members of a group  [Nxivm] that was led by a man who throughout his adult life had sex with teen girls, they might have looked askance at their daughters answering the Sexy 7 questionnaire.

Both Kreuk and Voth – being coaches at Nxivm – had already been taught that sex with girls with an adult man can be OK if the girl is mature in spirit and enjoys it.

They had learned that in some societies [according to Raniere] parents [and ergo parental figures] accept the idea of adults having sex with their children [or students] provided the student/child enjoys it.

They were told that in America, society makes child-adult sex a bad thing by condemning it. It is society that does the harm – not the adult that has sex with a child, Raniere taught – as shown at his trial.

He did not outright demand that his students believe the adult–child sex was acceptable but he posed the concepts as questions – [a pedophile 7 style questionnaire?] asking each student to decide for themselves. This was part of his Human Experiment Module 9.

Kruek may not have had any ill-intent when she joined in a weekend retreat of young girls on behalf of Girls By Design or posed ‘sexy’ questions to young girls who perhaps should not be spoken to about sex – from a stranger – whose mentor happened to be proven to be a pedophile.

It is all circumstantial – but it is odd, to say the least.

Of course, Kreuk may not have been trying to recruit any girls into anything other than an adult woman – to teen girls mentoring program.

And frankly like many Nxivm experiments – it did not seem to lead to very much – other than a website, a few girls answering some questionnaires and a few weekend retreats – as far as we know.

And no woman or girls have ever stepped forward to state that Kreuk introduced any underage girl to Raniere.

Or that anything untoward happened with any underage girl Kruek was associated with.

One woman, Jane, who identified herself to me, was over the age of consent when she was involved in GBD and she was never introduced to Raniere for sexually exploitative purposes.

But considering she was a coach of Nxivm at the time, and was being encouraged to recruit members of all ages into Nxivm and that she had put her name behind Girls By Design – which was designed by two manipulative and designing characters – cult leaders, Raniere and Nancy Salzman – Kreuk’s role in GBD and her appearance at weekend retreats of underage girls – does raise suspicions.

Were Kruek [and Voth] being unwittingly used by Raniere to bring girls into Nxivm?

Perhaps a stray or awkward girl – one without too much parental supervision – perhaps a girl from a poor family [as some of these teens were] – whose single mother might be pleased to have her girl go to Albany for a free education with the world’s smartest man? Made more palatable by the recommendation and endorsement of a rich and famous actress – whose interest in her little girl might change her life.

Girls By Design retreat

Were Kreuk and Voth sincerely looking to help these girls and try to place one or more of them under the care and teaching of the man they believed was the smartest and most ethical man in the world?

Kristin Kreuk and Kendra Voth bowed before a picture of Keith Alan Raniere at every Nxivm class. They referred to him as Vanguard.

But did they know of the monster’s character?

Was Raniere using Kreuk and Voth and their friend, [redacted], to unwittingly try to recruit girls for him?

Or did they know that Raniere had ill-intent – that he wanted them to find teens to have sex with and they cooperated as obedient and willing followers?

Not long ago, I got this email:

“Hello Frank
“I liked your article about GirlsByDesign and decided to take a look.  Did you see the blog?
“It has an article about a girl who was sexually assaulted
“and then later has another questionnaire for the girls by a ‘Sexy 7’
“OK – it’s a blog for teen girls  – most of whom are presumably under the age of consent in most US states – and the topics are sex slavery [see earlier post] sexual assault, and a questionnaire by “Sexy 7”.
“This could be a sign of my being a prude – but if these girls are underage why are they being asked to participate in a questionnaire by someone calling himself/herself “Sexy 7?”

***

This is an important point and somewhat hard to refute.

Still, I don’t accuse Kruek and Voth of being ill-intended. I find it hard to believe they were out to hurt little girls.

The real question is one of indoctrination.

Had Kruek and Voth become so indoctrinated into Raniere’s belief system that they honestly thought a teen girl having sex with the smartest man in the world [Raniere] might be a good learning experience?

Or did they think Raniere’s teachings were wonderful and their attempts to introduce girls to his tech was sincere and done without ever dreaming that Raniere – if he had the chance – would try to have sex with the girls?

It’s hard to say.

Kreuk and Voth aren’t making any public comments – other than one single comment by Kreuk that she knew nothing of sex slavery or anything nefarious. But her comment is misleading for she implies she was just a student taking a course or two without revealing she was a coach.

