Kristin Kreuk’s New Year’s Day Message: ‘I always felt like a shitty person for severing toxic relationships’ — and one reader’s ‘toxic’ observations

Kristin Kreuk offered an Instagram message on New Year’s Day for her fans and followers. Here is what Kreuk had to say:

“Happy New Year, all! I hope 2019 brings closeness, love, success, challenge and ease. I always felt like a shitty person for severing toxic relationships in my life. At 36, I (finally) do not. Baby steps. Ha.

So, the first thing up this year is the Canadian premiere of season 2 of Burden of Truth. And these lovely pics of a (very super extra) glam me! I don’t do many fashion shoots these days, so they feel extra fancy. Thanks to @beyondfashionmagazine for thinking of me and our show😘; I will never be this 😎 in reality. (please note that when reading the article, the word “exotic” should be in quotes– in 1999, this was considered an acceptable way to describe a non-white person)”

***

Now, here is how this message impressed one of our readers.

By Anonymous

Kristin, you’re still too much of a coward to talk about NXIVM.

What toxic relationships did you sever Kristin?

You did not leave NXIVM in 2013. You knew years ago that Keith Raniere was a pedophile and rapist. You did not care. That makes you an extremely shitty person.

You recruited Allison Mack into the cult and did and said absolutely nothing when the branding story broke. You were happy to use your d-list fame to help build up the cult, but refused to use it to draw attention to their crimes.

Instead, you portrayed yourself as the savior of teen girls and a girl born to pedophile rape on a taxpayer-funded television show. That makes you a shitty person.

You have attached yourself to a documentary about a rape victim while ignoring NXIVM. That makes you a shitty person.

You signed an open letter against a man accused of bad behavior against women while ignoring NXIVM, as if you are morally better than him. That makes you a shitty person.

Frank Parlato was the only media person calling you out and you continued and still continue to be a coward. You took zero opportunity to do the right thing as long as your fame and money privileges were protected. That makes you a shitty person.

Now you are saying you don’t even care. That makes you an extremely shitty person.

You are not a victim of NXIVM. You were a willing perpetrator and enabler. You were a big part of it. You don’t get to call anyone toxic when you are a toxic person yourself. If you consider them toxic to you, then you were toxic to them and others. You are no different.

If you had spoken out against NXIVM, perhaps DOS would never have existed. Perhaps all those women would not be branded above their pussies with the initials of a bitch you recruited and a pedophile you followed.

And you don’t care?

***

Is this fair commentary? Is Kristin Kreuk a coward for not speaking up against the hundreds of women who were abused by Keith Raniere and the woman she recruited into Nxivm, Allison Mack?

Or does she have the right to leave the cult quietly? Move on – even tackle less dangerous issues, less personal.

Can she atone for the harm she did to others by her involvement in – and support of – Nxivm by addressing women’s issues unrelated to Nxivm?

In short, can Kristin Kreuk escape her past?

Kristin Kreuk chose to share a picture of herself, along with her New Year’s Day message of female empowerment and how to be more politically correct.

mskristinlkreuk truly. Loves you.

As if Kreuk is in a position to judge other NXIVM members. Kreuk is hiding because she is not immune from criticism. She has deleted the following comments from her instagram post:

*** josephimmanuelsuazo@tommyhannah84. imagine if she answered all the questions related to NXVIM. Her situation will be i would say ” cluster fuck “. She seem to virtue signal again. No wonder they call her a virtue signaller

*** absolutely! 💯she’s as VACUOUS as they come. She played a massive role in NXIVM growing, even drawing in young girls for known peadofile Keith Raniere through one of his home grown ‘teenage girls development programmes’ yet runs from any kind of association. Absolutely shocking

Other than the branding, what did Allison Mack do and know about that Kreuk didn’t? The same things said about Kreuk, i.e. the Times Union expose, O’Hara’s lawsuit etc are also applicable to Mack.

That actress Asia Argento had sex with a minor, having spoken out about Harvey Weinstein. When she was called out for her hypocrisy, she went silent like Kreuk, then played the victim card. This is what Kreuk is doing, with her cryptic post and believing she gets to say “good riddance”.

I now feel that it doesn’t actually matter if Kreuk never denounces NXIVM, Raniere, or the Salzmans because much like Allison Mack, Nikki Clyne and India Oxenberg, her name will forever be linked to this scandal and there isn’t a damn thing she can do about it. Karma can truly be a beautiful thing.

