Raniere ‘most likely’ won’t be arraigned today – court official says

Not a real photo of Keith Raniere but his soon-to-be future reality.. Prison

A court official at US Federal Court in Brooklyn told Frank Report that Keith Alan Raniere [AKA 57005-177] will “most likely” not be arraigned today.

The presiding magistrate in his case, Judge Lois Bloom, is on vacation this week, according to the official for the court in the Eastern District of New York .

This does not mean that he won’t be arraigned this week; nor does it mean another judge won’t step in to handle the hearing.

The real issue at hand – for Raniere is expected to plead not guilty – is the detention hearing. Raniere is expected to argue, through his attorney Paul DerOhannesian, that he presents no risk of flight or danger to the community if he is released on bail.

The government is expected to argue that Raniere presents a significant risk to the community and is a flight risk. A substitute magistrate may hear the detention arguments or the court may wait to arraign Raniere and hear arguments for and against bail after Judge Bloom returns next week.

Stay tuned.

pfft “no risk of flight” – this wretched cowardly pedophile and rapist will run as far as Clare’s money will take him. To a country where the US doesn’t have an extradition agreement.

Says that there was a light on in the NXIVM building when they were leaving that night. They took a couple of pictures through the window. It’s very creepy…hangers and hangers full of the various colored sashes, and a HUGE Van Gogh-style portrait of the vanguard himself. They think that whoever is still working in the New karner office “left the light on intentionally”.

Wish there was an option to post pictures here, would like to share these with other FR readers

Conditions at the Brooklyn holding center as described in a lawsuit (covered by the NY Daily News on November 2,2017):

“Life inside Brooklyn’s federal jail is filthy and inhumane. It stinks — literally — and the food isn’t fit for consumption.

They say the place has no sunlight or fresh air — but it does have “the constant presence of airborne fecal matter, mold, asbestos and other unknown particulate matter.”

The food is as low-quality at the air, they say. The preparation areas “are habitually contaminated by the visible presence and droppings of rats, mice, cockroaches and flies.” And that all ends up in their meals.”

For a deeper look into life at this facility, one person wrote a long and informative blog post about their experience: https://www.gorillaconvict.com/2011/10/mdc-brooklyn-2/

About the Author

Frank Parlato is an investigative journalist.

His work has been cited in hundreds of news outlets, like The New York Times, The Daily Mail, VICE News, CBS News, Fox News, New York Post, New York Daily News, Oxygen, Rolling Stone, People Magazine, The Sun, The Times of London, CBS Inside Edition, among many others in all five continents.

His work to expose and take down NXIVM is featured in books like “Captive” by Catherine Oxenberg, “Scarred” by Sarah Edmonson, “The Program” by Toni Natalie, and “NXIVM. La Secta Que Sedujo al Poder en México” by Juan Alberto Vasquez.

Parlato has been prominently featured on HBO’s docuseries “The Vow” and was the lead investigator and coordinating producer for Investigation Discovery’s “The Lost Women of NXIVM.” Parlato was also credited in the Starz docuseries "Seduced" for saving 'slave' women from being branded and escaping the sex-slave cult known as DOS.

Additionally, Parlato’s coverage of the group OneTaste, starting in 2018, helped spark an FBI investigation, which led to indictments of two of its leaders in 2023.

Parlato appeared on the Nancy Grace Show, Beyond the Headlines with Gretchen Carlson, Dr. Oz, American Greed, Dateline NBC, and NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, where Parlato conducted the first-ever interview with Keith Raniere after his arrest. This was ironic, as many credit Parlato as one of the primary architects of his arrest and the cratering of the cult he founded.

Parlato is a consulting producer and appears in TNT's The Heiress and the Sex Cult, which premiered on May 22, 2022. Most recently, he consulted and appeared on Tubi's "Branded and Brainwashed: Inside NXIVM," which aired January, 2023.