Kristin Kreuk statement about NXIVM

Kristin Kreuk at a Time Out retreat

It would be my guess – and it is only a guess – that Kreuk and Voth were not trying to set up little girls for sex with Raniere, but rather were trying to recruit girls into Nxivm because they believed the [non-sex] teachings were good.

Kruek and Voth spent a lot of time teaching Nxivm and coaching and being coached in turn.  Nxivm was a huge part of their lives and they likely believed at the time that it was helping them immensely – with teaching so rare and wonderful that it was impossible to find anything better, anywhere else.

They were true believers in Nxivm – when they started Girls by Design.

Still, every inch of it smells like Raniere.

A search of GBD’s logo shows two sites.

It is also curious that in soliciting from teen girls answers to the Sexy 7 questionnaire – that videos were encouraged.
Were they screened by Kreuk, Voth or Allison Mack – for the right kind of girl for Raniere – or perhaps Raniere himself?
On one of the posts on the GBD website, there was a sexual assault story.
It was told by someone named L.L. who was purportedly assaulted when she was jogging. [All the Nxivm sex slaves incidentally were required to jog.]
Photo used to illustrate the story

Hi Maia,

As the title suggests, I need some advice. It’s rather a dark subject (and the first time I’ve reached out) but it’s about time to live freely.

Last year in July I was sexually assaulted. I know the crime is more common than most like to admit and I can deal with the fact that it happened to me, but I have tremendous trouble healing from the psychological and philosophical impact it had. It happened as I was running and my head was in the sky, when everything’s profound. My mind was in a delicate and intimate state when this man asked me a question as I ran by, “Why do you run?” Of course, knowing me, how could I not notice the metaphorical importance of the situation? So I stopped, we talked, and he assaulted me. On a deep level, I feel as though I had invited him to do so. Throughout the entire year, since July the month it happened, I’ve done nothing but take a pickax to my entire being. I hated myself, I abhorred myself, I disconnected myself and I hurt myself.

It’s taken an ephemeral moment to destroy a structure I had worked on my entire life, and a year to remember where the blueprints are, but I’ve found a resolution I had just months before the incident: I want to be an engineer and I want to do great things. The thing is, I’m still scared shitless of people. I walk through my crowded university hallways and my fists clench with anxiety. It changed me and I don’t know if it’s for the good or bad. I’ve become almost hypersensitive of my weaknesses, insecurities and my (perceived) inabilities, and it makes them that much worse.

I’ve always thought we carry the solutions to the problems of our lives right there with us, but it’s the discovery of them that is overlooked. But, I look in the mirror and I see the memory and I struggle to find my solution.

I know its a little on the dark side, but even communicating why I am the way I am is cathartic (you know… engineers aren’t exactly famous for their communication skills). Thank you for the opportunity, even if it goes unread, I appreciate it.

Sincerely,

L.L

*****************************************************************************
This may be a true account or it might be fiction, perhaps written by Raniere himself- for reasons best known to himself.

Perhaps he thought it wise to remind teen girls that sexual assault is always possible. Still, I wonder about the need for a purported college girl’s sexual assault story on a blog for young teen girls.   Is the post-age-inappropriate?

There is also a quote from Ernest Hemingway posted on Girls By Design’s website: “The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at the broken places.”
This is precisely the language Raniere used – the very concept of DOS and his sex slavery programming: He had to break women down for them to become strong, to become badass.
Here is another GBD effort to get girls the names of girls who might have an interest in making the world better – which was Raniere’s allure for many who came into Nxivm.
Kristin Kruek writes about femaleness for young girls on GBD

“That is essentially what GBD is about: bringing females together. I believe that women have an important perspective to offer the world. Now, this isn’t about the exclusion of men, it’s about the focus on female. With men around, I think it is more challenging for girls to just be girls. But the more I embrace my female-ness, the more I can appreciate and love men… and other women for that matter. So, get a few or a lot of your gal friends together, and spend time together with the focus on female-ness. And share your experience with us!!!  — Love, Kristin”

Some of this language sounds a lot like Jness – which was then in its early days of growth at the time.

Allison Mack speaks about Jness and femaleness in a 2013 video

Allison Mack discussed Jness in a blog post in similar language. The blog has since been removed but, in the post, Mack said, “Women in Jness have a beautiful opportunity to build and deepen their relationships with themselves and others through the guidance of a profound educational curriculum run by small groups of women who meet weekly to share and explore questions and concepts. The process deepens their understanding of their inner world and experiences and as an effect, many women begin to have a greater understanding of the secret, honest world of femaleness.”

