On the topic of voyeuristic, salacious sex headlines — Nancy Grace slams Allison Mack while all the other pimp mamas — starting with Nancy and Lauren Salzman — are downplayed or pitied?!
Ally was not only a late-comer but was, IMO, far more susceptible to being puppeteered due to many factors:
– Ally’s child star status. She’s been taking direction and “role-playing” nearly her entire life. She had no real identity of her own to fall back on.
– Ally’s need to please. In her case, this became, was made, a “survival” need. Starved, sleep-deprived, etc. as she was, she fell further and further into the trap of subjugation just to stay alive.
– Her lack of education. Ally didn’t have the tools or information to make sense of her situation as she was being brutally manipulated. Has she ever even heard of Pavlov?
– Her trusting, kind nature. Because she did not have it in her “authentically,” IMO, to be cruel and calculating, she couldn’t fathom that anyone else was capable of such, or to what end.
– Ally’s family dynamics. She hails from a show biz family that pinned their hopes of fame and fortune on Ally and her early success her older show biz siblings (especially her sister — notably a lesbian) had not achieved.
There are many other nuances to be considered before anyone judges Allison Mack against the other participants in this drama.
What most disturbs me is that even now, Ally is still DEFENSELESS against this kind of stone-throwing. Where is Ally’s publicist to call Grace demanding a rebuttal, an expert opinion? Where’s her Bronfman or Salinas paid Miami shark lawyer to slap a defamation suit on Nancy Grace’s producers?
And, perhaps most significantly, where’s Kristin Kreuk and her “victim” India Oxenberg — all her “empowered” friends to stand by her now?
Ally is still taking the fall just as she was expertly set up to do from at least the moment she landed at Necker Island, getting the Royal treatment in the company of Mexico’s would-be Royals, Alex Betancourt and Emiliano Salinas, and a host of other users?
One more thing, who did all the hair, make-up, costuming, lighting, set, sound for the KAR [Keith Alan Raniere] YouTube interviews?
Why weren’t any Mexican girls featured in those vignettes?

I would agree. She’s as culpable as Raniere. She had full knowledge of what she was doing.
Who cares what someone like Nancy Grace says, but this dribble is full of nonsensical statements which seems to be a pattern when it comes to Heidi rhapsodizing about her dream version of Allison Mack. And Allison obviously isn’t defenseless and doesn’t need to hire a publicist (assuming she could even afford one at this point) when she has Heidi Hutchinson and Frank Parlato constantly popping up to defend and excuse her behavior. Luckily for Allison, she was born white, blonde, and heterosexual (faux, scam marriage to Nicki Clyne aside) or it’s doubtful, giving their posting history, that either Frank or Heidi would be taking the time to champion the poor straight white girl.
And speaking of Nicki Clyne, where is she and why isn’t she standing by her spouse in her greatest moment of need? Why hasn’t she stepped forward to publicly defend the honor of the woefully misconstrued, in Heidi’s mind, defenseless Allison Mack? Mack reportedly worshiped Barbara Bouchey and couldn’t stop talking about her for three years and entrusted her with all her money. Barbara , I’m ready for my close-up, Bouchey will readily talk up Raniere, but when it comes to Mack???? What about former members Allison recruited. Have any come forward to defend her? Perhaps if the only people willing to defend Allison are ones who’ve never met her or only interacted with her briefly, that should tell you something about what kind of person she allowed herself to be.
On May 13, 2019, trial witness Mark Vicente described a conversation where he expressed concern to Keith about Allison Mack, that she looked “horrible”, and “broken.” Vicente testified that Keith response was, “Well, I’m trying to break her.”
I do not agree with Nancy Grace. Allison, while not blameless herself, should not serve the same prison time as Keith Raniere.
It’s understandable that AM could be deemed a victim of KR, but that doesn’t excuse or dismiss her own behaviour. She bought into his version of Utopia, and she was happy to be close to the “king”. For a moment, get on the Utopian train with her. Imagine who AM would be if KR’s version of reality had of actually occurred? She’s already shown the kind of “slavemaster” she would be on a minor level, can you imagine her with 100 slaves…? 200…? Would she somehow develop a kinder, gentler way to manipulate her slaves into having sex with the “king” ? What happens to collateral when the “king” gets tired of magnified labia shots, and bullshit incest stories? The brainwashing put her in the position(s) to make choices that a normal life wouldn’t have to consider, but it didn’t make her become a sadist! She did that by herself! Her style, her flavour!
These people took a few courses in self-help, and were inspired by “changing the world” with this ideology. At what point on the path to enlightenment, (with “the most ethical man in the world”) does it require you to sub-humanize others? Whether it’s using them as a “fuck toy”, or cleaning your house and running errands….it’s all still “using” unless there’s fair exchange, and goes against the “we are one”, kumbaya of the new age. How on earth does holding someone hostage with collateral become a tool for enlightenment?
They will cry, faint and have breakdowns…too bad, so sad…these reactions are because they KNEW it was wrong and they didn’t listen to themselves! They put ALL their faith in a sociopath’s basket and became the worst versions of themselves. Now it’s time to pay the piper….after all…there are no victims, right?

A grand jury indicted her on 7 counts. When she went before the court after making a deal to plead guilty to just some of them, including the multiple predicate acts of one of those, her allocution had to include specific admissions and explanations of her guilt for all the acts involved, to the satisfaction of the judge that she was being truthful and taking responsibility.
Normally, without some of the country’s best and most expensive attorneys defending her, she would have fared far worse for what she was involved in.
On the new piece about Mack, I briefly listed all the charges against her – and it’s worth noting that on many of them, just she and Raniere were listed, demonstrating her leading role as his henchwoman. I guess now I’ll have to go through her allocution and find the quotes where she explicitly admits and explains her guilt for her crimes.

