Breaking News: Magistrate Scanlon denies suppression of evidence for Raniere and Bronfman

digital capture

Breaking News: Magistrate Judge Vera M. Scanlon has recommended that all of the contested evidence be deemed admissible. Her “Report & Recommendations” was filed under seal last week.

Her reasons for denial are under seal, but we know the decision – she denied their motions to suppress certain evidence the DOJ plans to use against them.

Damning evidence.

It seem now more likely than ever that all the defendants – including The Vanguard himself – may end up taking plea deals.

And there will be no trial.

The defense can appeal the magistrate’s decision, with Judge Garaufis. As a general rule, district judges rarely overrule the report and recommendation of the magistrate judge.

Therefore, if all the evidence can be placed in front of the jury, there is – as Nancy Salzman’s attorneys so wisely said at her guilty plea – no viable defense.

The evidence will include the horribly damning evidence of graphic nude pictures of the 15-year-old girl [who was Nancy Salzman’s housekeeper at the time] and much more – that Keith Raniere’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, and Clare Bronfman’s attorney, Mark Geragos, have tried so hard to suppress.

This is the death knell for the case.

Here is the docket text from two orders that were issued by Judge Scanlon last week:

Docket Text: REPORT AND RECOMMENDATIONS as to Keith Raniere re [269] MOTION to Suppress. The Court respectfully recommends that Defendant Raniere’s Motion to Suppress be denied. Written objections to this report and recommendation must be filed with the Clerk of Court within seven (7) days after service of the report and recommendation, and in accordance with the Individual Rules of the District Judge. By 3/27/2019, counsel are to submit a joint proposal as to those portions that they believe should be redacted and remain sealed so that the Court may consider the proposed redactions and file the report and recommendation publicly with appropriate redactions if necessary. Ordered by Magistrate Judge Vera M. Scanlon on 3/20/2019. (McCuiston, Hannah)

Docket Text: REPORT AND RECOMMENDATIONS as to Clare Bronfman re [271] MOTION to Suppress. The Court respectfully recommends that Defendant Bronfman’s Motion to Suppress be denied. Written objections to this report and recommendation must be filed with the Clerk of Court within seven (7) days after service of the report and recommendation, and in accordance with the Individual Rules of the District Judge. By 3/20/2019, counsel are to submit a joint proposal as to those portions that they believe should be redacted and remain sealed so that the Court may consider the proposed redactions and file the report and recommendation publicly with appropriate redactions if necessary. Ordered by Magistrate Judge Vera M. Scanlon on 3/14/2019. (McCuiston, Hannah) (Main Document 425 replaced on 3/15/2019) (McCuiston, Hannah). Modified on 3/15/2019 to amend typographical errors on pages 26, 43 and 52. (McCuiston, Hannah).

Motivation to take a plea is getting greater and greater for all the defendants.

MK10ART’s fantastic painting of Nancy alone taking a plea deal and testifying against the codefendants.

Mk10ART’s painting of Allison and Lauren moving away from the defendants Raniere and Bronfman and testifying against them at trial.

What would a plea deal look like for Raniere?

It isnt going to be what wonder boy thinks he should get.

Remember, this is the guy that things “just appear”: spoild brat.

Raniere has a BIG EGO.

Would it be a surprise if he doesn’t get what he wants with a plea deal that he will go to trial and take down others in the process.

He’s most likely singing like a caged bird against those he’s lured into committing crimes with/for him for less time.

Frank,
Where do you think KAR kept this child pornography? And why did the child porn indictment take so long to come out? Was it among the stuff in that storage space I wonder? Just wondering why it’s just coming up now. It sure sent the other defendants running. It was the trump card for the prosecution. I wonder if they were holding onto it and waiting for the right moment? Or if it just recently surfaced? Also, I can’t help but see the Karmic justice that the NXIVM litigation monster got a possibly innocent man convicted of the same thing, John Tighe. I wonder in the case that he actually is innocent–and you’ve implied that may be so— if he’ll ever get justice now that the people who got him thrown in jail (and may have framed him) are being revealed as criminals who go after people and perjure themselves to put their enemies in jail. I wonder if there’s any hope for him. I always felt a lot of compassion for him based on what you’ve wrote.

With every defendant potentially doing a plea deal, and even if all of them don’t, how much will the Feds pump the ones who do for additional information on the other NXIVM criminals?

So who is writing and producing “Vanguard-The Movie”? And do you think Kristin Kreuk will play Allison Mack or herself?

John Donne
Meditation 17
Devotions upon Emergent Occasions

“No man is an iland, intire of it selfe; every man is a peece of the Continent, a part of the maine; if a clod bee washed away by the Sea, Europe is the lesse, as well as if a Promontorie were, as well as if a Mannor of thy friends or of thine owne were; any mans death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankinde; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee….”

Frank’s graphic reminds me of this poem our Mom used to recite to me and Gina: “For Whom the Bell Tolls.”

He only allowed it because witnesses can back up the comment, and he correctly guessed it would cause Bancock to succumb to tears on the Heidi thread.

Thanks for sharing this Heidi. Frank’s graphic is actually an etching. Looking at the art, a lot of work went into this creating this piece. And, it works well with the prose of John Donne’s Meditation 17.

Do I need an EM for wondering if plea bargains are for subversives?

Ethical breaches for all of them!

Joking aside, my wish is the ex-NX among us get to become familiar with what being safe feels like again.

What do you think now that your precious Vanguard might be working with the EDNY DOJ to cut a deal?