Kristin and Kendra even went to meet girls from Thailand – a country where the age of consent is 15.

[…] Did Kristin Kreuk Knowingly Recruit Teen Girls for Keith Raniere? […]

Thanks for this great exploration of the questions that ought to be answered, and the difficulties in coming to satisfactory conclusions.

As to “Who puts out ideas of being sexy to girls that young?” – my top answer, going back years, would be PINK, the clothing brand of Les Wexner, now of Epstein-related infamy. Unfortunately there is a widespread trend to either sexualize young girls, or at least to sell to them using the lure of sex.

In my observations of many individuals in many groups, including first-hand, members get swept up with enthusiasm for the ideals and techniques, and tend to think everyone, including small and family pets, should get involved. I’m actually surprised not to have heard of NXIVM having a special sort of introductory training for children or youth; many similar groups have something like that.

While poking around for details about GBD, I found this 2010 retreat promotional video by Kreuk and Voth, in which they appear both enthusiastic and amateurish:

Kristin Kreuk and Kendra Voth -Time Out Retreat 2010
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7Ca4HVb0Kc

They even refer to the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs being involved, so it would seem they may indeed have been trying to do something legitimate.

I could be wrong but this doesn’t seem like the real AnonyMaker. If it is than he must have skipped the Rainbow Culture Gardens articles or forgot.

Good reminder about RCG, but I’m actually talking about something different than that, the sort of course that is aimed at somewhat older school-age children and youth, takes just a few days – at least for starters – and doesn’t cost six figures.

I can easily believe Raniere got Kristin Crook(ed) to start GBD with good intentions, while he plotted behind the scenes to f*ck the little girls she recruited, much like Salzman didn’t know Raniere was f*cking Mack’s DOS slaves for a while. But the bottom line is that we don’t know, and will never know for sure until/unless more information is uncovered.

Frank, can you please discuss the specifics of Nancy Salzman’s role in GBD? Was this a mentor to KK in general or do you have actual info?
I imagine that there are transcripts/notes from the EMs conducted by Nancy?

Dear SultanOfSix,

You, the exalted champion of the virgin nymph Kristin Kreuk, have returned to battle the treacherous rascal Frank Parlato and his band of miscreants.

I cannot believe these cowards using aliases and foolish made up names attempting to hide from your wrath!!!! The Sultan does not hide!

Oh!!!! Their ignorance and arrogance is too much for my feeble mind to bear!

How can the vile Frank Parlato again assault the chaste waif Kreuk?

….. Even the naive Mark Hildreth knows there are some lines a man does not cross….

No doubt you watched the titillating film “Time Out for Teens 2009”.

Watching Kristin in her every day clothes and being herself was as the French say nonpareil……

Afterwards, did you smoke a clove cigarette and drink a glass of Riunite Cabernet Sauvignon 1987?
I find the plastic bag the wine comes adds something to the flavor.

Fair well dear debonair SultanOfSix!!!!

P.S.

Do you prefer Kristin Kreuk as a blonde or a brunette?

When she dyes her hair blonde do think the rug matches the drapes?

Have you finished collecting Kristen Kreuk’s special 2004 signature collector’s edition autographed mugs & plates yet?

My favorite is the commemorative plate 95b with the photo of Kristin in a black bikini wearing ski boots in a barn during a hot summer day…
….It just seems so natural.

Once again Kristin has never been part of the cult, folks who where in the program said that she left when she did.
FBI, NYPD, and Oxenburg got what they wanted. Most folks who did meet Kristin said she was as nice as she could be.
This case has never involved Kristin…and sentencing will be made before year is out. And this case will be closed.

“Anoymous for Kristin” is a sad superfan with low self esteem, incapable of accepting any facts that portray Kristin Crook in any negative light. It’s not all about the trial. A lot has taken place before the trial and before DOS and no matter how much you cry, these facts will not disappear. You are either an incel little pussy or an ugly female. Self esteem very low like a limp dick. You wouldn’t get so emotionally involved otherwise, showing up every time to ass lick your “dream spank”. It should be illegal to be as weak ass you.

Anonymous for Kristin(SultanOfSix),

I can only imagine SultanOfSix watching the newly released “Time Out for Teens” video staring Kristin Kreuk……

The candid video of Kristin in her natural element, wearing her every day cloths, must have been captivating……

Unfortunately all that friendly girl power,” I am a regular young woman like you” was just an act.

An act, by Kristin Kreuk, to net young nubile girls for her master Keith Raniere.

Allegedly Kristin Kreuk, according to a Hollywood gossip tabloid “blind item”, lay with her Vanguard….

