MK10ART – the women who had sex with Raniere – and were in his shadow

The wonderful artist MK10ART has released another series of spectacular paintings and sketches relating to the life of Keith Raniere and his minions. Here is one of her latest.

She is a phenomenal talent.

I am taking some guesses here on who the women are. Perhaps readers can help out also. Back row: 1 ? 2. Clare Bronfman 3. Sara Bronfman, 4. Allison Mack, 5? 6. Kristin Snyder Middle row 1. Nancy Salzman, 2.? 3. ? 4?  5. Lauren Salzman, 6. ? 7. Rhiannon,  8? Front Row 1. ? 2. ? 3. Karen Unterreiner, 4. Keith Raniere, 5. Pam Cafritz 6. Barbara Bouchey

Quoting the Albany Times Union’s 2012 story “In Raniere’s Shadow” to explain the above sketch, MK10ART writes:

“Women who have had sex with Keith Raniere say it was billed as a spiritual experience, a transfer of his godlike energy.

“One said Raniere told her their union would make her see a blue light… Another recalled him explaining a threesome would cure the pain of childhood molestation — that she could then start to view sex as just sex.

“….. Raniere, the 51-year-old founder of NXIVM, a business built on self-improvement, claims to have one of the world’s highest IQs. He holds three degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His round face is framed with a salt-and-pepper beard. At about 5-foot-7, he no longer possesses the body of the dedicated weightlifter he once was, and he has an affection for baggy shirts and sweatpants.

“Yet former follower Susan Dones described during a November 2010 deposition in her bankruptcy case how Raniere pursues many women and how those closest to him insist no one owns his body.

“Today, two women who had sex with him when they were just girls, the sister of a third underage partner of Raniere’s, and some of Raniere’s former adult lovers have come forward to tell their stories.

“They’ve said he is more than just a man with an endless sexual appetite.

“They’ve said he needs to be stopped.”

***

May I point out that the Times Union story where the women said “he needs to be stopped” was published in Feb. 2012. He was not stopped until March 2018. Why did it take so long for law enforcement to stop him?

I meant Feb. 2012 TU story. It was in development for over 2 years. Link’s posted.

Love that the figures form a sort of pyramid behind the (is that Emiliano Salinas at the helm?) cannibal-esk skull and crossbone. That’s Pam (RIP) to KAR’s left, with Barbara Bouchey looming large beside her, Karen U to KAR’s right, Gina Hutchinson (she’d appreciate it) near dead center behind KAR, Toni Natalie over Gina’s right shoulder, Gina Melita on the same tier as Gina H. but in the outer edge to Gina’s H’s left next to little Rhianon.

Behind Karen U. to her right, that’s Kristin Keefe methinks, next to her, Kim Woolhouse (outer edge) and Susan Dones behind her.

Nancy Salzman’s looming behind Kim W. next to Lauren on the inside. Clare and Sara Bronfman in my fave pic of them mirroring one another in the back row behind Nancy. Catherine Oxenberg is a bit separated off to Clare’s right and India’s behind Gina Hutchinson. Allison Mack is to India’s left. Kristin Snyder, of course (RIP), is behind Mack to her right with Barbara Jeske or Nicki Clyne (?) in front of her. Kristin Kruek’s directly in front of Kristin Snyder.

How’d I do?

The answer to the last question in the story: Raniere can get in line, WAY behind Amway and other MLM scams. They have scammed many more people for several decades, and they STILL haven’t been stopped. The reason is enough people simply don’t care enough to speak up, the same reason why it took so long to take Raniere down.

Front row 1 looks like Toni Natale to me.

I think Toni’s third row (if there are 4 rows) 3rd in from viewer’s left. Gina’s 4th in for sure next to her. Who’s in the very front?

This is a take on TU “In Raniere’s Shadow” story Feb. 2011 so maybe we should rule out anyone not in the story?

I think women who were young girls, duped and deceived and manipulated when Raniere decided to go after them, should not be represented this way. To lump them in with women like Karen Unterreiner and Pam Cafritz who helped him obtain his young girls is just another violation. Rhiannon, Gina, Gina – none of them should be portrayed as “women” who had sex with him – they were girls. None of them acted as minions. Sorry, but this one falls flat as far as I am concerned. There is a difference between a victim of his terminal selfishness and someone who became an active participant in his deranged schemes – even if that participation was in some sick way a bid for his continued attention.

The picture puts them all together, just like they were in real life. Some were victims, some were monsters, but they all had one thing in common: Raniere.

I hope everyone reads the last paragraph; Because it is the million dollar question.

My feeling is certain bureaucrats were financially incentivized to look the other way.

That’s a plain fact, Nice Guy. And some were incentivized to further assist with anahilating critics of child molestation, IMO. Hopefully the Trowel investigation will dig in deep enough to turn all these blood worms out. Hopefully some will learn a lesson about their failure to stop crime before it escalates to this extreme and has it’s repercussions on so many — even those who might have prevented it from harming their own reputations if they cared nothing (obviously) for the victims or future victims.

About the Author

Frank Parlato is an investigative journalist.

His work has been cited in hundreds of news outlets, like The New York Times, The Daily Mail, VICE News, CBS News, Fox News, New York Post, New York Daily News, Oxygen, Rolling Stone, People Magazine, The Sun, The Times of London, CBS Inside Edition, among many others in all five continents.

His work to expose and take down NXIVM is featured in books like “Captive” by Catherine Oxenberg, “Scarred” by Sarah Edmonson, “The Program” by Toni Natalie, and “NXIVM. La Secta Que Sedujo al Poder en México” by Juan Alberto Vasquez.

Parlato has been prominently featured on HBO’s docuseries “The Vow” and was the lead investigator and coordinating producer for Investigation Discovery’s “The Lost Women of NXIVM.” Parlato was also credited in the Starz docuseries "Seduced" for saving 'slave' women from being branded and escaping the sex-slave cult known as DOS.

Additionally, Parlato’s coverage of the group OneTaste, starting in 2018, helped spark an FBI investigation, which led to indictments of two of its leaders in 2023.

Parlato appeared on the Nancy Grace Show, Beyond the Headlines with Gretchen Carlson, Dr. Oz, American Greed, Dateline NBC, and NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, where Parlato conducted the first-ever interview with Keith Raniere after his arrest. This was ironic, as many credit Parlato as one of the primary architects of his arrest and the cratering of the cult he founded.

Parlato is a consulting producer and appears in TNT's The Heiress and the Sex Cult, which premiered on May 22, 2022. Most recently, he consulted and appeared on Tubi's "Branded and Brainwashed: Inside NXIVM," which aired January, 2023.