Well said.
And, I don’t think karma is anywhere near done with Kristin Kreuk.
I suppose she could help speed along the balancing if she actually came clean, but I doubt she ever will.

Karma presupposes the idea of a kind of “hand of justice” that directs the Universe to a balance that it was created and/or exists with. In the human context, Karma guides events to either avenge or correct wrongdoings in the here and now, i.e., “what goes around comes around”. If Kristin didn’t do anything wrong, Karma wouldn’t apply to her and so she would have nothing to fear from it. Karma may include the notion of Grace, where forgiveness can be used to “restore the balance” so to speak if someone has been wronged and chooses to apply it to the one who has wronged them.

Didn’t the Dalai Lama himself call for “TRANSPERANCY” quite deliberately in his 2009 speech attended by Kruek — among other virtue signaling events she made a celebrity appearance at on behalf of her avowed GURU, Keith Raniere, and S&M (BDSM whatever) lifestyle “master” (per FR’s Jane), Mark Hildreth.

Sara Bronfman and her Lama lover, perchance, make an interesting addition to the Crazy Days and Nights stories — unless there’s an identity mix-up with Kruek. How come her name never pops up there? All a smear on mistress Allie.

Being against one of the most cancerous bigoted ideologies in the world where rape, genital mutilation, slavery, beheadings and stoning to death those who are not muslim is not bigotry. Islam is the most intolerant bigoted religion in the world. What’s the punishment for leaving islam? How are Christians treated in muslim majority countries? ….

Disagree, Lena. It DOES matter and it matters most to the 100’s of branded and mind-bended, emotionally and physically scarred DOS victims she wittingly or unwittingly helped recruit through her role in GBD.

That debt Kristin Kruek, INC. owes to those girls to at least explain her own motives for conning them into their present circumstances cannot be counteracted with such blatant hypocritical antics. It is a shame and a sham!

No matter how fast those comments calling her out as a hypocrite are deleted — not going to erase the reality that that resentment exists. She’s rubbing salt on the slaves wounds. FR readers and truth seekers aren’t going away anytime soon. How ‘bout a sincere statement, Princess? Who’s idea was “Sexy 7”? Who wrote the questions for your 12 – 17 yr. old recruits? Who dangled free cameras to take pictures of their sexy selves and send in like that video showing off the sexy adventurous side of the lass who took the prize? And won herself that free camera?

What were you and Mark in your past lives again? Didn’t Vanguard “recognize” you?

–Is Kristin Kreuk a coward for not speaking up against the hundreds of women who were abused by Keith Raniere and the woman she recruited into Nxivm, Allison Mack?

A list of all the women she recruited into NXIVM must be given for this question to be faithfully answered. Since it has never been given whenever asked for, nor has anyone ever publicly come forward to the authorities to claim that Kristin was directly or indirectly responsible for their harm, the default position as a result of due process of law is to assume innocence until proven guilty, i.e., that no one was harmed due to her as a result of her recruiting others into NXIVM.

No one is responsible for Keith’s abuse except himself. Recruitment has never been considered a form of abuse, either as a matter of ethics or law. Assessing whether certain people are enablers of his due to psychological or physical coercion must be determined in a court of law, where substantial evidence must be presented.

–Or does she have the right to leave the cult quietly?

Everyone has a right to do whatever they want as long as it’s not illegal. It’s a “free” country within this context.

–Can she atone for the harm she did to others by her involvement in – and support of – Nxivm by addressing women’s issues unrelated to Nxivm?

An emotionally loaded question with the presumption of guilt – that she directly or indirectly caused harm to others which has never been legitimately evidenced whatsoever. Innuendo, gossip, and spinning narratives don’t count as the latter.

I guess it wouldn’t be the Frank Report if Frank didn’t choose to publish posts filled with assumptions and unsubstantiated claims from obsessed, mentally ill haters. How pathetic is this person’s life that they choose to spend their time stalking someone that triggers them to such a disturbing degree. And Kruek hasn’t ignored NXIVM; she made a statement on March 29, 2018 against NXIVM/DOS and in support of its victims. I just checked, and it’s still up on her Twitter and IG accounts. If people choose not to believe what she wrote in that statement, don’t see why anything else she said would change that.

But since Frank asked if it’s fair “commentary,” I’ll say:

If Frank considers himself a coward and an extremely shitty person for not speaking against the cult until 7 years after he was fired and only after he was indicted in 2015, then it might be considered fair commentary.