And not as brother and sister………

…..I am sorry Sultan but it’s true.

Actually, Niceguy, the CDAN blind item does not say it is “true” and doesn’t even “allege” it. It says “no word on whether” and “if” KK and AM had a threesome with KAR, that is, imagining something without any evidence.

Here is a blog post written by Sara Edmonson in 2008.
“So, it’s official! I am starting a very cool new business with some of my girlfriends (Allison Mack and Kristin Kreuk from Smallville, and Nicki Clyne from Battlestar Galactica). See what can be accomplished from one’s bed? Anyhoo! We are creating something very top secret for university students, so we’d like to hear about you and what’s important to you through this survey . We’d LOVE your feedback…and trust me…it’s a pretty funny survey. Please feel free to spread the word and have fun!”

Great article Frank!

Watching the video “Time out for Teens” is incredible creepy and deeply disturbing to watch, as Kristin Kreuk clearly uses her celebrity to rope the young women in.

Kristin Kreuk should have made more of an effort to denounce NXIVM publicly.

Wasn’t KK working daily on Smallville during the GBD time? So it is doubtful she was actively running the site/group, and probably was just the figurehead who was called on by those who did the day-to-day work to make appearances or posts when she was available.

However, I believe she and the others were mindfucked into thinking ESP/Nx was a good self-help program and they were passing on some watered-down version to the girls.

I also believe that KK and most others were kept from knowing or believing the “lamestream press lies” about Nx being a cult and Raniere being a pedophile—because that’s what cults do.

To Frank,

Read this comment from a previous Girls By Design article on Frank Report:

“I was a part of GBD in 2008 when I was 17 years old. KK would have girls fill out questionnaires (usually open ended questions about your experience as a teen) on facebook, and Kendra would contact us privately if we said something that interested her. Here’s one thing I do remember– it seemed Kristen and Kendra were more interested in recruiting girls much younger in age than me, closer to middle school. I ended up leaving GBD because of that. I also remember them both posting numerous vlogs on youtube.

I do remember at one point Kendra was much more interactive with having one on one’s with individual girls than KK was. I remember thinking that perhaps GBD was Kendra’s thing and KK was there to generate attention (at least she didn’t seem to want to get her hands dirty).

Not sure if that information is useful, but I wanted to put it out there.”

Good article, Frank.

IMO you need to quietly consult your most senior sources (Karen U or Kristin K) to spill the beans.

Trust me, those ladies probably know whether or not Keith had assigned anything to Kreuk.

If these 2 ladies don’t wish to delve into that topic with you —- perhaps you can try plying them with gourmet chocolates (a woman’s best friend, after diamonds).

If that doesn’t work, you can attempt to ply them with a home espresso machine complete with a milk frother/steamer. Not many people can resist one of those.

Anything Raniere was involved in is suspect, but I don’t see anything particularly nefarious about Kreuk. The GBD “sexy 7” questions are actually remarkably un-sexy, it’s just idiotic rainbows-and-unicorn stuff that would appeal to the age group and would come naturally to Kreuk, who strikes me as being fairly empty-headed. I suspect she’s actually prudish; I remember way back when Smallville was on the air she had had a minor tiff with the director because she refused to wear a bikini for a poolside scene. Fetch the girl a hijab, for chrissake… she was hired to play Clark’s love interest, not a Mormon choir girl. Who in the modern world thinks bikinis are obscene, aside from religious fundamentalists?

So no, I see no evidence whatsoever that GBD was a cunning plan to snare underage girls for Keith’s harem. More likely it was just an ordinary recruiting scheme. That is the point of having (minor) celebrities like Kreuk and Mack in the cult– to use their admittedly limited fame to recruit more suckers. And as every advertising strategist knows, it’s always best to snag ’em young.

She is smart and gorgeous. Have a feeling once this case is closed she may be more vocal about what happend to her. Oxenburg was in for 2 years, and had no idea what was going on.

…. the fact that you know that minor detail or the fact that it is true.

–More likely it was just an ordinary recruiting scheme.

It wasn’t even that. Kristin and Kendra made a statement a long time ago saying GbD had no affiliation to NXIVM. She said such an endeavor was something she had been seeking to do for a long time due to some self-esteem issues she had growing up – no wonder she was such a target for NXIVM. She initially wanted to start a magazine but it cost way too much money and so started a website instead because it was much more cost effective. I even posted the statement on this very website over a year ago, so I don’t know why this “clueless-ness” is cyclically rehashed as if it has never been addressed.

