Another take on missing Kristin Snyder – Frank Report cited on cold case that could be murder

Kristin Snyder

Craigmedred.news has published a fascinating article taking up an old Frank Report story — what happened to Kristin Snyder?

Now, someone other than Frank Report calls the matter into question – even calling my credibility into question. Perhaps the Alaska State Police will revisit the Kristin Snyder matter. Something happened to Kristin. And I believe Keith Raniere is at the bottom of it.

Here are 16 important points made in craigmedred.news:

  1. Frank Parlato… set up a website that dogged Raniere for years prior to his arrest in Mexico on U.S. charges of sex-trafficking, [Parlato] suggested Snyder might have been murdered because she was pregnant with Raniere’s child.
  2. Alaska friends of Snyder – none of whom wanted to talk …  on-the-record … called Parlato’s theory far-fetched.
  3. A still active Alaska State Troopers missing person bulletin says Snyder “was last seen February 7, 2003 leaving Executive Services (sic) Program in Anchorage, Alaska. Her vehicle was found abandoned at Millers Landing in Seward, Alaska on February 8, 2003.
  4. Parlato first reported the branding [story] a year ago [that turned out to be true].
  5. Friends of Snyder have suggested she might have suffered a psychotic break after being run through a … Raniere program of thought reform, sleep deprivation and suggestions of past lives.
  6. Snyder had been declared legally dead …  based on a trooper theory that she paddled a kayak out into Resurrection Bay, intentionally overturned it, and perished in the cold water.
  7. There was little physical evidence to back up the theory. A possibly stolen kayak in Seward was the sum of it. And there was this in the trooper report at the time:
  8. The kayak was never found nor the body.
  9. Parlato claims that “Raniere boasts he has cured lesbians [lesbianism being a disintegration, according to him] and claims to have converted lesbians to heterosexuals.”
  10. Parlato [has] his own checkered history. Federal officials in 2015 accused him of stealing $1 million from Sara and Claire Bronfman, the heirs to the Seagram liquor fortune and members of NXIVM.  The theft charges were dropped last month, but charges of wire fraud and cheating the Internal Revenue Service remain.
  11. Parlato contends the charges are nothing but an attempt by the Bronfmans to discredit him for his pursuit of Raniere. NXIVM has been ruthless in pursuit of its critics in the past.
  12. [Name Redacted] …  was at the NXIVM intensive … in 2003 when Snyder was last seen alive. So, too, Esther Chiappone, a former Soldotna teacher who went to work for NXIVM.
  13. Parlato has suggested [Name Redacted] and Chiappone might know more than they … let on.
  14. Friends believe [Snyder] suffered a breakdown. NXIVM and Raniere might have played a role.
  15.  Parlato levels plenty of  other allegations against the self-help guru, but it is hard to know how many have substance.
  16. Federal court recognition of his reports of branding have, however, elevated his credibility.

This whole story is so disturbing. I wish it were getting more coverage, and that we could get to the bottom of it.

This is terrifying. Someone recently posted that KR may have been planning to kill Kristen Keeffe in the same way. I wonder if she will ever speak out? She may be afraid to.

Suicide by intentional drowning in near-freezing water is statistically rare. The most common method for women is poisoning then firearms. For men, it is a gunshot to the head.

Plus, kayaks don’t sink. If Kristin Snyder paddled out on a lake, the kayak would have been seen.

Plus, the distance from the location of the intensive in Anchorage to the Resurrection Bay in Seward was more than 2 hours 23 minutes.

It seems more likely that something happened to Kristin after the intensive. Plus, Keith’s words… ‘People have died because of me.’

Great news that Snyder is getting attention! I’m most curious about [Name Redacted]. One of the “NXIVM 9” who left in 2009. Has anyone contacted her to see if she can speak more openly about Snyder now?

The text below is copied from this post: https://frankreport.com/2017/08/10/notes-and-a-few-more-questions-on-the-seemingly-deliberate-attempt-of-kr-to-destroy-ks/

“A student in the intensive, [Name Redacted], told police Miss Snyder left the seminar to go see a concert. A concert?

[Name Redacted] happened to have a cabin right near where Miss Snyder’s truck was found in Seward on Resurrection Bay. Isn’t that an amazing coincidence?

Suicide notes were found in the truck on the front seat. An old kayak was missing from a nearby shed. A search was undertaken. Police reached the hasty conclusion: Kristin stole a kayak, paddled out to sea, and drowned herself.

Some who witnessed Kristin’s final day wondered how Miss Snyder could possibly drive all the way from Anchorage to Seward in her dazed and exhausted condition.

Kristin disappeared, never to be seen again. And [Name Redacted] suddenly decided to move to Clifton Park.

Almost immediately after moving to Clifton Park in 2003, [Name Redacted] received a $50,000 no-repayment-required “loan” from Nancy Salzman – and was allowed to live in a house owned by NXIVM. This was shortly after the “disappearance” of Miss Snyder – and not that long after Ms. [Name Redacted]’s cabin was searched twice by Alaska State Police who were suspicious of her behavior.

She was made Manager of the café in the NXIVM Center, at 455 New Karner Road. She became an ESP coach in 2006. She became employed by Dr. Michael Salzman, Nancy Salzman’s ex-husband. [He is the father of her daughters, Michelle and Lauren Salzman.]

Miss Snyder’s death was ruled a suicide. The case was closed.”

If [Name Redacted] did receive the 50K for some monkey business she was involved in having to due with Kristen’s disappearance, she sure won’t be talking about it and her actions should be looked into by authorities.
It seems a lot of the past defecting members did some downright nasty and illegal things that they got tired of doing, left nxivm, and now want to keep quiet about.

I love what you are doing Frank !

About the Author

Frank Parlato is an investigative journalist.

His work has been cited in hundreds of news outlets, like The New York Times, The Daily Mail, VICE News, CBS News, Fox News, New York Post, New York Daily News, Oxygen, Rolling Stone, People Magazine, The Sun, The Times of London, CBS Inside Edition, among many others in all five continents.

His work to expose and take down NXIVM is featured in books like “Captive” by Catherine Oxenberg, “Scarred” by Sarah Edmonson, “The Program” by Toni Natalie, and “NXIVM. La Secta Que Sedujo al Poder en México” by Juan Alberto Vasquez.

Parlato has been prominently featured on HBO’s docuseries “The Vow” and was the lead investigator and coordinating producer for Investigation Discovery’s “The Lost Women of NXIVM.” Parlato was also credited in the Starz docuseries "Seduced" for saving 'slave' women from being branded and escaping the sex-slave cult known as DOS.

Additionally, Parlato’s coverage of the group OneTaste, starting in 2018, helped spark an FBI investigation, which led to indictments of two of its leaders in 2023.

Parlato appeared on the Nancy Grace Show, Beyond the Headlines with Gretchen Carlson, Dr. Oz, American Greed, Dateline NBC, and NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, where Parlato conducted the first-ever interview with Keith Raniere after his arrest. This was ironic, as many credit Parlato as one of the primary architects of his arrest and the cratering of the cult he founded.

Parlato is a consulting producer and appears in TNT's The Heiress and the Sex Cult, which premiered on May 22, 2022. Most recently, he consulted and appeared on Tubi's "Branded and Brainwashed: Inside NXIVM," which aired January, 2023.
