Guest View: Scott Johnson is a vampire who sucked the promise and good from this platform

Actor Al Lewis played a Vampire but was not one in real life. The author of this post suggests that Scott Johnson is playing a vampire on the Frank Report.

Mr. Parlato,

THIS is why I stopped reading your blog this summer after following, and very occasionally posting, for well over 18 months but now choose to keep up on NXIVM through google alerts.

I’ve been involved in actively supporting cult dismantling and deprograming since “Operation Clambake” in the early aughts with a particular focus on gendered and sexual abuse which is what NXIVM has been primarily about. It’s operation as a MLM scam and the psychology of those taken in by them plays a part as a number of cults operate in this fashion, but it is most certainly not about one man and his experience with Amway years ago.

What happened Mr. Parlato?

Watching you allow your platform to be hijacked by people like Scott Johnson, MAGA blow-hards who slam libtards, feminists and snowflakes and giving actual posts to wackadoo Q Anon groupies has been embarrassing and mind boggling to watch. When Raniere was busted, for awhile there the comments section was filled with real discourse often with over 50 comments.

As soon as Scott Johnson and the above arrived, those discussions tanked: at Raniere’s capture, you were perfectly situated to become The blog where victims could SAFELY land to share their experiences in which all cult studies stakeholders would have benefited from – including yourself and your reputation in demonstrating that your fight is not simply for your own retribution but for the women who have been PROFOUNDLY abused.

I am a health care provider with a twenty year strong specialty in working with trauma, cult and sexual abuse survivors who moonlights as a cult buster and there is no room for me here or the people who most desperately need a safe social space to come out on.

That is why we are not here – the victims and the specialists who could be adding to the conversation, because you have chosen to highlight people such as Scott Johnson and his ilk.

I hope this post gives you a reason to reflect on your choices regarding the management of your blog and the opportunities it has missed in pushing out those who have real contributions to make and embracing a vampire who has sucked the promise and good from this platform with his 3000 posts.

I have to add my agreement. Scott detracts from real discourse and sharing of information in order to get himself some attention.

This person is right. I remember participating in a thread that was interesting and I made one post that was perhaps too revealing etc, and Scott Johnson attacked my comment, not in the usual troll fashion either, but in such fashion that I was triggered and disgusted. I’m no weak snowflake nor a whiny woman by any means but I was triggered and surprised that such a thing happened on Frank’ blog.

I stopped posting (basically) for several months, up til recently when Frank instated his moderation and announced that people participating in threads be civil and stay on topic. Though, I’m still leery of posting on “hot” threads –

I support Frank. I also accept he might or might not have done some crappy things while he worked for NXIVM. When he thought they were a quirky but harmless group. I like Frank and realize how much he helped those victimized by Raniere. Rarely is something black and white. People are individuals and shouldn’t be judged solely by a group they belong to or work for. There are many nuances to a person and their character. Even the best of us have skeletons in our closets, a moment when we were at our worst or made the wrong choice with best of intentions.

Looking at many of those in NXIVM I still have no idea who they actually are. Frank spoke of feeling sorry for Clare at one time. For all that she’s done or at least financed, I’m curious who she really is.
Of course she’s responsible for her actions but is she truly a bad person or one that is deceived? Nancy? Her daughters?

I think such self help and new age type philosophy is junk.Meditation. That’s just my opinion. I’m not saying those that practice such are wrong.

Scott, you’re the last person I want to argue with but I totally disagree. Although MLMs and cults have similarities, cults are more of a mind fuck. Also, that article you based your deprogramming opinion on was based on one persons opinion. . He had no first hand experience or knowledge. I would rather hear from Rick Ross who does have many years of experience.

