Reader: Contact the Dalai Lama to see if he wishes to be used as a reference for Raniere’s bail motion

The Dalai Lama and Keith Raniere, May 2009

A reader offered this point – it is a good one:

The Dalai Lama should have the opportunity to decide if he wants to be included as a positive reference in Keith Raniere’s bail motion.

Raniere’s lawyers wrote:  “In a word, Raniere is an ethicist. His ethical teachings, which have focused on raising the level of humanity within each person, have been a source of help and inspiration to thousands of people. He has been recognized by no less than the Dalai Lama.”

In case Raniere’s lawyers are legally allowed to use the very broad phrase “recognized by,” maybe the Dalai Lama can submit a [whatever the proper legal term for note, amendment, amicus brief, etc., is] clarifying that he does not wish for his name and reputation to be used in this way.

The Dalai Lama might also appreciate knowing that the charges against Raniere continue to grow, that the charges are horrifying, and that all of Raniere’s lawyers are experts in sex crimes. Also, hearing about what happened to Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2 would persuade anyone with a heart to act, and the Dalai Lama is all heart, grace, and compassion.

Disavowing support of Keith Raniere would be an act of deep compassion on behalf of all the victims of Raniere.

Are not in a position to speak up for themselves. So the Dalai Lama acting with compassion in disavowing support for Raniere in would be a great act of kindness.

Isn’t it odd how the Dalai Lama and Richard Branson both backed away from NXIVM when Raniere’s lifetime of crime was finally exposed?

How has the Dalai Lama even been near NXIVM in recent years? In the case of Branson, it was obviously the absurdly rich hanging with the absurdly rich.

Absurd is the best adjective to use in describing Sir Richard Branson.
But at least Allison and Kristin got to enjoy themselves drinking from Sir Richard’s commodious wine cellar.

What was that old line from the Watergate days?
“When the going gets tough, the toughs get going.”

And Branson and the Dali Lama are Going, Going, Gone.

Shoko Asahara, head of Aum Shinrikyo and author of the sarin attacks in Japan during the 1990s, also claimed to have the Dalai Lama’s recommendation. He reportedly paid between US1,200,000 and US$2,000,000 for those bragging rights.

Also, Raniere’s lawyers cite the movie that ESP Mexico made (as a good deed towards humanity), but the director, Mark Vincent, has long got out of the organization and criticized Raniere, calling him as a SICK MAN WITH NO VALUES.

Here is the story:
http://www.letraslibres.com/mexico/politica/que-carajos-hice-la-historia-la-pelicula-esp-en-mexico

The film was made in order to spread Vanguard’s “wisdom and teachings” among Mexicans, trying to convince everybody that Inlakech was a noble movement. The objective was to instill fear in the heart of people and offer Raniere’s compassion as a solution. The Lebaron family (ESP members and politicians) appear as the main characters.

Here is the movement (Inakech) web site (ESP shell company), but it has been taken down.

Encender el Corazón is actually not a movie, it is a cheese documentary that portrays Keith as a divine being with the key to fix crime in Mexico and turn criminals and drug dealers into honest and ethical people. It suggests that people pull out their smart phones and get photos of the criminals whenever they see them breaking the law, and post them on social networks, so that the bad guys feel ashamed and repent. It also recommends people unite in a common mission with Inlakech and recite mantras every Sunday (yes, this is Vanguard’s wisdom).

The film never got popularity (obviously). It is useless as a social solution and has not a single gram of understanding or knowledge of the situation.

This is the film trailer:

Exactly my point! Mark walks around like he’s a Hollywood bigshot and Academy Award-winning Director. Puh-leaz.

Look at the trailer, it’s so bad. Gees. With VanGrifter as the Guru who will solve Mexico’s Cartel violence. Hahaha…Fml.

It was fascinating watching Keith Raniere interact with people who are not his slaves. Regarding the film, the visual effects are atrocious. I suspect Mark Vincente hopes this will get buried forever both because of the content (Keith Raniere) and the quality of his filmmaking.

On a far more serious note, three months after this was made, two members of the LeBaron family, Benjamin LeBaron (who took part in this video) and his brother-in-law Luis Widmar, were killed in tragic circumstances. 15+ men brutally kidnapped them in the middle of the night and later killed them.

For those unfamiliar with the LeBaron family, they are extreme Mormons, so extreme they moved to Mexico to practice polygamy (only for the men of course). Their leader, now dead, was an asshole. He ordered his opponents killed and used the religious doctrine of blood atonement to defend his actions (sound familiar? “In NXIVM, ‘ethics’ supersede ‘rules’. NXIVM leaders often consider it ethical to break the ‘rules’ to uphold ‘ethics.’”).

You can read about one person escaping this Mormon cult here (“Anna LeBaron: How I escaped my father’s murderous polygamous cult”): https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-38526255

I thought the trail to be quite good in terms of mood, atmosphere, and music. If I were completely ignorant of NXIVM, it might come across as a better documentary trailer (but Raniere as American wise man was just completely out of place).