Also, the “tiff” you’re referring to – I don’t know if it actually was one or not – was not about wearing a bikini. Kristin has been photographed in multiple pictures wearing them so she apparently has no issue about it. If my memory serves me correctly, the Smallville issue had to do with wearing skimpy lingerie and her explanation was that she didn’t think it was believable that a 14-year old freshman girl would strip down to wearing such clothes in the school swimming pool and she didn’t want to do it just for titillation purposes. That is why a body double is in the scene.

Why do you keep saying the proof GBD has no affiliation with Nx is because KK “said so”?
It doesn’t matter if she thought of it before Nx—the facts are: it started when she was in Nx, its three leaders were all in Nx, and KK’s business mentor was Nancy Salzman.
If it looks, acts and quacks like a duck…it still ain’t a duck if the duck says so?

I think your memory does serve you correctly, as you have been memorized and been mesmorized by Kristin Crook(ed)’s life.

So nice Spanky that you made time to post here, as we know you have been very busy talking to underage little girls on KK fan sites.

Actaeon, Kristin is a very intelligent woman. Like Oxenburg she was looking for classes to better herself. Both women came up
with same conclusion, the program was pushy and demanded too much time that did nothing or them. They both dumped the program.
Oxenburg unfortunately had to deal DOS directly, where as it was not there until Kristin left years after. Kristin is a successful actress and producer who never needed the self help program. In no way did NXIVM was helpful to both women.

Actaeon,

At times you make salient points however it is obvious you know as little about NXIVM and KAR as you do Satanism. GBD and the Sexy 7 was most definitely an attempt to recruit the younger set for not only ease of mental manipulation at an earlier age but for Keith’s personal, sadistic pleasures.

The question remains as to whether and which of the female leaders of this faction, which included Kristin Kruek, knew of Keith’s proclivities for underage virgins.

Since Kruek and the others have, unfortunately, chosen to largely ignore the outcry for clarification on that matter we are left to speculate for ourselves.

These Sexy 7 questions have been analyzed by professional psychologists — some who say they were designed to profile the best prospects for more agreeable, malleable, underage sex conquests and collect information on how to best manipulate them through, in part, their hopes and fears.

Kruek, her beauty and her celebrity were obviously used to draw fresh recruits into NXIVM. I am beyond certain, however, that Keith Raniere and, possibly Nancy Salzman not Kristin Kreuk composed the “Sexy 7” material.

How do you know these “Sexy 7” questions have been analyzed by psychologists? Has Frank or anyone else shown them to any?

“I am beyond certain, however, that Keith Raniere and, possibly Nancy Salzman not Kristin Kreuk composed the “Sexy 7” material.”

That makes it worse. The two criminals creating the questions for Kreuk to present as her own. Total and deliberate dishonesty.

The College Survey questions most likely were written by the pedo-cunt too.

About the Author

Frank Parlato is an investigative journalist.

His work has been cited in hundreds of news outlets, like The New York Times, The Daily Mail, VICE News, CBS News, Fox News, New York Post, New York Daily News, Oxygen, Rolling Stone, People Magazine, The Sun, The Times of London, CBS Inside Edition, among many others in all five continents.

His work to expose and take down NXIVM is featured in books like “Captive” by Catherine Oxenberg, “Scarred” by Sarah Edmonson, “The Program” by Toni Natalie, and “NXIVM. La Secta Que Sedujo al Poder en México” by Juan Alberto Vasquez.

Parlato has been prominently featured on HBO’s docuseries “The Vow” and was the lead investigator and coordinating producer for Investigation Discovery’s “The Lost Women of NXIVM.” Parlato was also credited in the Starz docuseries "Seduced" for saving 'slave' women from being branded and escaping the sex-slave cult known as DOS.

Additionally, Parlato’s coverage of the group OneTaste, starting in 2018, helped spark an FBI investigation, which led to indictments of two of its leaders in 2023.

Parlato appeared on the Nancy Grace Show, Beyond the Headlines with Gretchen Carlson, Dr. Oz, American Greed, Dateline NBC, and NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, where Parlato conducted the first-ever interview with Keith Raniere after his arrest. This was ironic, as many credit Parlato as one of the primary architects of his arrest and the cratering of the cult he founded.

Parlato is a consulting producer and appears in TNT's The Heiress and the Sex Cult, which premiered on May 22, 2022. Most recently, he consulted and appeared on Tubi's "Branded and Brainwashed: Inside NXIVM," which aired January, 2023.
