Allison Christin Mack (born July 29, 1982) rose through the Nxivm ranks because she enjoyed the attention, power and control she accumulated along the way.
She was made to feel important — and was willing to do whatever it took to keep feeling that way.
She was instrumental in recruiting, then coercing dozens of young women into having sex with her master, Keith Alan Raniere. These women included India Oxenberg.
It’s not really a question of whether or not she deserves the same amount of years behind bars as her master, Raniere. She doesn’t.
But she also was a master/madam/pimp or whatever term you prefer.
Mack was in the NXIVM inner circle nearly a decade, taking part in the plotting, scheming, extorting, and demeaning of other human beings along the way.
These are criminal, often inhumane acts.
Don’t sugarcoat what she did just because she pulls the little innocent girl act when it’s convenient like a page out of a TV script.
She’s a grown woman — albeit not very educated, extremely naive, and comes off as a self-absorbed person of privilege. She deserves jail time (5-7 years seems fair and reasonable).
Those cauterized brands will last a lifetime on the skin and in the emotional psyches of the women she duped and manipulated for her own benefit.
She ruined her own life by making foolish choices and ignoring huge red flags simply to serve her own ego, or to protect herself from her own collateral release. Not much ethical integrity in that choice is there? She ain’t no Joan of Arc that’s for sure.
I once told her she was in a cult.
She called it her “family” despite the mountain of evidence to the contrary.
I guess believing the truth would have left her to grapple with the reality of the utter waste of her life.
Some people go on living the lie because it serves them better. Maybe time in prison will help her sort out fantasy from reality – and she can wake up and salvage what life she has left.
I don’t know for sure, but maybe the values instilled during her upbringing set her up to be an easier mark to preyed upon for life.
I only hope that some of the particularly sociopathic NXIVM recruiters, like Esther Carlson, get what’s due them, too. Shut this evil enterprise down by punishing those who kept it going for decades (and probably hope it will continue). May justice be swift and served.

Niceguy – I was thinking the same thing. Some NXIVM parents seem to be lacking in parental emotions. In this continued debate over whether Allison Mack is good but naive or evil, we should look at her collateral which would not only have destroyed her existing family but also agreed to hand over her future children to Raniere. At best, any son would have been subjected to Rainbow Cultural Garden. And with Raniere’s views on adult/child sex and incest, taught in Jness, what may a daughter have endured? Would anyone have trusted Allison to protect her child? I certainly wouldn’t!

She was NOT coercing, she didn’t had that power, Nicole clearly stated that Allison didn’t threaten her but it was Raniere.

The trial clearly state that India was the master of Jayes and even thou Jayes tried to change the testimony, in court, she confirmed this by showing how little she had contact with Allison.

Let me ask you this question: If Allison Mack is such an innocent, powerless victim, why was she among those arrested? That would seem to differentiate her from some of the other players in the eyes of law enforcement.
She was involved way before 2013. Maybe she hadn’t reached the “let’s brand other women” stage, but she was part of the NXIVM Board and took part in the Necker Island strategic planning session for a criminal enterprise disguising itself as a humanitarian training corporation.
I hope NYS and/or the Feds continue to look for evidence of tax fraud, money laundering, and other illegal stuff that may be less interesting than human trafficking, but would still be criminal. Now that Raniere is locked up, they may let all that go I suppose. Doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
I sincerely hope Allison Mack does prison time, grows up, heals, and finds her way back to the real world to atone for the major damage she has caused to others. Maybe she could use her notoriety to help shut down other cults? Redemption is always in reach for those who conquer their denial.

And it isn’t “fake news” to say she recruited dozens of young women into the cult. She had a DOS slave pod, and before that was hitting up ComicCons, using social media, and other such fan-oriented venues for over a decade to lure people in. The goal was to make $ and build Keith’s harem. If she only brought in 1 or 2 girls, I doubt she would have elevated herself within the cult’s inner circle. Critical thinking is an important life skill to acquire.

I consider she paid enough…She lost everything while being a victim and she already spent 1year + in ‘custody’…I remind that Judge Garaufis himself said that for him “hpme detention” is the same as prison…(he said that around september 2018)
She committed 1 crime on 1 victim… If they didn’t made it a RICO case, this would mean a potential of 2 years max…Seeing that she was herself a victim of the same crime she committed (therefor, she was coerced to do it), The sentence would have been a probation.
And let it be clear, Rico case or not, Allison was not deep enough in the “crime enterprise” to be concerned by the RICO statement.
She was collateralized and collected the collateral. No other crime were committed by her.

I think Salzman was kept in the dark about DOS, especially the cauterizing. There was a LOT of compartmentalizing going on, from numerous perspectives. One of Raniere’s many fatal flaws is he didn’t realize how entrenched the female gossip/rumor mill is, and it’s actually surprising to me that NXIVM lasted as long as it did.
Not DOS, per se, but the whole harem and Raniere’s manipulation of the vast majority of women in the Halfmoon community, including the volleyball/Vanguard worshipping at the Sports Barn.

Prefect surely kept tabs on most everything and heard the rumor-mill. It is almost laughable to think she never suspected the relationship between Lauren and Vanguard.