I think Nancy Salzman is twenty times worse then Allison Mack ever was because Nancy offered up her own daughters to Keith Raniere’s pleasure. A mother, well a good mother, would do everything in their power to keep their daughter from becoming involved in a cult or become a slave to a deranged man–instead, Nancy encouraged it. Why shadow state focuses his entire “articles” on Allison Mack when Nancy Salzman’s actions are far more heinous and going against everything motherhood stands for is beyond me

“Why shadow state focuses his entire “articles” on Allison Mack when Nancy Salzman’s actions are far more heinous ”

Because prior to this blog shadowman had never heard of NXIVM or that Mack was involved. He has spent a good portion of his life fantasizing about Mack from her TV career. He never heard of Nancy until a year or so ago, therefore never had the desire to self pleasure to her, since she was not a glamorous celebrity.

The comments not posted are no less civil than the ones that are approved. As I’ve stated before, it is more important to me that Frank sees my comments than every other reader, combined. In fact, the comments that were not posted initially were so good that Frank decided, on his own, to post them later in their own thread: https://frankreport.com/2018/12/06/scott-johnson-the-unseen-comments/ I think that you’re jealous that Frank is seeing a lot of my excellent comments that you never see.

I haven’t talked with Frank since late July. The most recent email was September 22, when I asked him to ask other readers to write to the Waldorf school officials, which he did: https://frankreport.com/2018/09/22/scott-johnson-recommends-readers-send-email-to-waldorf-school-distance-yourself-from-raniere/ (and you didn’t). The previous email was April 22nd, I sent him a link to another person who was drawing parallels between NXIVM and Scientology. This comes nowhere near to “…badgering FR with a tantrum of emails demanding screen space no matter how outlandish his innocuous-seeming, yet deeply hateful, deceptive theories.” But I do enjoy your vivid imagination.

Frank can verify the above by checking his phone and email accounts, if he thinks it’s worth his time.

Frank confirmed that Scott was being honest – he has NOT sent Frank angry emails, etc. Which means that Heidi invented the story about Scott. ..her assumptions about Scott were not based on facts, but she presented them as though they were true facts.

I merely said to look at who is being honest, who is blatantly lying, and consider when the harassment occurred. I can’t make accusations because it didn’t happen to me, so I don’t know all the facts….maybe Frank WAS severely harassed at other points in time.

What I can say for sure, is that I have personally witnessed my harassers create false stories on SM pages to pretend they were being harassed, and then actually lie to police about it when it was reported to police. ….

The saying “a broken clock is right twice a day”, fits both Shadowstate and Scott Johnson well.

Every so often, both make posts that are intelligent and insightful. Unfortunately, that is the exception, and not the rule.

Most of the time, their “contributions” serve to highlight how stupid they both are.

I agree with the author of this post, that it’s a shame that Frank took “the low road”, by not only not banning them, but also giving them a platform, thereby encouraging them.

This has only driven away people who were actually there. The firsthand NXIVM stories, in my opinion, are the only ones that are worth hearing, and I’m pretty sure most readers could care less about the opinions of Scott or Shadowstate.

My question is why does Scott Johnson take all the heat for disrupting the comment section on this blog? Yes, he does feel the need to post one-liners and he is always beating the drum against the MLM and yes, he has said some very hurtful and uncaring things to others here but that shouldn’t happen again with the new comment policy.

What about the commenters who have nothing to do with this story but keep droning on trying to get attention shifted to them and then act to disrupt people with real information by calling them liars and imposters? I find that to be far more disrespectful to the work being done here by Frank and those submitting articles.

The hypocrisy of this blog, the people commenting, including the so-called victims, knows no bounds. Seems many victims were okay with the cult, its operation, Raniere until they were thrown under the bus in some fashion. The prosecution is hailed as the good guys and the defense lawyers scum. Does the same hold true involving Frank’s indictment? And it’s convenient that the people Frank “went after for Clare or NXIVM were “really bad guys too”. So, of course, he didn’t victimize any innocents. And the NXIVM victims didn’t hold anyone down while they were being branded. Or shunned anyone or ridiculed anyone.

I don’t think there is anyone innocent anywhere in this story.

WAR ITSELF IS THE ENEMY, not Nations or people. (As I’m sure someone famous once said. 😁.)