I started to cry when I realized Raniere won’t be able to bring peace to Mexico, because “Bubba” will have a piece of his heiny every single day in prison.

ROFL.

‘You want to snuff out the violence. You want to take the air out of the motivation for violence.’ Or whatever. I don’t care to quote him exactly but the gist is there.

This is what this clown offers as advice? Give me a break. He’s basically replacing the air he wants speciously to take out with his own hot air that he’s blowing.

After the visit, later on in 2009, Nefarious Nancy would brag to other senior Nexians (such as Ginger) that the Dalai Lama was so impressed with Keith that His Holiness visited Albany and NXIVM for free. Which was a total lie, bc Clare and Sara had to make an extra million dollar donation to get the visit.

Even then it was common for NXIVM leaders to lie to other members.

At the event, none of general public wanted to sit behind the NXSCUMians at the front of the auditorium. I was the only who sat close by. Mark Vincente was sitting in front of me. And of course, he was wearing a stupid safari hat the whole time…

Thank you for sharing this behind the scenes Nancy moment!

“it was common for NXIVM leaders to lie” It’s like breathing air to them! Their ease with “ethical lying” should be of some concern to the prosecutors, because any oath taken is irrelevant if they perceive NXIVM being threatened (and of course it’s threatened, what with Keith Raniere looking at life in prison and all).

Frank , Love the way your mind thinks!! I really wonder what excuse the Bronfman girls and NXIVM gave the Dali Lama when they went to visit him before his visit to Albany? Disgruntled employees speaking out? Ex Girlfriends? Government Conspiracy? TRANSPARENCY was the ADVICE!!! Transparency does not mean to use your money that you inherited, and DID NOT EARN, to destroy peoples lives because they wanted TRANSPARENCY!! Getting COLLATERAL so people would not speak up is not what the DALI LAMA meant when he said you must have ¨TRANSPARENCY¨ Lying to members about the BRANDING that was taking place and what the initials were is NOT TRANSPARENCY! Its shameful that Sara and Clare BRonfman would allow their lawyers to put that in the argument. It shows how deep they have been manipulated. People who earn their money think twice about how they spend it. They have bankrolled these assaults. #coverthypnosis #clarebronfman #Sarabronfman #NXIVM

Why would out of all people the Dalai Lama want to make a statement? Whatever Raniere tells is a lie. There are scripts and videos of their meeting and there is nothing he has to correct. Raniere must be pretty desperate to field the Dalai Lama as his witness.

Quote is from Simon Wiesenthal. Keith Raniere’s lies are being paraded as truth in court. Would you tolerate being positively associated with Keith Raniere? With a monster on trial for sex and child trafficking? Especially if that association might bring freedom to that monster?

It is not being paraded if it is public knowledge that the claims are flase.

If it was truly public knowledge, Keith Raniere’s lawyers would have not have included mention of the Dalai Lama in their bail motion. The Dalai Lama and his implied approval of Keith Raniere is now part of the official court records.

It can be found out on public websites and the conversations are available as well. The DoJ should have sufficient resources to sight these sources and come to their own balanced conclusion. The Dalai Lama is not required to help with that.
And I am pretty sure that a guy who fled the US will not be granted freedom. the bail money is not even his.

About the Author

Frank Parlato is an investigative journalist.

His work has been cited in hundreds of news outlets, like The New York Times, The Daily Mail, VICE News, CBS News, Fox News, New York Post, New York Daily News, Oxygen, Rolling Stone, People Magazine, The Sun, The Times of London, CBS Inside Edition, among many others in all five continents.

His work to expose and take down NXIVM is featured in books like “Captive” by Catherine Oxenberg, “Scarred” by Sarah Edmonson, “The Program” by Toni Natalie, and “NXIVM. La Secta Que Sedujo al Poder en México” by Juan Alberto Vasquez.

Parlato has been prominently featured on HBO’s docuseries “The Vow” and was the lead investigator and coordinating producer for Investigation Discovery’s “The Lost Women of NXIVM.” Parlato was also credited in the Starz docuseries "Seduced" for saving 'slave' women from being branded and escaping the sex-slave cult known as DOS.

Additionally, Parlato’s coverage of the group OneTaste, starting in 2018, helped spark an FBI investigation, which led to indictments of two of its leaders in 2023.

Parlato appeared on the Nancy Grace Show, Beyond the Headlines with Gretchen Carlson, Dr. Oz, American Greed, Dateline NBC, and NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, where Parlato conducted the first-ever interview with Keith Raniere after his arrest. This was ironic, as many credit Parlato as one of the primary architects of his arrest and the cratering of the cult he founded.

Parlato is a consulting producer and appears in TNT's The Heiress and the Sex Cult, which premiered on May 22, 2022. Most recently, he consulted and appeared on Tubi's "Branded and Brainwashed: Inside NXIVM," which aired January, 2023.
