NIAGARA FALLS — The company that owns a nine-story glass building outside the entrance to Niagara Falls State Park on Tuesday paid a portion of nearly $800,000 in back property taxes owed on the building.
Frank Parlato Jr., managing member of One Niagara, which owns the building, said the company paid nearly $140,000 in city and school taxes owed from 2005.
Taxes for 2006 and 2007 are still owed on the building at 360 Rainbow Blvd. South, formerly the Occidental Chemical office building.
One Niagara currently operates the first floor of the building and a parking lot on the site. The rest of the building is mostly vacant. Parlato said he hopes to open the ninth floor to tourists later this summer.