If Frank thinks Catherine Oxenberg is a coward for leaving the cult quietly in 2013 like Kruek did, then this might be considered fair commentary.

If Frank thinks Catherine Oxenberg is an extremely shitty person for recruiting her daughter and leaving her with a rapist and pedophile for 4 years to be starved, branded, and fucked in mind and body then this might be considered fair commentary.

If Frank thinks India Oxenberg is an extremely shitty person for not speaking out against the cult and trying to save the remaining DOS slaves then perhaps this is fair commentary.

What might be fair and improve the articles on this site would be only posting “commentary” from those who provide their actual names. Since Shadow and Shitter here don’t actually have any inside information, and aren’t whistleblowers it’s not like their identities need to be protected. Shitter especially has nothing to fear from NXIVM seeing as their favorite thing to do is try and discredit and smear those like Dones, Edmondson and Kreuk that have spoken out against the cult.

My comments in brackets [Brilliance.].

I guess it wouldn’t be the Frank Report if Frank didn’t choose to publish posts filled with assumptions and unsubstantiated claims from obsessed, mentally ill haters. [What’s wrong with free speech and having opinions? After all, it’s your opinion that the commenter is obsessed and mentally ill.]

How pathetic is this person’s life that they choose to spend their time stalking someone that triggers them to such a disturbing degree. [Commenting on a (minor) celebrity’s social media post is pathetic, considered stalking, and disturbing? You sound obsessed and mentally ill to me.]

And Kruek hasn’t ignored NXIVM; she made a statement on March 29, 2018 against NXIVM/DOS and in support of its victims. [Valid point, but it’s likely she knows a lot more than her vague comments suggest.]

I just checked, and it’s still up on her Twitter and IG accounts. [Why wouldn’t it still be posted? She says very little in terms of specifics.]

If people choose not to believe what she wrote in that statement, don’t see why anything else she said would change that. [I think people believe what she said, it’s what she left out in terms of specifics that they’re upset about.]

But since Frank asked if it’s fair “commentary,” I’ll say: [You like to use your first amendment/free speech right, you just have an issue with others doing the same.]

If Frank considers himself a coward and an extremely shitty person for not speaking against the cult until 7 years after he was fired and only after he was indicted in 2015, then it might be considered fair commentary. [Frank wasn’t sued until 2012, does everyone else speak up on a blog when they are fired? I know I would be inclined to push back when indicted, which he did after he was indicted, and which I did when I was sued by Amway in 2010. However, I did start pushing back in 2005 when I found out about Amway’s tool scam, but it was mostly against the upline, until I found out Amway was in on it as well.]

If Frank thinks Catherine Oxenberg is a coward for leaving the cult quietly in 2013 like Kruek did, then this might be considered fair commentary. [It depends on what each of them knew when they left. You can’t hold either of them responsible for what they didn’t know at the time they left.]

If Frank thinks Catherine Oxenberg is an extremely shitty person for recruiting her daughter and leaving her with a rapist and pedophile for 4 years to be starved, branded, and fucked in mind and body then this might be considered fair commentary. [See above, although for a longer and later time period, and there could be an immunity deal that includes staying silent until the trial.]

If Frank thinks India Oxenberg is an extremely shitty person for not speaking out against the cult and trying to save the remaining DOS slaves then perhaps this is fair commentary. [See above,]

What might be fair and improve the articles on this site would be only posting “commentary” from those who provide their actual names. [I’ve supported this view for a very long time, Anonymous! Note your hypocrisy, it’s obvious. I’ve also gone on record as saying a consistent, verifiable fake name is acceptable.]

Since Shadow and Shitter here don’t actually have any inside information, and aren’t whistleblowers it’s not like their identities need to be protected. [I will assume I am the person you are referring to as “Sh!tter” because I am so well loved on this website; I may not have strict inside information, but the reason I’m here is because I noticed how similar NXIVM and Amway operate, and then found that Raniere started his MLM career with Amway and applied those principles to NXIVM. Therefore, i have insights that most cannot have.]

Shitter especially has nothing to fear from NXIVM seeing as their favorite thing to do is try and discredit and smear those like Dones, Edmondson and Kreuk that have spoken out against the cult. [Actually, my goal is to get all of the facts on the table, instead of being a “cheerleader” for any side. Only by asking questions can the proper credibility be determined. Asking questions does not constitute smearing, unless you’re a snowflake.]