Scott Johnson needs to be banned because he causes conflict, creates distraction and discord by attacking EVERYONE including Frank and the integrity of the site. He often contradicts his own alleged ideologies, he just throws out schlock to start shit. I doubt he’s even a true Trump supporter. Scott claims Trump stole his whole hate-speech act: that he, Scott Johnson, “was Trump before Trump was Trump.”

This hateful accreditation is not supportive of Trump or his policies. It’s an embarrassment. If anything, as Scott’s shown us here on FR, “hate speech” DOES spur conflict and does have a deliterious, emotional impact.

It also negatively reflects on its purveyors. If Trump’s impeached it will be largely because of the hate speech, not necessarily his acts or policies. IMO.

If Scott is to be believed, we can all thank him for “inventing” the “very effective” hate-speech style that cost Donald Trump his presidency.

Since Cohen just got 3 years behind bars and blamed Trump for his crimes, it’s not looking so good for your hero right now.

Judge Pauley added that “as a lawyer, Mr. Cohen should have known better.”

Cohen pleaded his case for leniency in front of a federal judge in Manhattan, accusing President Trump – his former boss – of causing him to “follow a path of darkness rather than light” and “cover up his dirty deeds,” according to the Newsday reporter.

Prosecutors in the Justice Department’s Southern District of New York charged Cohen with eight felony counts in August, including tax evasion, making false statements to a financial institution, and campaign finance violations. Special counsel Robert Mueller, tasked with investigating Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, tacked on an additional count of lying to Congress last month.

LOL flowers….swing and a miss

One significant problem could be that the campaign finance charge against the president is a pretty iffy case. Back in 2010, the Justice Department accused 2008 presidential candidate John Edwards of a similar scheme — an alleged campaign finance violation based on a payoff to a woman with whom Edwards had had an affair (and a child).

Edwards said he arranged the payment to save his reputation and hide the affair from his wife. The Justice Department said it was to influence the outcome of a presidential election.

The New York Times called the Edwards indictment “a case that had no precedent.” Noting that campaign finance law is “ever changing,” the paper said the Edwards case came down to one question: “Were the donations for the sole purpose of influencing the campaign or merely one purpose?”

The Justice Department failed miserably at trial. Edwards was acquitted on one count, while the jury deadlocked — in Edwards’ favor — on the others. Prosecutors opted not to try again.

President Trump would point out that the accusation against him differs in at least one key respect from Edwards. Prosecutors accused Edwards of raising donor money to pay off the woman. Trump used his own money, which even the byzantine and restrictive campaign finance laws give candidates a lot of freedom to use in unlimited amounts.

So even more than Edwards, if the Justice Department pursued a case against Trump, it would be on unprecedented grounds.

But the political reality is, it doesn’t really matter if it is a weak case. And it doesn’t matter if Trump himself has not been indicted, or even that a sitting president cannot be indicted. Because now, Democrats can say, “The Justice Department has implicated the president in two felonies. Two felonies. TWO FELONIES!”

Politically, that’s as good as an indictment of Trump — perhaps even better, since it does not give the president a forum to make a proper legal defense.

The last few days have seen a big pivot in the campaign against Donald Trump. For two-plus years, it was Russia, Russia, Russia. But despite various revelations in the Russia probe, the case for collusion remains as sketchy as ever. Now, though, prosecutors in the Southern District of New York have given Democrats a new weapon against the president. Look for them to use it.

Byron York is chief political correspondent for The Washington Examiner.

It will amount to nothing. Just as the Russia collusion will be shown to be the democrats, this bogus campaign contribution nonsense will also turn to ash but without first burning the democrats

Heidi
Heidi

Disagree. Trump’s promise to “drain the swamp” as a political outsider was chiefly what got him independent or non-partisan votes and while his use of jackhammer politics was acceptable during the campaign, it’s not the kind of behavior one expects from our President in office. It has obscured any legit policy points, turned his own party leaders against him, incites divisiveness, increases racial tensions and made US laughing stocks even among our allies.