Gotta admit Crybaby Jane doesn’t have the stomach or ball to stand up and attempt to prove his innocence.

You’re right Frank- it may be a busy upcoming week for the defendants. They must be terrified – a far cry from the chummy, convivial courtroom greetings of just a few months ago.

Agreed. Keith’s ego and conviction that he is never at fault will demand that he pleads not guilty. He’ll no doubt testify too. The smartest man in the world will need a pulpit.

Even the smartest man in the world can see forces are gathering to conspire against him, namely the other defendants.

I doubt that Bronfman will, either. They’ve both grown accustomed to using high-priced lawyers to manipulate the justice system to their own ends, and I suspect they are unrealistic about their chances of somehow beating the rap in this case. Bronfman also seems to have something of the mobster mentality of her bootlegger grandfather’s generation – leaving me to wonder just what sort of example her father really was – and their strategy was always to lawyer up, try to put the fix in, and fight for an acquittal or an overturn on appeal.

Somebody behind the scenes doesn’t want to be tied on this case. This sort of news made the people believe in ” conspiracy theories “. That pizzagate could be true after all. Having sex in front of the cross mocking Christ is a daily cult routine, gangstalking, exorcism, force demonic possession, too many to mention.

Of course, the civilize world would find this hard to believe and talking about this sort of stuff make the person talking insane. Personally I blame KK on this one, i though i heard a insane person who said ” KK opened the cauldron of hell “.

Is Nancy Salzman an evil woman?

The following quote from the above article answers the question.

“The evidence will include the horribly damning evidence of graphic nude pictures of the 15-year-old girl [who was Nancy Salzman’s housekeeper at the time] “.

Nancy Salzman had her house cleaned for free by the young girl during the day and at night Keith Raniere molested the girl.

Nancy aided and abetted in the molestation of a young girl.

Nancy shared her daughters as well as someone else’s daughter with Keith Raniere, a sexual predator.

The only way Nancy Salzman could possibly be more evil is if she murdered someone.

Hi Toni.

Nobody else uses that hashtag, Sunshine. 🙂

No body found means there’s nothing to investigate, though. Not sure what you hope to investigate at this stage. Keith is gonna be in prison for life anyway. Let go of things which are not provable.

niceguy – How are you sure about all of that? It’s already been exposed in multiple places on FR and by multiple people with first hand knowledge, that Keith kept things secret. “The girl was Nancy’s housekeeper,” isn’t good enough for me to connect the dots that say Nancy knew all about Keith molesting the girl. On the call to Barbara, even Kristen Keeffe was grossed out by it and wasn’t 100% “in the know” about it.
And keep repeating the daughter narrative if you want, but I’m over setting the record straight.

You think she was blind? Did you read anything Barbara has stated. It was an open secret.

I’m not sure that’s what Barbara said. If Barbara did say that, then I guess, by your definition, Barbara also aided and abetted in the molestation of a young girl.

Nancy is guilty of not stopping Vanguard and letting his crazy-ass enjoy unchecked power. This includes his sexual dementedness.

The Son of Sam type laws were struck down in Massachusetts and California.

The laws interfere with the first Amendment and both state supreme courts overturned them.

It seem now more likely than ever that all the defendants – including The Vanguard himself – may end up taking plea deals.

Here’s the only deal these defendants deserve:

“Plead guilty to ALL of the charges against you and avoid a gruesome public trial.”
If you plead “Not Guilty” ALL of your dirty deeds will be exposed to the public to see.

Unconditional Surrender is the only deal these NXIVM Knuckleheads deserve.

Somebody

So does that include maximum sentencing? Running consecutively? As others have said, Keith won’t plea out. He doesn’t admit his wrongs.

Consecutive sentences would be the ideal but even concurrent sentences would drive home the point to the NXIVM knuckleheads.

About the Author

Frank Parlato is an investigative journalist.

His work has been cited in hundreds of news outlets, like The New York Times, The Daily Mail, VICE News, CBS News, Fox News, New York Post, New York Daily News, Oxygen, Rolling Stone, People Magazine, The Sun, The Times of London, CBS Inside Edition, among many others in all five continents.

His work to expose and take down NXIVM is featured in books like “Captive” by Catherine Oxenberg, “Scarred” by Sarah Edmonson, “The Program” by Toni Natalie, and “NXIVM. La Secta Que Sedujo al Poder en México” by Juan Alberto Vasquez.

Parlato has been prominently featured on HBO’s docuseries “The Vow” and was the lead investigator and coordinating producer for Investigation Discovery’s “The Lost Women of NXIVM.” Parlato was also credited in the Starz docuseries "Seduced" for saving 'slave' women from being branded and escaping the sex-slave cult known as DOS.

Additionally, Parlato’s coverage of the group OneTaste, starting in 2018, helped spark an FBI investigation, which led to indictments of two of its leaders in 2023.

Parlato appeared on the Nancy Grace Show, Beyond the Headlines with Gretchen Carlson, Dr. Oz, American Greed, Dateline NBC, and NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, where Parlato conducted the first-ever interview with Keith Raniere after his arrest. This was ironic, as many credit Parlato as one of the primary architects of his arrest and the cratering of the cult he founded.

Parlato is a consulting producer and appears in TNT's The Heiress and the Sex Cult, which premiered on May 22, 2022. Most recently, he consulted and appeared on Tubi's "Branded and Brainwashed: Inside NXIVM," which aired January, 2023.