Female celebrities claim they are against the sexualisation of women in the entertainment industry and blame men, yet they are 100% responsible and are the ones who do it to themselves. In this photo shoot, kreuk shows a bit of side ass. When a celebrity shows off cleavage, ass, legs etc and in a sexualised manner by choice, why do they still complain? Attention.

Is it possible that… 1) KK wanted out of nxivm due to no longer wanting to be a part of Keith’s sex circle.
2) Keith says “no way, unless you bring me someone of equal value to take your place”
3) KK suggests AM as her replacement to Keith.
4) Keith agrees.
5) KK recruits AM.
6.) KK leaves nxivm.
Just a thought.

Of course it’s possible, just as just about anything is not only possible, but plausible, when it comes to NXIVM.

Insofar as Kruek’s NX culpability, she’s a former child ACTRESS with an overbearing Stage-Dad and ProductionpCompany, professional publicists etc. calling the shots. Actresses tend to take direction and please their employers, fans are secondary.

Although, I’m certain THAT GIRL with her voracious reading habits must be intelligent and self-determined and empowered as Sultan would have us believe. (Sarcasm.)

So, it WAS Kristin Kruek who devised and composed the “Sexy 7” GBD site all on her own and whatever hint of impropriety exists therewith is what’s in YOUR dirty head. (Tee, hee!)

Kristin was never a “child” actress. Though still a minor, Kristin started acting when she was in high school and won a role on the series Edgemont in her senior year. Therefore, her father could never be a “stage-dad”. She was also an adult by the time she started working on Smallville. Allison Mack was the child actress.

If you want to spitefully criticize someone like a gossip rag, at least get the facts right. But then again, gossip rags often care little about the facts.

Despite KK being listed as Mack’s “recruiter” maybe it isn’t really true, according to Wiki: “In 2006, actress Kristin Kreuk became involved with NXIVM, and Salzman and her daughter Lauren went to Vancouver to recruit Kreuk’s Smallville costar Allison Mack. The younger Salzman (herself a junior NXIVM leader) bonded with Mack and the latter became involved.”

I don’t think it shows a dysfunction to be concerned about animal cruelty–it shows that a person has compassion towards all living things. I hope 2019 brings an indictment with Kristin Crook’s name on it.

I can use the word exotic with or without quotes, in 2019.

If Crook did not leave NXIVM in 2013, when did she leave, and what is your evidence?

What is your evidence that Crook “…knew years ago that Keith Raniere was a pedophile and rapist?” Information being on the internets is very weak evidence that she knew, as those involved in MLM scams are encouraged to stay off of the internets, especially regarding the company they are involved with. I know this from my Amway experience.

Do you also blame Mrs. Hitler when she gave birth to little baby Adolf?

Crook did put out a statement shortly after the DOS story broke.

I think Crook should be punished IF the evidence is present, I just haven’t seen anything compelling yet. Color me reasonable.

About the Author

Frank Parlato is an investigative journalist.

His work has been cited in hundreds of news outlets, like The New York Times, The Daily Mail, VICE News, CBS News, Fox News, New York Post, New York Daily News, Oxygen, Rolling Stone, People Magazine, The Sun, The Times of London, CBS Inside Edition, among many others in all five continents.

His work to expose and take down NXIVM is featured in books like “Captive” by Catherine Oxenberg, “Scarred” by Sarah Edmonson, “The Program” by Toni Natalie, and “NXIVM. La Secta Que Sedujo al Poder en México” by Juan Alberto Vasquez.

Parlato has been prominently featured on HBO’s docuseries “The Vow” and was the lead investigator and coordinating producer for Investigation Discovery’s “The Lost Women of NXIVM.” Parlato was also credited in the Starz docuseries "Seduced" for saving 'slave' women from being branded and escaping the sex-slave cult known as DOS.

Additionally, Parlato’s coverage of the group OneTaste, starting in 2018, helped spark an FBI investigation, which led to indictments of two of its leaders in 2023.

Parlato appeared on the Nancy Grace Show, Beyond the Headlines with Gretchen Carlson, Dr. Oz, American Greed, Dateline NBC, and NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, where Parlato conducted the first-ever interview with Keith Raniere after his arrest. This was ironic, as many credit Parlato as one of the primary architects of his arrest and the cratering of the cult he founded.

Parlato is a consulting producer and appears in TNT's The Heiress and the Sex Cult, which premiered on May 22, 2022. Most recently, he consulted and appeared on Tubi's "Branded and Brainwashed: Inside NXIVM," which aired January, 2023.