I agree with Heidi’s key points.
However, I believe Allison Mack should still be held accountable for her actions. She should be punished.
It’s hard to reconcile Allison’s victim hood alongside her villainous actions, such as collecting collateral, grooming female slaves, and recruiting future slaves with zeal.
I am not without some sympathy for her and I do believe she was used as a lightning rod of sorts.

I read the Part 8 Keith Raniere/Cami texts and became incensed….
Allison Mack deserves about 2 years. At least a year. Mack did at one point use the collateral as blackmail even if it was done at Raniere’s bidding.
I feel compassion for Allison Mack.
I believe she was manipulated just as bad as Patty Hearst.
I do not believe Allison is a threat to society and she should not do more than 2 years.

She could have mentioned Mack because Nancy Grace probably never heard of the other women and wouldn’t remember their names. Allison Mack used to be famous, so Nancy Grace can get attention by mentioning her name.
It’s not a subject for a media huckster like Nancy Grace to determine what punishment is appropriate for Allison Mack. I get the impression that this woman may have much deeper emotional and developmental problems that prevented her from using common sense and value judgement that most of us aquire in the course of growing up. It would be wrong and unfair to not have her evaluated by professional mental health people. It remains to be seen if she is not a manipulated person who was drawn into this situation.
Get your facts straight. Her sister is 10 years younger than she is and her sexual orientation has nothing to do with this case.

What? Her father is an opera singer. Associated with the LA Philharmonic, I believe. “Show biz family” makes it sound like her parents are desperate impresarios and she grew up living in a succession of seedy residential motels one missed rent payment away from being homeless. Her mother’s house– which provided security for Ally’s bail– is valued at a cool $5 million. Evidently she grew up in a highly cultured, well to do, stable family. If there’s any evidence that she was pressured into acting as a kid, I’d like to see it; as far as I know, it was always her dream to be an actor, and she got to live her dream.

She’s a high school graduate. This came out in open court during her allocution. If she never went to college, that was her choice; she certainly had every opportunity. When Smallville ended she had plenty of time on her hands (filming only took part of the year anyway) and she most certainly had the money; she made millions in her decade long run with that network show. Instead, she chose to follow her guru Keith Raniere for her path to wisdom. Not that a college education helps keep people from being naive fools. They don’t teach common sense at university.

The Ally who forced her slaves to strip naked and photographed them, who told one of them she “had a nice cunt”, who mocked one of them for being upset at this cruel humiliation, who sneeringly told one of her slaves she had her “permission to enjoy it” after coercing her into having sex with Raniere, she does not seem at all kind to me. And the fact that she carefully, dutifully, and thoroughly collected blackmail materiel on her DOS slaves rather explodes the notion that she was at all trusting.

She did these two things on set. I think she knew the difference between being on set and real life. Oh, they’re different, they aren’t allowed to be normal people, they’re so sensitive, poor dears. No, I don’t buy it. Everybody’s special, everybody’s got an excuse. Some actors are miserable, some are drunks, some can’t cope. Just like the regular population.

Ally is in no position to demand retractions or rebuttals, and she will be charging no-one with defamation. Ally has other things to occupy her mind, like how she will survive the next years in prison.

Taking the fall? For whom? Rainiere? He’s going to prison too, likely for the rest of his life. Nobody took the fall for him, he took it himself. Fell right on his face. Au contraire, our Ally got off rather lightly, considering. The Feds had her on the extremely serious charge of sex trafficking, they let her plead guilty on two lesser counts and mercifully dropped the big charge. I think this is just, since Mack probably poses no threat to the public, she had no prior brushes with the law, and isn’t the massive asshole Raniere is.
Finally, there’s the “why Ally? What about the others?” argument.
Lots of reasons. First, the criminal’s plaint that other people do worse and get away with it is specious. It’s best answered with “because you got caught, dumbass.” The Feds had the goods on Miss Mack, either through ill luck or her own stupidity in preserving cell phone records and audio of her discussing torture-branding ceremonies with her criminal mastermind friend and guru. Maybe because she was late getting on the plea-deal bus (and that was her own damn fault). Or maybe it’s just because she was such a valuable lieutenant in Raniere’s criminal enterprise, and central to DOS, the core of the rotten apple that was Nxivm.

Everyone involved in this cult had a troubled childhood. KAR was likely incested by his alcoholic mother and who knows what other trauma the rest were trying to work through. Did you ever read about Charles Manson’s childhood? If anyone is going to get a free pass for bad parenting… his mother teaching him burglary at age 5. I think the Marquis de Sade had difficulties as a child, same with Jack the Ripper… raised very badly. I can even begin to tell you about the family dynamics that went on in the Ted Bundy household.

I agree with you. Lots of factors lead Allison down this path. Luckily, she has the rest of her life to grow from this experience. I believe there was one video chat where Keith and Allison were talking and Keith offered up a hypothetical situation whereas, how would Allison feel had she spectacularly bombed on stage as an actress. He was trying to delineate the difference between Allison the person from Allison the actress. However, in this case, Allison the person bombed on the same world stage as Keith joked about. Also, I don’t think Allison’s lack of a higher education has anything do to with her falling into Keith’s evil clutches. Many in Keith’s harem had college degrees. It boils down to insecurity, lack of self esteem, and wanting to find a higher purpose in life to become a better person. I’ve said it before, but all the women that became part of the inner workings of NXIVM all went in with pure intentions and Keith squashed them psychologically.