Unless you just want to concede to nihilism and let everybody kill each other like nature intended, Neitche.

…Or rely on the powers of a benevolent dictator such as Vanguard, leading “ethical humanists” who control the world’s wealth to keep us under control and undisintegrated.

What we are seeing are extraordinary efforts by the democrats and crooked intelligence higher ups all dead set on taking Trump down, even more so now that they are close to being exposed.

First we have a bogus dossier paid for by Clinton.
FBI/DOJ officials fired for anti-Trump plotting.
Leaks to the lefty news by Mueller.
Mueller’s team full of hardcore lefties, even an ex-Clinton lawyer.
The extraordinary raid of a sitting Presidents lawyer, Cohen. Unprecedented.
Then long time Hillary hitman Lanny Davis represents Cohen…..unbelievable……
FBI raids a protected whisleblower how has evidence of wrongdoing at the Clinton Foundation.
Newly elected New York AG promises endless investigations into Trump.

It is obvious highly illegal efforts were made to set up then try and take down a President

Heidi- are you suggesting that Scott has been clever enough to fool us all, and that he’s really a secret …uh….libtard? Were you reading the forum back in June and July, when Scott called me LIBTARD SNOWFLAKE approximately 100 times, all because I questioned the authenticity of his boy, Ben , and the mental stability of The Tanster?

Even if Scott were actually clever enough (doubtful, BTW) to disguise that he’s really a secret Libtard-loving liberal, what would be the point? Why in the world would he want to do that?….I don’t understand the point of such a weird deception.

Mitch- it depends on your definition of innocent. Certainly most who were involved with the cult will not be charged and found guilty of a crime…so legally they could be called innocent.

Ben’s story is becoming more believable every day, as the weird stuff about NXIVM keeps piling up. How do you know it was a fake lie detector test and fake examiner/PI? I checked out his experience, provided real testimony in real court cases. Have you done that?

Which “weird stuff” makes Ben’s story more believable?

You lose it with your hypocrisy. MAGA blowhards ruin the forum? Sorry toots, many of us have been here from the beginning and have had dealings with NXIVN. We are also happy to see President Trump in office. Yes I agree Johnson is a waste of space but so are many of the comments from the alt left liberal blowhards and the misandrous feminists.

Thanks. Why not add a comment joke to a joke of a story?

About the Author

Frank Parlato is an investigative journalist.

His work has been cited in hundreds of news outlets, like The New York Times, The Daily Mail, VICE News, CBS News, Fox News, New York Post, New York Daily News, Oxygen, Rolling Stone, People Magazine, The Sun, The Times of London, CBS Inside Edition, among many others in all five continents.

His work to expose and take down NXIVM is featured in books like “Captive” by Catherine Oxenberg, “Scarred” by Sarah Edmonson, “The Program” by Toni Natalie, and “NXIVM. La Secta Que Sedujo al Poder en México” by Juan Alberto Vasquez.

Parlato has been prominently featured on HBO’s docuseries “The Vow” and was the lead investigator and coordinating producer for Investigation Discovery’s “The Lost Women of NXIVM.” Parlato was also credited in the Starz docuseries "Seduced" for saving 'slave' women from being branded and escaping the sex-slave cult known as DOS.

Additionally, Parlato’s coverage of the group OneTaste, starting in 2018, helped spark an FBI investigation, which led to indictments of two of its leaders in 2023.

Parlato appeared on the Nancy Grace Show, Beyond the Headlines with Gretchen Carlson, Dr. Oz, American Greed, Dateline NBC, and NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, where Parlato conducted the first-ever interview with Keith Raniere after his arrest. This was ironic, as many credit Parlato as one of the primary architects of his arrest and the cratering of the cult he founded.

Parlato is a consulting producer and appears in TNT's The Heiress and the Sex Cult, which premiered on May 22, 2022. Most recently, he consulted and appeared on Tubi's "Branded and Brainwashed: Inside NXIVM," which aired January, 2023.
